  • I know restraining your emotions angers you but...

    you shouldn't feel that way.

  • You made an INFP video.

I'm not sure how I feel about that...

  • i can relate to this so much.. thanks for the upload :)

  • Just a question, if I may. Am I the only one or all INFPs have problems (?) with needing much positive feedback?

  • "Every day I am new person". Me too, so nice to hear I am not the only one as INFP.

  • Man. The Fountain comment and the relating intuitively with it really hit home for me. Same with reading non fiction. I read self help all the time.

  • your beautiful and have such a comforting voice, I can listen to you talk all day! I can relate to everything you talked about, i'm an infp too(:

  • as an infp myself, let me just say while its good to be yourself, ill

advise everyone, we as humans have our shortcomings, we should try to

amend them, i advise infps to try stop being shy around others, i had to overcome that, and trust me when we break out of our shells and be who we are inside outside,

there is none like us out there! also just wanna add be careful of intps- dont get too close to them, when they get stressed, they can be heartless.

  • yeayyyy I am an INFP girl too! hehe...it feels so good to meet other INFP's .....great job girl, you're doing good and must say your'e beautiful and quite cute! keep up the good work and enjoy this beautiful life....we are lucky, arent't we! :P :P hehe

  • i hate being an INFP. school+INFP does not mix

  • Not to be freaky :) Im an INFP/J female, Ive wondered for quite a while about where I miander in between INFJ and INFP... but i digress, we are all individual, but it was wierder than weird watching this. Seems I may have a good bit of INFP in me XD

  • Ahhh, well... this was weird XD

The qoute ' Id rather I was hated for who i am, than loved for who im not' - I cant remember the exact words, but its from Kurt Cobain, and its a fav of mine too :) The Fountain is an awesome film, I was absorbing the soundtrack earlier. Im also a flutist :) and I could also win an award for Umming and Erring. I was trying to describe to someone, the whole thing surrounding being socially anxious - you intuitively sense what a person is thinking, feeling.

  • I'm an INFP and when I watch videos made by other INFPs I usually think "Man, I would really get along with this person." Thanks for the video!

  • god, this is me. ha. love this. it feels wonderful to know others exist with such a similar internal wiring.

  • "I don't have to analyze it, I can just absorb it." I can relate to this experience of movies and I'm an ENFP. For this reason, I care more about the "feel" of a movie than the action, plot, or dialogue. Naturally, I also like The Fountain, as it is definitely a "feel" movie.

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • Test would always come up as INFP but internally I could relate more to INFJ. Are they very similar?

  • Well done vid, couple losers comments there, dont wrry about that, clueless. You sound just like I had guessed. :)

  • Does anyone think that INFPs are generally drawn to art or music? I know I am I'm just wondering if it's a rule. Anyone?

  • I have trouble with knowing if I'm a INFP or an INFJ, and in a lot of ways I think they're pretty similar. But this video is awesome and I completely get not wanting to know about the history of the art or music, i just want to experience it or "absorb" it.

  • The only thing i did while i watched this video was Smile!:)

How can u not like fiction?..read Jeffery Archer-'A prisoner of birth' ....its excellent ....u ll rediscover fiction....and about the first line i wrote, not true...i wrote it while u rambled ..:P

A very cute video...loved it....wish u all the best for ur life

    -INFP

  • Awe, this was a great vid. Such a sweetness and courage. You may like Edward Hoppers artwork and check out a group called Prefab Sprout btw. As an INFP I hear you, god you're so adorable.

  • Takes me a while to write... as I have to feel like expressing lol

While I can't recall much, I feel you. I don't know what to say, or don't have much to say as to why I like, really like something that matters a great deal to me. All I know is that I feel something, but it's rare that they ask me about it as I am feeling it...

  • i couldnt understand anything you said were you chewing pork crunch

  • your skinny your cheek lines are strong your dum

  • Very cool video. I can relate. I'm an INFP TOOO!

  • INFP girl here. Man...I am like you (not in all...cause we're unique) but hey...I've been studying the color scheme too because I have to learn how to dress better and I'm a winter too. And I get self-conscious a lot too...and there's more. I think Meyers-Bridge tests are ok. Of course we are unique...and we shouldn't be limited by tests...

