@0utworlder: God gave us a choice. His purpose for us is to love him but to force us to be like puppets would not be genuine love. We made wrong choices but he provided a way for us to be forgiven, if only we accept it. Still a choice. Hell is essentially seperation from God's protection and provision - no hope .

The thing that makes Jesus' death the saving grace is because He lived a perfect blameless life. There is no redemption of sin without sacrifice. Blood must be shed to cover the sin. That's why the OT lambs had to be perfect. But they did it every year. Then Jesus came- lived a perfect life and then died to cover our sins. No one else is good enough. That's why no one else can do it. We're not The Son of God.
