A most haunting rendetion by NFAK. God bless him. This piece reminds me of Azeem Prem Ragi, probably the greatest qawal of the 20th century. You tube does not have any thing by him. Can someone post qawalis sung by Azeem Prem Ragi?

Excellent translation, but the last verse (at least the first part is) is:

"Zindagi Aaamad baraaey Bandagi, (recited)

Zindagi, Be-bandagi Sharmandagi" (not recited)

Translated it means (Urdu):

Zindagi dar haqeeqat tab milti hay jab bandagi naseeb ho,

Zindagi baghayyr bandagi kay, sahrmandagi hi hoti hay`

English Translation:

`Life begins with submission (i couldn't think of an better word)

life without submission is a shame'

This is composed in raag jaijaiwanti. Saqi bhai you should listen to Khan sahibs qawalli "Vadah karke sajan nahe aya" in raag Jaijaiwanti, kya mazza ayega. Just harmonium, tabla and those heavenly voices. Let me know if you need it.
