Check for leaks around between exhaust manifolds& the engine block. Have your Exhaust manifolds machined for no leaks against the Block & she'll sound sweeter that ever! Good luck.
@Lester1Beck I owned a few yanks over the years- cadillac seville, F-150, chevvie caprice, I never had any probs with the police, obviously with something so distinctive you need to ensure that absolutely everything is spot on. I reckon something like a '57 chev, which is an iconic car, is going to attract attention like you wouldnt believe
im in the uk, my dad has a 59. he had a race with a rolls royce on the motorway in it, they both clocked around 110 MPH. sadly it is now in the garage with a seized engine and has been for around 18 years :( i will restore it one day
Beautiful car. I want one of these one day. Very expensive to buy this model in my country (New Zealand). $55,000.00 will get a average condition 2 door. I owned a 1974 Cadillac Deville years ago which cost me $4000.00 but the 1959 model is my favorite.
gotta love these cars. the 59 caddie is my favorite car all time. I hope i can get one when i get my license (got to be 18 year old in sweden) im 16 now. the 4 doors dont seem to be too expensive...
Do you think it might just of been a curiosity stop? They probably just wanted an excuse to stop you so they can look and ask you about the car.
It happened to my brother and his mustang. They circled the car as if they were looking for something, but they seemed more interested in just asking questions about it from a curious point of view.
@hawksleyart01 I agree with you on this one. I used to own and use everyday an '81 caprice classic, 305 with a drainpipe exhaust- not something you'd look at twice in the USA but over here very uncommon, I got stopped by the fuzz, and the only reason was they were interested. they didnt even check the tax disc or the tyres, wanted a look under the bonnet etc, I was happy to oblige
hi, lovely cadillac, i own a 79 cadillac seville, 5.7 and live on south coast of england, had american cars since i was 18, am 24 now, there's nothing like cruising in my barge when everyone else is in their plastic box's! gotta get a video on here of mine.
Hi, I am an American so forgive me that I do not know some of your Brit terms. So....who pulled you over 5 times and why? You'll have to educate me on the term "old bill".
yo im a teenager and i love yank tanks. im guessin that there ent many teenagers out there who want big V8 monsters in the UK (probs they want a skyline or some piece of electronic ridden crap). i jus hope that these yanks drop in value loads over the next 10 years so i can pick up my dream car really cheap (although u probs want the opposite fair enough)
Hi 34pete56: I am an American. When I was your age these wonderful automotive dinosaurs roamed the american highways by the millions, you would have loved it. If you ever plan to buy a "yank tank" (what a great term) buy a General motors car (chevrolet, cadillac, pontiac, oldsmobile) or Ford (ford, lincoln, mercury). These are usually easier to find parts for than "Chrysler Products" such as Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge. Good luck and I hope some day you get your "yank tank"

You must of been very unlucky Lester. I've owned quite a few American cars and never been pulled once.

fair play to ya. I could never get on with LHD over here.
mrspivvy 3 years ago
LHD is easy to drive over here. My first was an 83 Camaro. It took me 5 minutes to get used to it.

Left hand drive in the UK must be a bit of hassel with those narrow streets pity we could not see more of your car keep cruzen.
