She had the voice of an agel; he had the voice of the ages. They seemed to know so much of life, even though they were both so young. Thank you for posting this.
I read a biography of the Carter Family and it told how Hank Williams was in love with Anita but never acted on it. It also told about the time Hank was chasing down his wife and instead ran Anita off the road and Mother Maybelle really lit into him. :)
these are the days women were WOMEN and beautiful mothers wifes etc, now days their hiv prostitutes and whores and lesbians and men haters. i sure wish i was born back then
in a short six years he wrote a hundred songs 60 top 40 hits , who do you think was more prolific? he was revered by bob dylan . his songs have been recorded by all sorts of musicians
IMAGINE THAT, I WAS A YOUNG BOY, LISTENING TO MOSTLY RADIO WAY BACK, BUT OH I HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE NOW TO LISTEN TO HANK WILLIAMS SENIOR,K HANK JUNIOR, AND NOW HANK THE iii (3RD) AND ALL THREE OF THEM TOGETHER WITH THEIR ELECTRONIC CAPABILITIES NOW THEY CAN DO ANYTHING..... BUT YES REMEMBER LISTENING TO hank senior A LOT... on the FARM, DIGGIN POTATO'S HOEING THE PLANTS AND wellll farm work is TEDIOUS WORK, but IT PUTS A LITTLE GRIT IN YA IN THE LONG RUN, AT least for me I THOUGHT SO.
they dont make artist like they used to ,imagine ,such good sound with out even digital high tech crap, they used today to make bad singers sound grate ,,haahhahah awesome video, thank you !!!
@xcesar4impx666 exactly. In those days, songs were recorded straight onto a vinly record... So you heard, what you would here goin to a live show...Now days if a mistake is made on a recording, they can smooth it out... Back then, they had to throw away the record and start over!!!
I posted a response on another posting of this same material, and I believe it was edited out, so I'll try here. My response was to a previous response there which stated that Hank's music led to Rock and Roll. I usually avoid being negative, and I agree that everyone has a right to their opinion, but on that one I can't hold back mine. Hank greatly elevated music rather than pointing it toward an artistic nose dive.
Thank you so much for uploading this. We have only a precious few of Hank's performances on film, so this is much appreciated by someone who was born after his death.
Here's another old fashion country love song in the wake of Valentines. I sort of giggle when I see this because you can see a very young Anita Carter is ga ga and shy at the same time singing face to face with Hank Williams.
Great couple
Can anyone make out what Anita is saying to Hank as they are done singing? - to me it looks like a silent "Thank You" - but not sure.

@ diexgirl 2249; She seems taken in by him...Little shy, awed, and nervous being next to him; very feminine look about this young Anita.

@KyCavalier I heard they fancied each other a lot, but that Mamma Maybelle, knowing Hanks reputation, would have none of it.

This is a powerful piece. I wish I could get some of these Opry shows starring Hank on DVD, there just doesn't seem to be much video of this legend.
