Toronto actually has the most building construction going on right now than any other city in North America (more than twice as much as the next leading city). So skyline is ever changing...
A lot of movies that are mainstream Hollywood blockbusters were filmed in Toronto between 1990 and the present, due to a currency advantage. In most of these films Toronto didn't play itself, it played New York. Examples are Moonstruck, X-Men, True Lies, Police Academy, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Get Rich or Die Tryin, Detroit Rock City, Chicago, American Pie, etc. So it is the most recognizable city that you may not recognize.
@SkylinesHD ummm... I don't think so... Actually, the ESB, Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Statue of Liberty, even the old WTC are all more recognizable than the CN Tower!!! And I don't know a single movie that is in Toronto, but I know quite a few that are in NYC, London, and Paris!
to all the people asking if the picture at 0:14 is a model, it isnt. That picture was taken from the CN tower with a tilt shift lens. when used correctly a tilt shift lens can make a cityscape look like miniatures
@Bugstomper2 that is the actual city, as seen from the CN Tower. Whoever took this photo added the blur to create the effect of looking like a model. It was not done by the person show made this video.
@KewlBoy20 I know this is old and someone's probably already told you, but it is a model, the city of Toronto maintains a scale model of the city proper, it's in the lobby of city hall.
im surprise that toronto has over 2,200 buildings wowo if its true then , love live canada and toronto love you , and cn tower was the the worlds tallest structore till 2009 now its the second tallest after dubal :)
guess what movies that you think are filmed in NYC and Chicago are actually filmed here I researched on Toronto for months and months because i not too long moved here and wanted to know what it was about, and yeah but anyways, the skyline is much bigger now than in the pics, nice vid though
I think it is safe to say that Toronto's CN Tower is a world icon, much as the Empire State Building or Sears/Willis Tower would be in America, or the Eiffel Tower in Paris. What kid can't forget growing up playing Sim City with the option to add the CN Tower in as an add-on?
@nlosborne I can assure you that it has. Toronto's skyline has been featured in thousands of hundreds of movies that all together billions have watched.
