  • i want this played right at the end of my funeral. whenever that may be.

  • They did every song on the album better. Love it.

  • This is what was gone after Dave left. Only he would have VH do this on an album. Its called a sense of humor. Its called not taking yourself so seriously, something that plagued the VanHag era. Self-serious power ballads. Eesh, that was never VH. For every Atomic Punk there was an Ice Cream Man, Happy Trails, Big Bad Bill...and now thankfully Stay Frosty!

  • @gdwme Dude,Ill be 44 in May.My first ever R@R show was VH in Johnson City,Tn on the Diver Down tour.I will never forget it.I never thought I would get to see them with Dave again. Now,I have brand new VH music that rocks, and tix for Greensboro april 21!Kinda makes me feel younger!Dave is insane, but freakin genius!Van Halen without him just wasnt right!I hope we get at least 1 more album from them...

  • And to think there are "dudes" that insist that this is a song that Van Halen wrote.... They weren't born when Roy n Dale sang this.

  • This song blows. Only homos like it. Well...except the Will Rogers version.

  • Should have saved this for the last song on 1984. Who knew?. Welcome back Dave.

  • I sang before I cranked up the 1981 live version of "Unchained" and watched whilst the ball dropped into 2012 and played air drums to it.

  • 2012 is here! And happy trails to you!

  • This is just awesome.

  • How many hard rock bands could put this on an album? And we all loved it!

  • @atomicpunk48 not ALL of us

  • @niggafrom901... absolutely. They were never the same after David Lee left.

  • 3 people arent traveling down the happy trail

  • Love Van Halen

  • My band is covering this for our live shows.

  • THIS is what made Van Halen!!! this separted them from all other rock bands!! it was there wacky sense of humor, you can tell the had fun making music. they had there hard core rock songs, but thats why they had a song like this, big bad bill etc.. that showed the other side of the band. it was hard, but fun. and without dave, there is no Van Halen. his big ego and party all the time, and his wacky sense of humor

  • I love this. What a great way to end the album.

  • HAHA. the fat-guy tuba walk.

  • i guess van halen didnt take this album that seriously when they made it

  • @Rorschachxx1985 Sure. And that's why it's so fucking good.

  • @littleeddiemunster fair enough

  • @Rorschachxx1985 I believe as the story goes that they were just goofing around in the sound studio one day when they did this. They weren't intending to put it on the album but did it as a joke.

  • i could've never pictured van halen doing this type of song. but its still awesome!!

  • i laughed so fucking hard when i heard this song! amazing, amazing, amazing. thumbs up!

  • Happy trails to the 3 people who disliked this, go suck Lady Gaga's dick

  • JUST SING A SONG ---- AND THINK 'BOUT SUNNY WEATHER !!

  • i first heard this on WoWradio (wcradio) casually hardcore

  • this was the first song i ever listened to...

  • We had rock n roll nite at a local dance club in the mid to late eighties on Friday nights and this was always the last song played. Right before that was always 'Detroit Rock City'.

  • A couple of the guys I graduated with did this song at one of the assemblies at the tail end of my senior year... whenever I hear it, I think of them...

  • I love this version of the song. This was our graduation song in high school. We played it as we walked out with our diplomas in hand. It was great fun, but it pissed many of the adults off.

  • Shit, I remember getting pissed as a newt with my mates and all of us screaming this out in our flat in Townsville. Good to hear it again! Those were the days when you could get drunk, and the neighbours didnt give a shit and you could go to town blind rotten fucking drunk and party on till the dawn. End up with a wicked hangover alongside some horror in your bed. Ohh yeah those were the fucking days.

  • They always played this at the end of the nightly dances at the summer camp I went to.

    um, nearly 30 years ago.

  • lol well done.

  • Roy Rogers was the bomb!

  • No one has disliked this song! Who could dislike this awesome song!

Well...guess i will be the first.

    (Joking!)

  • @SerchTV you dun goofed son!

  • sunny weathaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • When my kids and I were together, we would sing this song as close to this version as we could when I had to drop them back at their mom's house. Wow, I am going to send this link to my 15 year old son.

  • Stuck in my head!!!!!!!

  • dave's laugh at the end always gets me haha

  • Smiling snails leave....Happy Trails...

  • I lmao every time hear it yes it true VH! I saw them in Detroit in .......... wait for it...... 1984!!! Cobo Areana!!!

  • who wouldnt like happy trails.

  • fucking hilarious they have comedy

  • I LOVE this song!!!!!! lol

  • bum ba deeda bum ba deeda, or...., fuck it up, fuck it up

  • Many consider this song rather silly. Indeed it is. However, it is all simply in fun; intended humor on the part of Van Halen.

  • @Mechanized0 exactly!!!

  • @globemaster68 Frankly, it's surprising that more individuals fail to understand this. Van Halen has always been about "cars, chicks, and good times," and of course humor. One only has to listen to a number of Van Halen's songs to hear the unending humorous antics of David Lee Roth.

  • @Mechanized0 i used this song to finish off the 1:06-ish left on a CD i burned the other day, was either that or a sound bite from the movie Friday - "You got Knocked the FUCK OUT!"

  • @Mechanized0

What I always considered silly is that Van Halen did this song. When I heard this song in high school (I'm dating myself, aren't I?), I kind of liked it ---and I was a HARD-CORE country music fan at the time.

  • @A1l2l2e2n4 I always found the humorous aspect of it enjoyable.

  • LOL

  • bum ba deeda lmao <3

  • that bum ba deeda thing reminds me of timon and pumbaa on lion king, this is hilarious shit.

  • are eddie and michael singing in the background?