I am glad there are people out there who resemble me...:)

  • I've been taking a lot of quizzes online and reading the definition of what it is to be an INFP, I can safely assume that I, too, am an INFP. From watching this, I feel that I can relate to you in many ways in how you talk about yourself in this video, which surprises me. Maybe I really am an INFP.

A lot of beautiful women in this category though, I have to say - both inside and out!

  • Before you jump the gun and announce your perception of yourself, please realize that you are worthless. Your thoughts are invaluable. There is no connection between you and a higher understanding. You. Are. Nothing.

  • @airpro689 i beg to disagree...i guess you're a pretty tough 'thinker' who can't really correlate with how people think and feel..probably insensitive and close-minded...and yes, your thoughts are also invaluable and yes, you are nothing too....please realize that...

  • 18 years old and i realize today i´m INFP. I dont know why but i feel kinda proud of that...

I start a few days ago to relate with art so when i read about INFP´s i feel like i discover myself...

i recommend everyone to get know what type are you!!!

    Sorry for my english :P

  • Very mature and charming.

    -INTP

  • that was a kurt cobain quote...i love nirvana and what they stand for.

  • Excellent vid!

  • INFP 4w5 sp/sx

  • thanks for posting this, i related to nearly every point you made. i also don't think i've ever heard a person who speaks so much like i do. odd and comforting.

"i'd rather be hated for who i am, than loved for who i am not," -- pretty sure kurt cobain was an infp as well. :) x

  • Im either intp or infp... its all new to me interesting stuff.

  • Great video, thanks for sharing and giving us all an insight into your life.

  • That was great. I'm a 17 year old INFP and in all honesty, I can completely understand what you're saying. When you were talking about art and movies and about how you don't have to analyze them, it made me think about a word I use quite often (usually to describe my own situations), which is experience. As an INFP, I feel like we see the world through different lenses and rather than just looking at and seeing reality, we experience it (like the calm warmth I feel in my chest when I see a happ

  • im all about the movie the fountain

  • Hehe... This is very exciting for me to watch as an ENFJ. I kind of get the picture now :) I really enjoy this personality type, it's so personal! Like everything is about getting to know eachother better. But I think these types are quite hard to get to know and even more difficult to find.. This type is the type of girl who would get a crush on me and be modest yet very charming towards me. Like expecting me to love their inner personality and this is all very confident!

  • why did you settle on infp? why would you want to be anything else???

  • Wow. I just learned that I'm INFP and I don't know other people like me. It's wierd watching you're video because it's a bit like watching myself. Having noone like myself to talk to makes it rather surreal seeing someone so like myself. Thanks for posting.

  • Textbook ENFP here - loved you! :D

  • it's crazy how there's really only 16 types of people in the world. I mean yeah, each of us is uniquely different in our own ways. but in terms of letter combinations we're very similar.

  • Would you be my wife ? Kitting , but will you ? :))

  • You remind me a lot of myself in this videos.

  • Very interesting video! I am an ENFP myself (with introverted tendencies at times), and wanted to see what others know about the subject. I can totally relate with the self-help books and not wanting to read music! It's almost like a treasure hunt trying to find that "right answer" isnt it? But you look for it, hoping maybe you can benefit yourself and everyone around you from it. And I totally believe that is a gift placed inside of you. It really is a beautiful thing :-) Guard that!

  • Marry me.

Just kidding. I'm an INTP, and I find myself to be very fond of INFP women, for some reason. I think it's their mannerisms.

Pretty sure Dianna Agron ( watch?v=ATz3Ff0ieH4 ) is also one. Same mannerisms as yours.

  • ever notice that every time you retake the MBTI you become "more" INFP?

  • taking a long time to decide your an INFP is such an INFP thing to do. haha

  • I've been a musician all my life (as an INFP) - in the early years I took lessons, but I would never ever learn the music sheets, I would just play it by ear and get by that way. In time my teacher gave up and we'd just have jam sessions (I loved that). All these years later, I still really don't know how to play many songs from other people, I can learn them quickly when I need to, but I loose them just as quickly - (lol). It was surprising to hear another INFP say something so similar.

  • I really wish that there were more infp personalities around, where i am from it feels a lot of the time like i am an alien and don't belong here but i also feel that that would be the case wherever i go. I met another Infp only once that i know of and she was my best friend for 11 years but some things happened in both of our lives and we lost touch. I didn't feel quite as alone when she was around. My husband is not an INFP and a lot of times i wish he were more feeling and percieving.

