  • What a great hittt!!!! just love it so mellow and great lyrics.. no violence...you dont hear this kinda music todayy..these guys are one of the great icons of music history..thanks for sharin.

  • lifts you soul every time its played ,brill

  • The Voice Of An Angel

  • Got this on an original 1970s cassette tape version of "20 Golden Greats", it still plays perfect, when I got my first car last spring I'd play it as I drove to college. There's something a bit magic about having this on really loud, windows wound down as you move through the traffic on a dewy sunny morning. The whole world could explode at that moment and you wouldn't give a toss.

  • @clubviking123. I was a as noted in my original comment regarding this great song.

  • carls voice is so great but we don't don't see dennis at all. hidden behind mikes beard

  • I FOOKIN LOVE ITT... fb sacko steed

  • molly1246 what a four piece harmony jk :)

  • @jellobraindead Got that right. The descending cadence at 2:04 sends shivers down my spine!! and is something that CT doesn't do well in her version.

  • after all these years this wonderful song is still a big favourite of mine!

    maria in sweden.

  • Carl Wlson's plangent vocals, the driving strumming guitars - this was an unexpected piece of pop genius and with Brian at the helm. Love this to death.

  • @kiwiduncan - I meant: WITHOUT Brian at the helm.

  • ブライアン低迷期に出された、ロネッツ。スペクターカバー、THE BEACH BOYS"アイ・キャン・ヒア・ミュージック"悪くなかったヨ!・・カール

  • I love how at 1:51 Dennis jumps up and starts to clap his hands.

Too bad the creepiest-looking jackass on earth called Mike Love is blocking the camera though

  • As near to perfection as you'll ever get.

  • Great MUSIC reminds me of a mate who was running about in a Bright Orange MK3 Cortina at that time ,

  • Simply the greatest pop song ever written! Brian Wilson = Genuis.

  • @MrStaxer1 this song is a Ronettes cover.

  • yes I can hear this great music, ever until eternity

  • There are only two singers in the past 50 years that I would have described as "having the voice of an angel". They were Karen Carpenter and Carl Wilson. RIP.

  • The older I get, the more I begin to recognize the genius in their songs

  • To my little grandson, luv you pooh bears.

  • zo prachtig mooooi

  • I was born in the 70's, but this song is timeless. Nothing will beat it

  • Que grandes fuimos los esa generacion!!!

  • Ahhh, the 60's......I just wanna go back.

  • 42 years later and a still fresh!

  • @trojanostar You'r so true

  • I think Mike Love is stoned out his freakin head in this clip lol.. still great song writer epsecially in the early days with Brian

  • @vardiss22 Mike Love was never stoned as he was a vegetarian and a non-drug guy.

    He did only looked crazy.....

  • @vardiss22 Fair enough lol ..yeah he did look a little crazy in this clip and i can't overlook the fact that it was the late 60's....seeing this must have drove Murray Wilson nuts even though he was no longer the "manager" by this time.

  • @vardiss22 Murray did not care at all at this time, he had his other band then to promote.

He and his sons did not communicate very often, familylike it was a hard time for the BB.

Musically, I love the years in the late 60´s and early 70´s. They sang and recorded at a level the listeners was not ready for, alas.

  • @vardiss22 Yeah, he looks totally out of it - like even miming is too hard for him.

  • Who is the guy in the white pants ??

  • @MrMsgodiksen That,s Bruce Johnston. He joined The Beachboys 9 april 1965.

  • Man, how cool was Mike Green???

  • I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever. It's fantastic.

  • Carl Wilson is God

  • Muiiiiiiiiiiiiiitoooo boa!!!!

  • The Beach Boys were the first band I saw live and this was their opening number. The year was 1969 and their concert ticket was a birthday present. Over 40 years on I still remember it as if it were yesterday and I will treasure their music for ever. Good old Beach Boys!

  • THEIR BEST song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I CAN'T BEEEEAAAAAAAAAAR MUSIC... FROM JUSTIN BIEB***

  • used to listen this song 15 years ago, still listen it today. great band

  • that beard dude crakes me up

  • @gmaileer the correct spelling is c r a c k s me up

  • @gmaileer The beard dude is a Legend YEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAR TRUE STORY

  • @MbootwoKcoonie He sure is... It's NED Kelly

  • The Beachboys and summer-the perfect match.

  • Mon été 2011 est placé sous le signe Beach Boys ! Dynamisme, bonne humeur et musique à mon goût assurés !

  • but seriously this is one of my favorite songs ever.

  • @molly1246

    You suck.

  • @molly1246 watch?v=_7HvURBhMGE&ob=av2e

Lagy Gaga can sing. Why compare her to the Beach Boys? They're entirely different.

  • @molly1246 ROFL lady ka ka that's brilliant

  • @molly1246 that comment just made my day. thank you

  • @pedalnumber4 i´m glad for making you happy! have a good life with lots of beautiful music such as this music!

  • @molly1246 I genuinely don't get the love for her. She's really, actually, shit.

