When you've got the person pinned, would you be saying anything to them? Something like, "Look, I don't want to fight you. If you struggle, this will hurt more"... stuff like that to discourage him from continuing?
obiwan, it would all depend on the situation. But yes, I would. For example, if it was just some idiot that took a swing at me, I'd put him down and I certainly would say something to the effect of, "look dude, let's have a beer and talk this over, ok?" But if he got up and took another swing, I think he'd hit the ground a bit harder the next time.
Fair enough! I appreciate your approach to aikido and your videos - they're very well explained, and I like how you point out weak points to a technique ("If you do it this way, your opponent will take advantage of it").