  • I am an INFP also, we should chat. we might hit it off. also i am in no way hitting on you just so you know i am happy married with 2 kids. anyway let me know if your interested in chatting. ;D you have a very pleasant vibe!

  • Yep you're an INFP caught in a Fi and Si loop.

  • Sorry it took you that long to realise your an INFP whilst listing the stuff you do? just like me its the INFP.. altho if your like me, youll love being the only INFP and get jelous knowing others are too cuz it kinda takes the individuality away -.-

  • @mattyhu23 I deliberately chose to list my obvious INFP attributes and interests for my "INFP Personality" video. : ) Had I created an "I'm Confused About My Type" video, a breadth of interests would have come up such as how I formerly wanted to be a police officer, that love to put together ready-to-assemble furniture, and that I'm very competitive when it comes to games (all true, by the way). Perhaps then you would have said, "Isn't it obvious?! You are an ISTP!".

  • @bey0ndaur0ra But your not.. the creative and exciting stuff is what we need to keep hunger with our jobs etc. you wanted to be a police officer- the side of us that realy wants to help people and holds that sence of values true and non corrupt. the furniture is the creative bit.. mine is my sketching and art skills. so no i wouldnt have said your an istp becuase you clearly feel from the heart more from the head for the F preferance

  • I thought I fit as a ISFP. But my test came out as INFP

  • @JonaBay Choose the one that matches yourself the most alot of tests are inaccurate and different tests show different results.

  • Your an interesting person. I feel you and your personality . I can relate to you :D

  • what about tights, do you like them? For me they are probably the garment that is most similar to my state of mind

  • You and me. we're so alike. We should date ^^

  • @ThatLonelyLoner Yeah, that does often creep me out, but it's that whole internet-anonymity thing / detachment that makes it feel less "real". If I had to play this in person to over 11,000 people whose eyes were all on me, I would probably die on the spot.

  • I used to think I was an INTP (even took a test) but nowadays I can relate more to being an INFT. I guess my T and F are mixed.

  • @megustaverlas There was even a point in time at which I believed I was INTP (tested that way quite a bit during my teenage years). In reality, I was confusing my analytical tendencies for "thinking", and after learning about Ti (introverted thinking -- an INTP's primary function) and Fi (introverted feeling -- an INFP's primary function), it was very apparent that I am not an INTP.

  • I completely agree with you when it comes to playing how you feel. I ain't that great of a singer either. I like to write my own music, as much as I love to hear other tunes over the radio, I could never copy or mimic them.

  • I am an INFP as well. I never truly trust these tests, but when I arrive at this type time after time, I think it's time to accept it. Good video!

  • I love the fountain too. I'm married to an ENFJ who hated it, but when I was able to explain it to him (probably with that P) and now he appreciates it. it's funny how NFP's can help NFJ's see things they normally wouldn't...

  • This is exactly me! How I "feel"... :)

  • i just did a test and found out im infp it was really accurate but bcoz i drink alot im afraid people dont really see the real me.Through the night to the light. As they say.

  • You're really pretty. And yeah, self-help books? I like them, too. INFP here. Probably, the best word to describe INFPs is indescribable.

  • Im an INFP too, I also had a problem feeling like I was somebody else everyday too, then about 4 years ago I kind of found myself. Anyway if your anything in real life like you are in the video then your personality is perfect . Your nice to listen to. I hope theres a lot more INFPs just like you and near by.

  • hi Im an INFP also. In a group of friends sitting around chatting, when they chat, I always look out of the window and think of irrelevant things and my soul is like not on the desk with my friends. And when my friend ask me' what are u thinking, u seem a bit quiet .' I cant really tell them what I am actually thinking ,do u hav this similar experience also?

  • @idd00772002 Well, I certainly find myself honing in on connections and speculations that arise from the current conversations of my friends, which they often find "irrelevant", although to me they are perfectly relevant. Also, I can easily convey my train of thought if asked (and actually listened to!). : )

  • As a fellow INFP, I can totally relate! You're pretty by the way :)

  • Do you ever feel limited by being labelled and categorized? I think I have an INFP personality as well but I'm fighting the whole idea.

