Not only are 84% white on Food Stamps in Iowa but Most people on Food Stamps are working adults in Iowa - working at minimum wage and trying to make a dent in their lives. It's very hard to live on minimum wage with families but that is the going wage in Iowa. In our town over 55% of the families are below the poverty line. Not only are 84% white on Food Stamps in Iowa but Most people on Food Stamps are working adults in Iowa - working at minimum wage and trying to make a dent in their lives. It's very hard to live on minimum wage with families but that is the going wage in Iowa. In our town over 55% of the families are below the poverty line. Bring our jobs back from Mexico and stop the corporate welfare - don't see you talking about that - more money going to corporations than people.

But, you have to look at the RATE. Blacks are 2.9% of the population yet use 9% of the food stamps, meaning they use them at 450% the rate of whites. Of course, the media leaves this out conveniently. We see it all the time.
