  • mark it DUDE!

  • awesome performance

  • I once sold Joe Ely a bottle of Llano Blush in Lubbock... I didn't have any of his CDs on hand so I could only play the Clash while he browsed! He actually dropped a guitar pick. I still have it somewhere...

  • they put on a great show,I love their concerts

  • LOOKOUT! The Flatlanders are coming! SUMMBUDDY....hand me a nuke! Makes for an excellent ending, aka The Crazies!

  • Got my tickets for the Crighton Theater in Conroe November 19th! Can't wait to see these guys again.

  • Holy #@$%&!!!!!

  • jimmie dale's starting to look a little bit like what's his name from the rocky horror picture show.

  • Pettit's my bass teacher, lol it's so weird seeing him on a stage

  • This tune as done by Jimmie on "After Awhile," produced by the late Stephen Bruton bests this...however, I love each of these guys.

  • We were incredibly fortunate to see them at Tupelo in Londonderry - Holds about 150 people, and they blasted us, then made us cry!!!

    Rock On Flatlanders!

  • AWESOME band.

  • Quite the scam there with the full episodes and the hotbar toolbar

  • I love this. They played at the Sage Gateshead UK on 26th July, it was one of the best evenings I ever had and others said the same. Wonderful performance by all - both backing guitarists and the drummer too.

  • Damn you're kidding. Shit, would love to see these guys.

  • Jimmy Pettit on Bass played with Joe Ely in the past

  • This song is on the 'Wheels of Fortune' CD and also has been recorded by Joe Ely and Jimmie Dale Gilmore on various of their solo albums. These guys are amazingly talented, each having released scores of albums/cd's on their own. Check 'em out!

  • The core band sounds great + lead guitar and young drummer; and how about that Paul Shaffer on keys? Nice touch guys.

  • West Texas .... Gotta love it. Texas Soul.

  • The lead (electric) guitarist is Rob Gjersoe.

  • Who absolutely blows me away on the "Live from Austin City" DVD the Flatlanders recorded.

  • The Flatlanders reunited in 1998 to record a song for The Horse Whisperer soundtrack. They released "Now Again" - their first album in almost 30 years - in 2002, and have since released two more - 2004's "Wheels of Fortune" and "Hills and Valleys" earlier this year. They have toured (relatively) extensively in support of each CD.

  • Thanks for the info. This will put a big hole in my next paycheck, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

  • I recognize Joe, Jimmie Dale, and Butch. Who are the other guys in the band? When did the Flatlanders start recording again? Gotta get this cd!

  • Thanks for the link and please keep up. Cheers