  • poor mike no one likes him!

  • Brilliant as ever

  • I love the beach boys im born 1982 and im proud that music during that time was still worth listening

  • 42 years is a long time. But it sure went fast.

  • @isuckaman Too True mate - where did it go??

  • Well, one thing is true you can actually hear music..can remember where i was and what i was doing when i first heard this on my tranny radio..amazing group

  • I love Carl shame his life was cut short xx

  • I saw Carl during a filming of "Solid Gold" around 1984 or so. He had a new band...but I'll never forget seeing the Beach Boys live in 1963 in Syracuse NY...outdoors at a baseball park. Their second set was rained out, but they signed autographs. I got Mike Love's.

  • the guy with the beard doesnt do much, does he?

  • @tjakane Mike sings backing vocals in this one. Less than the others, but still something.

  • I can hear good music in 2011!

  • @enasretdi can't sorry for mistake)

  • the good old music is the best

  • Mike looks either like a hobo or a skinny version of santa claus

  • Mike Love is the luckiest jerk alive.

  • I can't believe it - it's so fantastic to see and hear this! I met Carl one day in NYC! I'm so happy to have shared a few moments with him. RIP beautiful Carl.

  • my little 1 year old grandson luv this ,and proud of him, i play the tamborine while he sings the song, sing up liitle guy,

  • Beach Men

  • RIP Carl and Dennis Wilson...

  • Toronto 1969....

    for remembrance...Nath

  • Carl's voice makes me feel all warm and fuzzy... I love it!

  • It's obvious that Mike Love studied the moves of the Soul Singers from Stax and Motown. So smooth that I know this'll shock You but Mike Love - he's White.

    Seriously.

  • @stan2211stan HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Seriously though, I think I hate Mike Love...

  • oddly enough.... i love the VIDEO quality. xD

  • Mike's dancing has an eerie Big Foot quality but what a song! Thanks Carl!

  • Mike's dancing has an eerie Big Foot quality but what a song! Thanks Carl!

  • Utter Magic from back in the day, when music had heart and Simon Cowell was no-where near the music industry.

  • A great tune that should have been one of their biggest hits, but it came out in the late 60's when the Beach Boys were no longer popular.

And yes, this is a better song than anything on the charts in 2011. And I'm only 34 years young!

  • I agree Wilkobangs, don't be so harsh on Mike, he is a very talented song writer, & singer, and a large part of The Beach Boys sound.

  • why does everyone hate mike love lol? im growing a beard in tribute!

  • @wilkobangs By most accounts, Mike Love was one of the catalysts for Brian's breakdown. He wanted Brian to write songs about cars, girls, and surfing only. When Brian started to expand his musical horizons on Pet Sounds, Mike fought Brian all the way. Mike treated Brian like total shit, mocking him at every turn. I blame Mike Love for the Smile debacle, him and of course the drugs . . .

  • @TheShagDiesel well i have read a bit about it and from my small research it seems they were as bad as each other, like lots of bands with no clear leader arguing and disagreeing over everything. this is quite interesting and awful at the same tme, you need to stick it into youtube browser as i cant post the link The Beach Boys - "Back Home" - live in Largo, 01/21/1977

  • Whats up with grissly adams there on the right

  • @footscraysteve ...Na that's Jack :)

  • 26 people must be deaf.

  • i love the beach boys. They are awesome.

  • This is my wedding song. She preferred the Ronettes version, but whatever, this is the first place I heard it. I would laugh if Mike Love died in a car-fire.

  • goddamn sideburns

  • Carl has the most underrated Voice of all time.

I don't understand why one of The Networks doesn't give Mike a talk show, as it'd be the only one My Generation would stay awake to watch.

  • magique sixties , belle video et melodie the best groupe !!

  • Such a great song, and such a great group! This band was ahead of it's time in so many ways, yet got somewhat left behind in the laten 60's and yet rebounded. Nobody ever matched what Brian Wilson was able to do with the lyrics or the harmonies!!

  • 1969 was the year I married!! Guess we weren't into the beach much by then!!! Look at these guys!!! Whatever happened to the striped shirts and floods (jeans that were too short!)

  • God Bless the irreplaceable carl wilson

    jctoronto

  • brian wilson is some talent not appreciated enough in my book

  • 26 people couldnt hear music :P

  • It says on Carl's tombstone,"Voice of an Angel".

  • this songs needs to be longer than 2:29. way longer.

  • what a shame it is just the recorded version and not them singing live.

  • this has to cheer people up, but it makes me feel a bit sad

  • My all time favorite Beach Boys song, what an amazing tune it is!!!!!!! Carl's voice was unbeleivable!!!!! What a shame that he left us way, way too soon!!!!!!

  • Carl was so good singing live - miss that voice :(

  • SUBLIME /MAGIQUE beach boys ,the best sixties que du bonheur ,thanks' !! quand a vous YOU TUBE RAS LE BOL AVEC VOTRE PUB DE MERDE ENVAHISSANTE ATTENTION CA SUFFIT !!

