  • It's baal?

  • i would love, it if chuck Norris was disguised as marius then just when baal reveals himself chuck reveals himself.

  • The plate didn't deserve this!

  • don't hate on marius, if hadn't pulled the soulstone out of tal rasha in the 1st place, act 3 would be the last chapter :D

  • Stupid question but since Diablo and whoever the other one was Miphisto i think died then what happens after this. And what are those stones for. I played Diablo 2 and beat it i just never payed attention.. And also where does Diablo 3 start off at? So please if you have time explain it to me. thanks!

  • @Gazkhuul Well we don't actually know a whole lot about the natures of the Worldstone(the big red gem), or it's true power. We also don't know what exactly will happen now that is destroyed, or whether it had to be destroyed in the first place, the prophecy never says that the Worldstone HAS to be destroyed. The Soulstones were said to be a part of the Worldstone at one point. They were created by Tyrael to keep the powers of the three prime evils(Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal) contained.

  • @Gazkhuul Diablo 3 will pick up twenty years after the what happened at the end of Diablo 2(the destruction of the Worldstone). There was supposed to be an invasion from the Burning Hells, but it never happened. Blizzard has confirmed that a lot of the story in Diablo 3 will tell us more about Tyrael, and that the failed invasion had to do with one of the Lesser Evils, Azmodan, Belial. Azmodan if you don't know can be seen in the cinematic trailer Blizzard released at Blizzcon.

  • @Gazkhuul Blizzard also confirmed that this will not be the last game in the series. Keep in mind that Diablo is alive, and has been confirmed in Diablo 3. As far as I know there are two Lesser Evils left. I hope this has helped you a little bit, there is a lot to the story of Diablo lawl, someone else can correct if I am wrong on any of this. There you go!

  • I like the end of this cinematic. The music that is playing as Baal slowly walks away, is really fitting. Nicely done sequence.

  • Its been years and years since I saw this cinematic for the first time. Still, it gives me the bone chills every time I watch it !!!

  • i love the little cars in the end

  • Marius is the most stupid guy in the diablo series , he failed the world twice!

  • @AkshayDhoundiyal

Then again Marius was prety much fucked up since the begining: What diference whould have done if he refused to give the stone to Baal?, Baal would simply kill him and take the stone for himself (wich he did anyway).

  • love how souls scream starts to get loud when he hands the soulstone to Baal..

  • Terror ends but Destruction starts

  • Baal is cool as fuck

  • This is way better than the new stupid diablo 3 cinematic for kids.

  • Can someone tell me who Tal Rasha is? i have no clue lol

  • @LeikaMafian

He's a magician that sacrificed himself to imprison Baal. They stuck Baal's soulstone in his head and locked him away in the desert. The mummy face you see when Baal reveals himself is Tal Rasha's body that Baal took over after many years of wrestling for control with him.

  • @gagaplex thx but who is Duriel then? :P

  • @LeikaMafian

Duriel is one of the Lesser Evils. Baal ordered him to guard the tomb and the imprisoned Tyrael while he went off to find his brothers, Mephisto and Diablo. If you're interested in the whole lore and story aspect of it, I recommend you google for "The Arreat Summit", it's the official D2 and LoD info website by Blizzard. They have articles on Baal, Duriel and so on.

  • @gagaplex

Wasn't it Diablo himself that was with Marius in that tomb? Both Diablo and Baal went ahead to free Mephisto.

  • @Reaper1722

Oops, yeah. Diablo went to Baal and freed him with Marius, then he went off to find Mephisto. Either way, Duriel is there to guard the tomb.

I think LeikaMafian thought that Duriel was the guy with the Soulstone stuck in him from the Cinematic, thought Duriel was Tal Rasha/Baal.

  • Marius sets baal free and look what he gets...

  • @TeamDemolition1337

What's odd is that despite Diablo's more terrifying and brutal appearance, he seemed to be much nicer to Marius than Baal. Whom he owes his freedom to.

Then again, all those time he was with Marius, he's still bound to the body of that warrior from Diablo 1 and have yet to regain his full strength.

  • [Insert Star Trek-style BAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!!]

  • how did Baal fleet out of the soulstone?!?!

  • wtf?

  • Thanks for giving us expansion Marius :D

  • Diablo!!!! NOOOOOO oh well at least i destroyed him :) thats what counts

  • @Steve94C Actually that's Baal.

  • "Now its time for your reward!"

    Nooo....noooo!

    *Tentacles come out of hands*

o.o.....NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

  • @VampireofEpicness tentacle porn

  • Poor Diablo :C

  • @skullerx

    diablo???? o.o

    whatchyou smokin boy?