  • @AimeeViolette I personally don't feel limited by being categorized as an INFP. In fact, it's quite the opposite experience for me -- I find a sort of freedom to be "me" by "fitting into" an accepted category. It almost permits me to be weird. : )

  • @bey0ndaur0ra its an odd dilema...we dont want to be labled.. but we want to fit in and be liked/accepted.. so being classed as an INFP does offer than acceptance.. but doesnt go with the whole " i dont want to be in a box "

  • Oh my god. INTJs and INFPs are so boring. I wish I wasn't and INTJ.

  • YAY for the Kurt Cobain quote!! I live by those words =]

  • Hi, it's amazing to me how much more calm INFPs are compared to ENFPs.

  • aah were so much alike. and i love that!

  • I'm very interested in the Meyers Briggs personality system. And I like how you value individuality. I typed an ENFP and I'm amazed at how accurate the test results were.

  • Im one too =)

  • You make me smile - as a fellow INFP, I can totally relate to what you're saying. :)

  • What a gorgeous, soothing frau. Make another video, reading the phone book will suffice.

  • @marcus3379 Thank you very much. *blush* I am indeed considering creating another video of me in a less gentle mood.

  • Comment removed

  • Everyday I am a new person... yup!

  • You stop to explain things and make sure people know what you mean when you say something (people say I repeat myself but I mean different things!) and like to be honest.... classic INFP like me :] But you are right we are all individuals :)

  • Thank you for posting this. I just found out I'm INFP. It's nice to see and hear someone like me. You're a very beautiful person.

  • I'm an INTP and I notice that your pretty similar to me. I would say the biggest difference is that INTP's analyze everything! And that we're not in tune with emotions, including our own.

  • Try reading Paulo Coelho's. I am INFP and I love his works.

  • Dude, this is awesome. Please don't take it down. I always want to take my videos down, and sometimes I do, because of the same reasons you mentioned, but don't, this is very cool.

  • I completely understand the part about being very in tune with others body language and how we Infps tend to internalize this, I've never heard someone else say this, I'm glad you did :)

  • I recently discovered that I too am an INFP and this stuff is very interesting. I have yet to meet another INFP! I would say i have a similar personality to you as well, but we all have different levels of each category so thats where the differences come in :)

    love this stuff

  • I think you are a beautifull and charming lady. I think I understand the essence of what you are saying.

Is it so that the mood, the intention of a piece of art or a conversation is that what speaks without words directly to your soul and that you are not e.g. in an inner dialog about what to say in return, or is that out of teh question?

  • INFP's are soooo cute.

  • im an INFP and can relate to and agree with everything you stated in this video. great job :}

  • Beautiful person inside and out. :-) I can see the Fi softness in you... you're definitely an INFP. I laugh that you like self-help books and not so much fiction -- me too!! I get on fiction kicks once in a while, but I like learning about other people (biographies) and through self-help type stuff. Learning how to dress doesn't come natural from me either -- I had to learn how to dress. :-P

    ~ From INFJ counterpart.

  • Art thing you talked - I have similar. I was a bit surprised when some artist described that art has always a meaning and it is a sort of communication. Felt a bit disappointed. It is cool just to watch things, artwork etc-it is like a cold wind going trough your bones. I am INTJ.

  • Great video. I could relate to so much of what you said. I suppose that is natural considering I'm also an INFP.. It's nice to hear someone other than myself think and say the things you mentioned. For example absorbing ideas or concepts, being self conscious (and how it can distract from a conversation)..Thank you for sharing.

  • @nanutree Oh wow, being self conscience is also why I have a hard time talking to people. I'm always worrying that I'm doing something wrong.

I guess practice makes perfect! If I could only get myself to practice...

  • what type is it that sees strategy in everything?

  • Perhaps we shouldn't break down personalities into types?

  • I want to be your friend. You're very similar to me, it's kinda weird. Anyways I've been struggling with career choice and apparently that is a trait of INFPs which is what I am.

  • I am a pisces & every time I read up on INFP, it just sound like the same stuff in astrology about my sign. Actually I have more scorpio qualties than pisces. i guess there is a secondary personality type that plays a role in the mix? Anyways it'a all interesting stuff & now im hooked!!

  • She sounds just like a PiSCeS..Cute face :)

  • @JamesBrownComedy Scorpio, actually. Close though...both are water signs. : )

  • Thank you very much for shearing this video, very nice initivative!

You talk so open and natural about this, and you express yourself very clearly!