  • its the 60-s daily in my streetrod shop in Roswell NM russell bradford banks on FB 5-25-11 thanx Rod Serling , lol

  • 24 people can't hear music!

  • Harmonies don't get much better than this. The standard to which all vocal harmony groups should aspire.

  • @FluidDruid23 that's exactly it ! Its their harmonies that totally amazing me.

  • Great bass vocals Mike Love, Carl great job lead vocals, & production. Very soulful, & pretty song.

  • Carl sounds great on this. Mike Love, Al, and the rest are great also.

  • one of the beach boys greatest songs ever sung by them

  • This is better than any song of 2011!

  • @trevor40

2011? don't limit to one single year. Lets take it a step further and go back at least a decade

  • @trevor40 Better than any song of the last decade.

  • @freddygoldstein - definitely any pop song of the last decade. There were a few good songs in other genres though.

  • @trevor40 You're right!

  • cigarettes.....have ruined so many voices then lives....as in Carl.....in Carl's last year on tour he would get oxygen and rest then go at it again....a TRUE gentlemen also.....

  • @drummermaneleven Karl Died Of A "Brain Tumor"...........Look It Up.

  • @desert3347 ......yes, brain tumor, that started in his 3 pack a day habit lungs....by the way, his name was Carl, not Karl, LOOK IT UP!.......

  • @drummermaneleven ....uh.......just enjoy the music. PERIOD!...thank you. (no comments necessary unless you can do better. thank you again....have a great day.

  • @seniorloves no hugs this time?....it'll be alright, hugs anyway.......

  • @drummermaneleven ....uh.......just enjoy the music. PERIOD!...thank you. (no comments necessary unless you can do better. thank you again....have a great day. hugs

  • @seniorloves back at cha...hugs.....

  • Mike Love looks like abolitionist John Brown.

  • sideburns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)))

  • so simple...yet so nice :)

  • transistor radio , beachboys, and lying on the beach great memories

  • Surely one of the most phenomonal male vocal performances in the history of pop music

  • ICONS of an era........

  • The ultimate sound of California

  • Carl nailed another one . Great voice.

  • So Young. So Good!

  • Still missin' ya, Carl...

  • Brian isn't in this video, Dennis and Carl Wilson, Bruce Johnston, Al Jardine, and Mike Love.......Sorry, no Brian.....in seclusion.......

  • Brian was too ill to travel with the Beach Boys then. He recorded all the music in the studio but could not go on tour for some years. He's back and doing a solo act now and is just as great as he always was.

  • Brian Wilson to his mother: "Mom, make Carl sing!"

    Sure glad she did...

  • Where the heck was Brian in this recording? He should have been there to back up his brother, who by the way did a great job.

  • @Tonithenightowl Brian, I think, is singing the high notes in the backing vocals to the bridge. He didn't do much on this song... it was almost entirely a Carl production.

  • @TheBoldImperator This is one of my favorite songs by the BB. Carl was great. Brian probably did do the back ups on the orginal recording. They were such a smashing success, and still are. It's a shame Carl and Dennis are no longer with us but they will never be forgotten. Thanks for responding.

  • is carl playing a casino?

  • Go back to your frat, Mr. Johnston, we recognize a phony when we see one. Or should I say Mr. Baldwin.

  • carl is just beyond handsome.....he makes me want to cry when i hear him......

  • kennmoran... you need to better fact-checking man.

Carl was really coming out from behind Brians shadow here.

Mike looks like a old man..

  • I love how mike love has always been such a staunch anti-drug person yet he looked like the biggest druggie ever

  • Dennis got mixt up with Charles Manson. Threw himself drugged up into the sur frather than get charged with the murder of Sharon Tate

  • Best beach boys song in my opinion.. Love it

  • Great song, great video. Summers just aren't the same without the Beach Boys.

  • As ancient as this video is, never realized Mike Love had that much of a receding hairline at a young age.

  • i can't imagine a negative comment to this video. the pure simplicity releases memories of great times. i feel sorry for anybody that didn't experience those times

  • One of The Beach Boys ALL-TIME BEST TUNES.

    1969.

  • way better than the original...

  • @Clevelandbrowns58 I didn’t know the Ronettes did this song first?? Now I have to listen to their version. I do know Brian Wilson was upstairs in bed and all paranoid when Carl put this together in Brians studio downstairs.

  • most amazing song they ever did i will always love this song

  • Mike looks so out of place there, some how xD

  • Mike needs Elaine as a partner.

  • Mike Love hears music, but obviously off rythem...lol

  • I was born in 1958 and this song was where it was at! Hotrods, corvettes, drag racing! Yeh - my older brothers had all of it and I had to ride along so they could do all of that! luv the memories of sweet inocence?

  • omg Mike XD

  • Good singer but dancing???

  • What I admire about this era is they didn't need fancy over the top film clips to sell their music, as their talent stood alone. What a wonderful era of music and memories of growing up in a household of music, it really is good for the soul.

  • Mike looked stoned out of his shoes here...

  • WOW