  • why does he cried.is he the hero i played all along.hes a one big hard PUSSY!!!!

  • @bole316 because he just damned all of humanity? and no he's not the hero you play.

  • @bole316 No, he is the one who sets Baal free, so basically he makes your job a LOT harder lol.

  • Well that sucks.

  • @nasapun AUHEUAHEUAHEUHAEUHUAEHUHAEUHAE

    LOL XD

  • 2m16s I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going...

  • This is such an awesome ending. It couldn't have been done better.

  • "You have done exactly as you were meant to do. However, I am not the Archangel Tyrael...."

If I were Marius at that moment it would be the worst feeling in the world. Knowing that I have failed the entire world, not just once, but I was dumb enough to do it a second time!

10/10 for cinematics from this game!

  • @jaylias Three times, actually. Releasing Ba'al, not shattering his stone, and finally giving it to him...

  • sensing a little bit of smeagollum in marius there

  • The unknown hero, who defeated diablo must have been incredibly powerful. By the looks of his strength and armour, it looks like a sort of warrior/knight.

  • @estagonandfire If you play the original game, the class of Warrior is the canon story. He wore heavy armour, wields powerful blades, and could use deadly magic.

The other classes from the first game make appearances. You fight the Archer in the Graveyard in Act 1, and the Summoner in Act 2 is the Mage.

  • @blackmage665 *Rogue(not Archer) and *Sorcerer(not Mage)

  • Mauris is a dumbass. If he just didnt pull out the yellow soulstone all the bull shit wouldn't happen.

  • @InfinityNubs think about it. do you really think ba'al would have let marius keep it? he probably would have just killed him faster

  • @InfinityNubs

Um, "dumbass", Baal could have grabbed the soulstone off him anytime he wished. There's no magic spell that's preventing him from grabbing it from Marius. He's just playing with Marius the whole time because he's a sadist.

  • @AidanMclaren Actually no, none of the prime evils can do harm to the whoever carrys their soulstone. Thats why he asked for it rather than taking it.

  • It truly was as Tyrael said. Marius did doom the Sanctuary by failing to destroy the soulstone.

    Hence The LoD and D3.

  • Baal uses Infernostride boots. What a noob lol

  • 2:20 - 2:54 is like the colest ever the way he just walks out and the fires burn

  • I like how the soulstones were massive in the original diablo and are practically pebbles in diablo 2.

  • @brainwasher9876

The soul-stone Marius gives "Tyrael" is just a shard. There's actually a story in the DII manual retelling how the soulstone was shattered when they tried to bind Baal in the past, and the Archmagus of the Horadrim took it upon himself to chain Baal in himself, since he was the most spiritually powerful. So he put the shard in himself, and the rest is history.

  • @AnnKalanie That's true-for Baal's specifically. However, neither diablo or mephisto had their soulstones shattered, and they were roughly the same size as seen in this movie.

  • God damn, Marius must have some bad ass bad karma xD

  • This Was such A Powerful Performance Marius Had An Increddible Voice Actor. I Remember Beating The Game Motivated by The Cutscenes At The End of The acts Because His Narration Was so

  • @adolfolicious

Completely agree: one of the best voice actors in a game I've had the pleasure of hearing.

  • Epic fail Mauris, epic fail.

    You failure.

  • i got chills the first time i saw this. i almost wish the expansion hadn't come out because this video made baal seem so much more intense than he was. it's like the brothers were defeated but now the final prime evil is released then it turned out he wasn't all that i expected

  • @Chopsuey41 Perhaps he wants it in order to escape a fate worse than death? If he has the stone, he won't allow anyone to recapture him, I think.

  • How could Baal take the stone if Ball is IN the stone?

  • @alaswoeisme Because the stone was broken when he tried to escape the Horadrims. That's why Tal Rash had to sacrifise himself in order to countain Baal (but he fail and Baal take over his soul), so Baal's soul is in Tal Rasha's body, not in the stone, or at least not totaly.

Perhaps he need the stone because a part of his power remain inside.

  • still to this day, absolutely epic

  • LOOK WHAT THE STONE HAS DONE TO ME OUGHUHTGAOHGDPHGCAUHGHOOOO

  • I love how the screams in the background intensify as Marius gives the stone to Baal.

  • @Gunasias Good point. I didn't notice that! That's a great effect they added!

  • It's not a jail, it's an insane asylum. His memories have driven him completely insane, obviously.

  • baal rolez

  • super stuff. loved the ending!

  • does marius say at the end "what have I done to desire?" shouldn't it be "deserve"?
