Best Performance on Youtube Thanks and I'm gonna play this song in 2 weeks at my end of the year concert we wanna looka and sound like you guys but we got more people....
Great playing for such a younger orchestra. Just directors seems to take this piece at a slightly fast tempo to hide that younger musicians have trouble controlling how much bow to use, and not use the whole bow. After playing this song, rosin should be flying everywhere and strings should need retuning, good intonation! And when a player of any instrument has those same eighth or quarter notes they should played at the balance point for most sound and precision and not to mention darkness!
This is played very well, but look at about the 50-55 second mark, at the control of the bow, intonation is a big part of any performance but so is the quality of the sound, the bow should be slanted a little to the neck of the violin and close to the bridge. These are fundamentals every violin should know and should be reinforced at an early age. And at the minute mark that main melody should also be played at the bottom half of the bow (near the frog), Talk with Spata if you like, email him.
The orchestra's director, Amanda Mossey, is a very gifted music instructor. We are very lucky to have her. Thanks for your compliments... Also enjoyed watching your videos
Thanks, it is a very dynamic piece. I can't imagine how a composer comes up with the ideas for these arangements... Hope you do well with it, it's very challenging.
Is that really the original tempo because that's fast