I am also an INFP and I have read, and especially thought about this very much since I discovered it, and to watch this video is very interesting, it gives lively perspectives, and is very encouraging!

You seem to be a lovely person!

    Take care/Erik

  • thank you.. <3 u!!!...

  • Very insightful. It is good to know that there are other people similar to myself. I felt a strong resonance with your personality when you said that you are constantly seeking your own direction. You see my view is that in order to fully experience life, we all should "analyse" our core values and make sure that they are constantly in harmony with the way we perceive the world around us. The problem is that this thought process is never-ending, keeping us on a road that doesn't seem to end.

  • @solidsnake1447 I agree totaly about the seeking your own direction thing. I wrote it down to remind myself.

  • whats the difference between an INFP and an INFJ?

  • @liabw05 Don't let that only-one-letter difference fool you...there's a big difference. Although they are both introverted, intuitive and feeling, the functions they primarily draw upon are very different. INFP: Fi-Ne-Si-Te vs. INFJ: Ni-Fe-Ti-Se. So they basically use the opposite type of feeling, the oppsite type of intuiting, and the opposite type of thinking! I'd recommend googling the personality types and functions to learn more.

  • I can relate to the 'addiction' of self help books, hence why im watching this video. Im a 19 year old guy, and currently on the upwards slope out of the typical infp teenage depression, lol, however ive heard that being an infp means that itll be a neverending battle. mabey i have to start living in the now? mabey the grass is greener where im standing, i just have to open my eyes.

  • I agree 1000% about people telling me how to feel and not to feel, and being misunderstood. I'll keep watching but that was so important I had to comment now! Great vid.

  • i'm also an INFP & omgoshhh it's like watching a video of myself !

  • You look very chic.

This was an interesting contribution, and with your comments to kellann55, even better.

  • Wow I tuned into your thoughts and your profound. The Fountain is such an incredible film I have to say. And I can relate to self help books, I tend to have a penchant to browsing so many ideas in books and yet I sometimes wonder what have I learned in all this time. being self conscious seems to be some kind of self check, a way to hone in on our awareness of events around us and within us. Strangely I find myself resonate with many words you’ve spoken. Thanks.

  • Gosh! This is exactly how I feel! I just just recently learned of these personality types and came out as a INFP. It's so interesting!!!

  • You are beautiful :D

  • @BabyNeuron Something I need to work on is accepting compliments without giving disclaimers. So......thank you. : )

  • sheesh. it's like looking and listening to myself. sigh...

  • I'm in love with you.

  • Very nice video. I think you did a great job. As an INTP I'm scratching my head a bit about how you can change your thinking depending on your feelings (did I understand that correctly?) I actually like debating (not arguing as brikiss77 suggest). My thinking stays very stable though regardless of how I feel. I really don't trust my feelings. I love INFP's though. They are very refreshing to listen to.

  • we're learning about ourselves in a college class and we did this. before all these self-evaluations, i just thought i was weird. now i understand more about why i am the way i am. great video by the way lol n ur kinda cute too lol

  • You come across as a genuine real person. I like that.

  • @DrAdmanEdition Thank you. Strangely, at least once per week I consider removing this video because I fear that I am not accurately representing myself. I struggle to accept that it is only one of many, many facets of my personality, that it would be impossible to accurately represent myself in *any* video.

  • @bey0ndaur0ra Your reply comment was such a typical INFP saying! I'm an INFP aswell, we have ALOT in common! (no exaggeration) WORD FOR WORD, i wish i knew you in real life...

  • @bey0ndaur0ra

that's exactly why you need to make more videos lots and lots!. it is imperative you do. please.

  • very cute :)

  • Wow I can totally relate to you, as an INFP myself!!

  • Hey i'm an INFP too, nothing specific i wanted to say, just a friendly shoutout. 400 characters proved not enough (short version of what i just deleted - you have an absolutely lovely voice), so yeah. Oh and "..and i'm thinking about.. what THEY're thinking about ME.." - i knew you were gonna say that a nanosecond before i saw it :) I feel like an idiot writing all that but hey..

    Wish you well.

  • CRAAAAP....... I'm just like her. Well, having the same personality as Isable Myer Briggs and Mr. Rogers might not be so bad.

  • Hot! I loved the Fountain, and self help books too. Yup the whole thing resonated with me, I am INFP.

