Ive recently become fascinated about eastern European countries and Russia. Riga definitely seems interesting, but after seeing this it looks like a sleazy, awful place. Its sad that people come from wealthier countries and exploit the poor. Latvia should not have to turn to prostitution as there main tourist attraction. Its demoralizing and degrades themselves as people and as a country.

People earning money from sex services are all adults and free to do it: all is up to them.Nobody is forced to do it and girls arent slaves but they know well what they're doing .They're not exploited. The video was good, but would have benefited greatly from interviews with these women who are on the local end of the sex tourism industry. Sure, for some it might be just a one-time or occasional bit of "harmless fun," but to assume that there aren't men behind the scenes forcing many of these women to make them money through sex tourism is just naive.

The question is easy: everybody wanted to make money and money they got years ago , money built on nothing,money loaned by bank never return back. Tourists come back and go away but for Latvia will be only debts to pay for generations Now things are going to be like 90's for the happiness of those stupid guys going to Riga only to hunt sluts.Enjoy!

From the point of view of a UK citizen running a tourism company called Riga Out There, it has been a very sensitive subject. Tourism has become a huge export...Riga is a beautiful and inspirational city with an awesome nightlife.....Riga's nightlife does not revolve around the sex industry....the bars and clubs here, in my opinion, are some of the best in the world!

Oh my god! I can assure you, not all italians are like those guys! I'm italian and I went to Riga last summer... it's a pleasant and quiet city to spend your holidays in, that's all. I went there because of the low prices, not EXCLUSIVELY to see beautiful girls, which I can see in my home country too...

I just came back from a 4-days stay in Riga. I was really worried about tourist-scams but now I can say this is not so likely to occur as one can imagine just reading discussions about Riga.

Anyway some bars that charge extortionate prices exists and they are well-known by everyone and the police do nothing to stop this, is not something you can expect in a civilized country.

Anyway following the advice of some people from Riga (special thanks to Katrina!) I really enjoyed the city.
