I'm a beginner and could someone please explain to me what happened at 6:45? Why didn't he move his pawn to threaten the bishop, instead of exchanging his bishop?
@scienceisknolwedge Because if he does, then the black bishop takes the rook on f7 since the black king isnt pinned anymore (the pawn moved in front of it)
5:20 Kramnik sacrafices a rook by the king, black bishop takes it, white bishop takes the black one, black has to make a move (doesn't matter what, he'll lose), white rook checkmates
@damthatriver09 And Kramnik went ahead and lost the game, so much for his "superior" look lol. To be honest I've never thought that actually works. I mean, it only works if the other person is stupid enough to be bothered by the look of the opponent. Have you ever seen a video of Leko just staring at Kasparov with a cocky smile when playing againts him. I found that just pathethic from Leko, who is him againts Kasparov? Nothing. You have to trust your chess, not use crappy resources to distract.
@damthatriver09 oh by the way, looking at the video. I don't think Kramnik was actually trying to do anything like that at all. I mean, I don't think he was trying to give any "sign of intimidation" as you said. So, yeh, I disagree with you through and through. Sorry
Well that Nakamura is too late had a very good movement forward and not have noticed if you saw the move to the tower was a pretty good move and did not or rather can not say he saw
Would have it been better if Kramnik had played Ka2 on his last move? Was this win an opposition matter? I don't understand completely what happenned.
@gentilguy it wouldn't make a difference, that's just delaying the inevitable. Black would go Kd2, then white would go Kb2, then black would go Kd3 and force white to leave his only pawn unprotected and black would snatch it up and eventually lead to an easy win.
it's chess etiquette to resign early if there's no possibility of winning cuz you're just wasting everyone's time.
Blitz is like a crap shoot really. Anything can happen. If they played a 100 straight games, then you would have a better indicator who is the superior player. 1 or 2 games means nothing.

Noticed the way how Karmnik stared down on Nakamura as he was looking away. This is sign of intimidating the opponent with a superior look.

@vidas2010 If a pawn queens and there is also the starting queen in the game there must be 2 queens.

obviously nakamura could not have won if not for his frequent displays of finger dexterity. It psyches out his opponent! XD

@gentilguy yes, I think this win by Nakamura was because he had opposition on Kramnik. But what can Kramnik do to get the draw?