  • It feels good to know your not alone on this kinda thing...

  • INTP Weaknesses

Not naturally in tune with others' feelings; slow to respond to emotional needs

Not naturally good at expressing their own feelings and emotions

Tend to be suspicious and distrusting of others

Not usually good at practical matters, such as money management, unless their work involves these concerns

They have difficulty leaving bad relationships

Tend to "blow off" conflict situations by ignoring them, or else they "blow up" in heated anger<----guess where that comes from. LoL

  • it shouldn't hurt when someone doesn't like you. One less asshole to deal with. You didnt even have to do anything to get that person to fuck off . haha. Most people are fake anyways

  • @m3licAst It "shouldn't" hurt? : ) That's one of the main points I drive home in my video. So many people tell me how I should and shouldn't feel. For better or worse, I identify with my feelings. Perhaps I could rise above my emotions and be a rational observer of the situations that hurt me. But that's for another chapter in my story.

  • Nice video. 97% of what you've said is sooooo me. I have socialization difficulties as well. Most of my friends misunderstand me because I'm too emotional. Can't help it, it's just me. :)

  • I dont understand, how did you 'settle on this'. I went took the Myers-Thing questionaire and it told me I was INFP, I dont think you can just choose whatever you want.

  • @otherjr You are correct -- you cannot *choose* your type. For INFPs, though, we generally have difficulty *accepting* our type designation. I believe that the dominant and secondary functions, Fi and Ne, cause us to see ourselves in many other types and, at least initially, reject the objective indicators of our type because they don't "jive" with us.

  • i am an infp! it took me a while to figure out my type, at first I thought I was ISFJ, then ISFP, but now I know I am absolutely an INFP

  • @raggiedoll2008 I've absolutely been there! Perhaps worse though......I thought I was ISFP, ISFJ, INTP, ISTP, ESFJ and INFJ at one time or another. : ) When it comes to types, I've "been around". LOL

  • When you try to analyze things do you get angry? I do...lol. Yes I love metaphors... I'm about 52% Feeling and 48% Thinking. But I am more introverted in the sense that I have to analyze things to come to a conclusion, so that I can move on (esp a relationship) and understand why someone did something....

  • @littleflowwer Anger? No, but my tendency towards analysis often causes anxiety and obsessive, never-ending, cyclical thoughts with me. No fun at all!

  • @bey0ndaur0ra

Oh i'm an INTP. nvm. but i deff sometimes lean towards feeling. haha... I deff get other people's feelings too and sometimes i analyze how people are feeling (but I think that is because of the intuitive extraverted or w/e), so I get all these ideas about things from the exterior world and in order to help myself I try to rationalize it all out to form a bigger picture. LoL.

  • I like what you said here. I am getting ever closer to coming to terms with the idea of being an INFP. A lot of what you said made a lot of sense to me. This was a great insight in to the INFP personality.

  • One of your points I can comment on is the one about the correct interpretation of an author. I'm an INTP, and I would say that I run around with a similar kind of belief, that generally things can be determined, pinpointed etc. An ENTP friend of mine mentioned that he has a certain mystic side, the belief that certain things will never quite be known. He answered yes when I asked whether he finds a measure of comfort in that belief. Btw, didn't even notice any "hmm" 's til you mentioned them :)

  • I think I have good fashion sense, but my best friend is my fashion consultant. Sometimes I get caught in indecision, but I can trust her to choose for me.

I wish I trusted myself enough to let go without being self-conscious, but I'm so sensitive to criticism that I have a constant bubble of insecurity. Snobby people are the only ones I can't tolerate, because I feel incredibly awkward being exposed to them.

One last bit of rambling: I have my own theory that all *N*Ps have ADD. I do.

  • @blahbiddyblah1 I can relate with your sensitivity and insecurity. I think those two words, unfortunately, are high on my list of self-descriptors. I often feel "beneath" people who are confident, successful, attractive, intelligent, etc. and tend to make self-depreciating, undermining comments about myself when I'm in situations with them, as though I'm admitting to knowing my "place" around them and working at keeping myself in that place. : (

  • @bey0ndaur0ra I have the feeling that after high school, I'll finally be comfortable with myself. Have faith, dear friend. Your insecurities will melt away in time, maybe you've yet to meet someone special enough to help you accept yourself.

