@bobdowne4real hi bob caught your show on saturday night in edinburgh. fantastic night of song laughs and piss taking. saw you in derby around fifteen years ago so had to come and see you again.
Your a great guy, a true entertainer lets see you on tv alot more, Bob Downe i recon you should have your own chat show your expressions will be hilarious come ITV get the show sorted. al
Hmmmm... I've never heard of Bob Downe...I was looking for something else and just happened on this..I'm watching and thinking.."this reminds me of someone"..and then it hit me...several years ago I did a show with Susan Anton and JOHN DAVIDSON.....BINGO!!!!!
hmmmm..is it me, or was that bow to the Queen just a teeeensy bit curt!!! LOL - is there an official bow? Goodness knows you were drilled about what to do & NOT do while in the line up waiting for the Queen to put that satin covered trout in your hand - but were there bowing regulations. 'You will bow to the Queen on this spot & you will make eye contact with the glitteriest thing you can see, (no not Edward) & bow moving your head in a downward motion of exactly 15 centimetres? love Susan xxxx
my very butch cousin (male) refused to join me and my mum when we went to see you at the GC Arts Centre a few years ago. his loss. loved the show, love YOU.
Why haven't we (European Continentals that is) seen and heard you Bob? I remember the first time I saw you at The Orchard (hotel) in Bournemouth, England, in the early 90s. Mesmerizing!
Thanks for posting this one Mark, love the comedy sketch in your ITV special about your royal variety experience, I must get that uploaded as I have the entire show on DVD! As always great stuff, OBE next!
From hearing their reaction on this tape the audience seemed to enjoy the visual elements of the performance but do you think they actually 'got' your act? I can imagine all the posh folk saying "Daaahling what is he doing? That's not Cliff! Is it?" Anywho - you got to meet HRH the Queen so who cares right? Hugs, Riggsy
Unless you're a HUGE star on prime time telly, they never get much... during my standup before the song, all I could see was a sea of grey heads, leafing thru their programmes. But I got there in the end and that's the main thing! ;-)
@metariane
Well get your arse over to Embra - I'm on at the Gilded Balloon until 29th Aug!

Saw Bob in Glasgow in the 90's. Was hands down (no pun intended) the funniest show I've ever seen.

You know it's a good act when they leave the stage and the audience are still laughing.
That was great.
