One unaddressed problem is a big one. Many in Ameirca believe that the entire Christian bible was dictated by some all-knowing god to his 'secretaries' on earth. Therefore, they believe that god decreed that men & women shouldn't "lay with" members of their own gender, or it's "off to the flames of hotel hell" for them. With this kind of ignorant, suspension of critical thinking, the issue becomes even more difficult to effectively compare with other human/civil rights issues, present AND past!
