I ordered Larsson’s blockbuster because I’d heard so much about it and figured it must be pretty good to achieve such widespread popularity. Boy, was I wrong. If you enjoyed this book, then I have some additional reading recommendations for you: IKEA assembly instructions, a Saab 9000 owner’s manual, the side of the Absolut bottle that you’re clutching as you wistfully recall the Faulknerian prose of the Harry Potter novels.
@cakeissex Because everyone must read highbrow books all the time, as opposed to those that you might just find enjoyment in and be able to relax reading.... I appreciate your opinion on the book but there's really no need to tell me I'm stupid when I'm not.
The book theif is my all time favourite book - I'm so glad that it made your list. Highly recommend boy in stripped pyjama's, a thousand splendid suns and the lizard cage too :)
I am taking Eng Lit now and the novel I'm doing this year is Golding's Lord of The Flies, it's so dark, but I still like it :p definitely going to read the books you recommend :)
Great books! My favorites are definitely Arthur Golden's Memoirs of a Geisha and Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go. Do you have a Goodreads account? :)
Jess what are you hoping to study at uni? I've just finished an English Literature degree and you'd be perfect for it, you're so articulate and seem so passionate about reading!
@meganisobel That's actually the plan haha! I would really love to do English, it's been the subject I've been drawn to since I was really small :) I'm glad you enjoyed and thank you! x
oops, my tweet no longer makes sense.. i thought you were referring to people thumbing down your handbag video, but you meant this one! hee hee, i still love the handbag video though!. i remember reading northern lights when i was little and it had me hooked!
there's another book called A Thousand Splendid Suns also by Khaled Hosseini its really amazing it's from the point of view of an afghan woman, and another big book it's Cathedral of the Sea by Idelfonso Falcones it's a really long long book but i think might like it. xx
@missjones873 Oo I've read Atonement and really enjoyed that (wonder where that's got to haha) and I think my mum read The Crimson Petal a long time ago so a copy should be in the house - will definitely check them out, thank you :) x
OH, i've also read a Great and Terrible Beauty. It's FANTASTIC! i love books that take place in the victorian era, and the characters are amazingly written and so vivid
i loved this video because i love to read and i really liked how you didn't do what most youtube gurus do when they do 'book hauls' and just name like super 'girly'/'chicklit' books like twilight. the only one out of these i've read is the kite runner and i LOVED it! if you liked that one you should defiantely read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author, it's even better! anyways, i'm definately going to check some of these out!
@shelbiicrawford I did actually mention A Thousand Splendid Suns in the vid and I loved that one too :) Thank you lovely, I like a big of chicklit from time to time but not always haha x
whats with the dislikes? just because its not a beauty video doesnt mean you have to thumbs it down! thanks for the recomendations jess, i'm hoping to get in the pattern of reading again, out of that selection of books i've only read the book thief but i quite like the sound of the icarus girl, thanks again x
I think I read kiterunner in 2005 and I remember it was really heartbreaking but a great book at the same time! I belive we have kinda similar taste in books xxx

English 'chicks' really dont all sound like this. She is just a small proportion of the middle class people who do pronounciate words as such.
