  • I agree that David Haas is a great dulcimer player. And I also think that dulcimer is a great looker, and has great sound, because it was made by my father, Pete Belcher. Dad made numerous good looking dulcimers while he was making them, but he had to quit making them due to health reasons.

  • That is an awesome dulcimer - I was pretty darned envious. Sending love and well-wishes to you and your father.

  • Bing,

Thanks for another great podcast. I'm amazed at the sound you guys can get out of only three strings! I'm going to try making my own dulcimer out of cigar boxes. BTW, was there a capo on Dave's dulcimer?

  • Thank you! A cigar box dulcimer sounds like it might be akin to a Diddley-Bow. Maybe a Diddley-Dulcimer? Dave was capo'd in A at the 4th fret.

  • Man, I love these podcasts. Keep them going, Bing!

  • I'm thinking a stop in Katy is going to be on the agenda as I soar down 10. Get a looksee at your natural habitat. : )

  • Ha! That is one of the reasons I wanted to learn the dulcimer-to play music from the Balkans and to sing along with it. The dulcimer has that great drone which is prevalent in the second voice of Bulgarian singing.

  • I dig your music - I can't wait to see what you do with the mountain dulcimer!

  • That was a nice looking dulcimer. Damn, but you have such well produced videos. I'm envious.

  • You mean Dave's? Yeah, it's got great sound too. Thanks!
