The tornado wasn't that big. It was only an EF-2 that caused some pretty good damage. But, be lucky it wasn't a destructive EF-5 that hit towns like Greensburg or Moore,OK in '99. If that happened, the Falcons would be playing with no roof and every building downtown would be heavily damaged or destroyed. Old neighborhoods east of Atlanta wouldn't stand a chance of not being flattened.
yeah I was there and it was a big deal. I lost my best friend there. I was in side the storm as well. it was scary. especially leaving the Georgia Dome and seeing the town that I love in shreds. I was with friends and it was a big deal. the only tornado in Atlanta.
my brother and my cousin were running and the tornado was following them...and when they got home they said oh my gosh the rain was following us and it was the tornado.
I was at Atlanta Medical Center visiting my cousin in the hospital when the tornado ripped through downtown. When I looked out the window I could see the tornado sweeping through the city. It was really scary and werid driving through the damage after it all ended even on the highway.
i was outside the Georgia Dome. i am 12. my dad and i were trying to get tickets to the uga kentucky game, which origanily wuz scheduled for that nite. we were rite outside Jocks n Jills when my mom called my dad and TRIED to tell him there was a tornado ripping through downtown. as soon as he understood, i heard what sounded like a train, looked up and dirt and cups and beer bottles were all over the place. we had to run into the CNN but the doors blew out. we made it out ok. i will never 4get
i was there to I WAS LIKE O CRAP i was preforming in the civic center and all the kids had to get in the basement and wait and the worst part was when we got because we had to watch it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in northern Florida. I had just went thru a tornado the previous month. The one I went thru was not documented by the NWS, and I'm still not sure why.
Yea, God missed them (which makes me question His all-knowingness and all-powerfulness). But don't worry, I'm sure with enough practice He'll do better next time. Can you give me a, "Yay God!"?
At least there's no serious injuries thats been reported; and hopefully no injuries at all. Not very often we heard urban cities being hit by tornado. But I may be wrong.
St. Louis has been hit several times, as has Oklahoma City. Salt Lake City was hit a couple years ago and I believe Dallas/Ft Worth has also been hit. Other than Salt Lake City one, which was weaker, I don't believe any of them has hit a downtown area recently, but its going to happen one of these years unfortunately.

No Tornado only God. Why no street cameras taped it? "Liar". Thank CNNN for worshiping the whor* and her image and cursing the Ministers of God. It's their fault. Street cameras see everthing in England Liars. He'll git them. They cursed our town and game.
Thank you for your video. It is by far one of the best I have seen so far. As a fellow Atlantan who grew up less than 3 miles from the location where the storms hit worse, it is crazy to here people talk about how bad it was. Thanks again! Sherri
These are signs for us man.. we need to help eachother out and help this world out.. we're damaging ourselves and this is the outcome of it. This is what the people from the old times predicted. It's happening now. Tsunamis, World Breaking Hurricanes, Tornados in metropolitan areas. A TORNADO HIT BROOKLYN IN 2007. We need to stop ignoring this, This isn't normal to have snow storms in Los Angeles or snow storms in Arizona. These are DESERTS. These are warnings. Meaning it will only get worse.

The next horrible natural disaster to happen next is the melting polars. It's happening at this moment as well. It has been showing up on Yahoo for the past 3 years now and NASA has been predicting it since 2004. NASA is predicting a polar shift very soon. The Earth's gravitation will throw us off as an effect from it. Even though there's no stopping it now since it's already coming, We need to prepare ourselves and warn eachother. This isn't fact but we must at least keep an open minded tought.
I live in Atlanta, and this is a punishment from God, the first drought and now tornadoes, recalling that this God created the world without borders, and hopefully you sonny perdue dies ...

Stop blaming God, it's not his fault, it's ours. God doesn't punish us, he warns us. This is a warning from God. Heck even if it wasn't a warning this is most likely a result of the climate messing up from the atmosphere. Something odd like this is a sign of the polar shift. Watch Absolute Zero, it's not a fake movie, it's based on the Mayans and the old ancient egyptians predicted. If you have doubts about these people. May I mind you the Mayans are the ones who discovered mathmatics.
i was supposed to go to downtown Alanta that night for a concert the next day we decided to leave early saturday morning, we were like half way there when we found out a tornado hit when we got to Atlanta it was pretty messed up,the concert was cancelled but i dont really care now. Thank God we didn't leave that night.
global warming my ass...why did it snow in texas and arizona....and it has been cold in chicago from october to march and they talking bout some global warming...BULL
Global Warming is when the Earth warms and creates more adverse and abnormal weather conditions. Obviously snowing in Texas and being cold in Chicago is that abnormal.
We are STILL getting bad weather in the metro area. Out here where I live in Newton County (which is about 30 mi. east of atlanta) we've received baseball sized hail and had several tornado touchdowns! SCARY!
I work at hte 73rd floor of a hotel downtown and saw the whole thing... Windows blew out and everyone was scared... This was the craziest think I have ever expierenced.. Im glad my family is ok.. I hugged them when i got home
Thanks! Sometimes news professionals have a tendency to "overwork" a story. On some events, not everything of course, it's best just to let the people there and the scene tell the story, and just shut up and roll tape. Of course you have to make the right edits, but some "raw" footage purists migh not like that editorial intrusion either!
I live very close to that area as well and there were distinct atmospheric signs outside my home that something crazy was happening! Hope you are well. hmarty
I live about 8 miles NW of the Dome probably 5 miles as the crow flies and you could hear it and the lightning display was incredible. When the hail started where I live, I new it was a tornado. Great video. Thanks for posting. Be safe! Vote2008
