Toss can hold the 1-1-1 by going either 1 gate expo or 15 nexus. This gives you enough economy to produce enough units to hold the attack.

usually a terran would have a bunker up by that point preventing all of that early pressure, also the fact that he was going hellion drop rather than just straight to siege tanks and banshees made that a lot more effective. But other than that, that was awesome play.

I figured Sickness' micro trick with the Warp Prism!! He loads all the units on the low ground while the Warp Prism is in it's Phasing mode on the High Ground!! The, he hits Unload All and clicks anywhere. The Warp Prism will automatically unload all units right away since it can't move!! I just tried it, and I can perform it with only 50 APM

Sickness's micro is truly awesome, but this is not a winning formula for beating 1-1-1. I would hardly even call Terran's build a standard 1-1-1. If Terran had just gotten a tank sooner, no amount of micro would have saved Sickness's units during that early harass. Where is the fast cloaked Banshee to force Protoss into a defensive stance? T losing units left and right shows a lack of attention and planning for a top Grandmaster. T could still have won if not for several severe mistakes

I think this showcases the warp prism much better. Using it to blitzkrieg your opponent with mass gateway. Not to mention you get the bonus of classic Idra Rage.

This is some really good micro, no doubt, but the Toss was already up in supply and the Terran didn't kill the prism with the 2 or 3 opportunities he had to. I think there's a future for the WP but in harass or multi pronged attacks, maybe not direct attacks.

I know this play was pretty beasty and all, but don't think that the 1-1-1 is now solved by protoss. This relies solely on the warp prism being kept alive the whole game, if that dies the whole strategy fails.

Too everyone who says "1 viking will win against this" or whatever, That's 1 less banshee the push has so you can get more zealots. This will force the Terran to disregard the warp prism and continue with the banshee push or lower their push power with one less banshee.

I think we all have the potential to micro like that. Just need a little practice and all. The problem with most players is that they see things in terms of Black and White. For example, everyone seems to be thinking "9 Pylon 12 Gate, 14 gas is standard. Therefore, this is the only viable build that I can use" instead of "Well, if I get a Pylon at 10, I can get out a Gateway earlier, and my tech will be a lot faster" or "I'm gonna see if I can at least decently micro my units like Sickess did

Take it with a grain of salt, this warp prism usage is shut down hardcore by getting a bunker, skipping the hellions and going straight for tank/raven/banshee. A reactor Barracks with constant production will instantly kill the prism. Just make sure to keep  the marines alive with help of a bunker at the ramp. Plus with earlier siege mode you wouldn't want to attack anyway :)

@wraithness really? the terran had a bunker but the warp prism just bypassed it the bunker is just a waste of time. he did have a rax constantly pumping marines but sickness was smart about keeping it safe

@skaneification He added it after 8 minutes and after losing a ton of marines. Imagine if he hadn't lost any marines at the beginning by adding a bunker much earlier, skipped the 4 hellions and went straight for tanks? He would have had alot more, if not double the amount of marines, Sickness wouldnt have been able to drop onto the tanks because the marines would shread the warp prism instantly, and dropping away from the marines would just mean he would take a ton of siege damage :)

@BuTtErWoRtH117 Incorrect statement. All races do not have equal difficulty. All races do have different playing styles. You can get to any league with any race.

However, the amount of skill gives a different advantage to each league. Protoss might be easier to go for in "Bronze leveled" skill, but yet Zerg might be way easier around "Platinum or Diamond" simply because of sometimes, for example, when macro owns micro.

Umm guys, i think we all know that the warp prism can be killed with a viking or 2. But you don't get the point.

You are succesful if you can force the Vikings with your Warp Prism play. Even if you can't do any damage (and you will do at least some damage most of the time), the production of their main army is delayed and so is their push. Thiss will buy you some time and it is easier to hold it off.

And in theory you can counter everything, this is just a new option for toss =)

Regarding all of the comments on the vikings - you guys obviously don't know the tactics behind the 1/1/1 build. it's designed to produce marines, tanks, and banshees. Not vikings. So unless the Terran scouts it, the first attack would have still done massive damage, meaning Terran is way behind from the first engagement. The rest of the game past that point was really irrelevant.

Hey Ahnaris! This strategy video was very helpful! It would be cool if you did more of these! I used this strat and it's great, but is still easy to counter with 1 viking or stim sadly, any ideas about how to respond to these counters? I tried just going and killing them, by busting up the ramp, as Day9 suggests, and that works often, but is a big gamble! Any other options if the prism get's countered?