  • "I'm not sure how I feel about that"=story of my life. I like the "than like me for who I'm not" quote, but I don't live by that very well. I can't stand people to dislike me, I adapt to each person's pleasing. So I have mini identity crises sometimes. I value people who are raw like that.

I like fantasy, but I'm more into my own. I find myself reading Wikipedia more often than storybooks.

I hate analyzing song lyrics because they're so vague. I can't write poetry because I like direct meaning.

  • @blahbiddyblah1 I can't say that I successfully live by that quote either, but I consciously keep it in my mind for times when I want to feel like I'm in a place of power. In Lenore Thompson's book, she shares a story of an INTJ (whose inferior function is Se) woman who was disturbed by her inability to hold her own on the subway, always being smashed about by briefcases and cut in front of for seats. Her solution was to carry a briefcase of her own onto the Subway so that she could play the

  • @blahbiddyblah1 @blahbiddyblah1 same game everyone else was playing. When she attempted this, she did indeed successfully push her way through everyone and got a seat. When she looked around, feeling triumphant but stressed and exhausted, she noticed that everyone else was calm and relaxed, reading their newspapers. My point? Living by that quote doesn't come easily for me (an INFP with inferior Te). I have to consciously think about it, and I sometimes misuse it at my own and others' expense.

  • INFPs are actually quite stable all their lives, and unique in the true sense of the word. the one in a million cliche applies to INFPs, although that is not always a good thing, because it feels pretty lonely sometimes. and they may not be trendy nor extravagant in their fashion sense, but they are quirky cool and creative, and appropriate. and yes, INFPs are always picking up signals from people - signals that go beyond words. that's what the N and the P are for... :)

  • oh yeah, and the relationships/doing your own thing.....so spot on!!

  • great movie, so many things struck a chord with me

god I wish I's found out about Myers Briggs 10 years ago, would have allowed me to be me a lot easier rather than trying to change things I thought were weaknesses or failings

I would have thought it difficult being a secretary? hope it doen't drain the life blood out of you!

  • @miniphase When I was an executive assistant for a cut-throat corporation, I became disabled and developed fibromyalgia. That's "draining the life blood out of you". However, now I work for an arts education center with mom-and-pop bosses who allow me to work 95% independently, and I'm happier than ever! After years of searching for the perfect career, I realize that I don't mind my trade -- it's about feeling connected to my work and the people at my work and being able to work freely.

  • @bey0ndaur0ra You might also look into Indigo Children. You might find that you're one of them. I know that I'm also an INFP Indigo Child.

  • @GrowTheTruth I did google "Indigo Children", and my skepticism won't let me open up to this idea. I also personally have not experienced any of the indicators to any real degree. Thanks for the recommendation, though. : )

  • @bey0ndaur0ra That's alright! :)

Personally, I had to let go of my skepticism. I came to see that nothing is really known.

Often we look at life from 1-2 perspectives & say "that's the truth". But, the truth isn't just a few perspectives. The truth is a universal consciousness that embodies every perspective.

So, I give the benefit of the doubt to things others might be skeptic of, because I like to look for the truth from as many angles as possible to get the biggest perspective of it.

    ^__^

  • hey, i'm an infp too. i liked your video a lot. i can absolutely relate. especially about absorbing things, and dressing according to your own frameworks but not being able to create something new, i sometimes really envy my isfp friend for being able to do that stuff. about intellectual laziness though - i may be intellectually lazy, however, i have this overwhelming need to understand stuff and rationalize things, pin down how things work. do you ever get that?

  • I feel exactly the same when it comes to feeling art intuitively. The feelings a piece of art may conjure up. Never really wondering about the intended meaning behind the art. I wonder what the artists think of that. Does how we feel about their art inspire them? Or does it annoy them that we don't appreciate what they're trying to get across?

  • Its so weird how soooo different we look but are sort of the same. I too get self-conscious when speaking to people and seek their approval. The funny thing about the music is that I've been guitar for years but yet I haven't learned to play peoples songs because I feel that only they can play their songs/feelings. I just usually jam out on my own, left to explore worlds within worlds.

  • I comprehend almost everything you said, it is very human. I've noticed that when speaking to somone, I almost predict what they will say and create a response before it even happened. But it's nice when I'm wrong too, I like it when people surprise me. My favorite movie is Avatar, as it is visually and mentally stimulating. Take Care.
