I have a great deal of appreciation for retro. Chrono Trigger's probably my favorite game ever. I just found it baffling that you think FF5 is better and more innovative than 4 or 6, both of which had more interesting plots. Ex-Death was interesting, but forgettable in all ways but his design and name.

@JohnWestMinor The plot development and character depths of both IV and VI are absolutely phenomenal, but where they excel in story they lack in gameplay. V utilized a battle system that was just unheard of for its time.

It's the most flexible and customizable system the series has ever seen, and I'm still waiting for another game to match its prowess. Innovation is NOT limited to just good story-telling -__- ...

At first, FFVII was alright, but as years went by, people just kept talking about it like it was the start of Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy VII would not have been around if it weren't for all the previous FF's. At least in my opinion. But then again, I'm literally nobody. :)

The Final Fantasy series is a video game series. Final Fantasy I - XII (with XIII and XIV having been announced) are games, some of which have spinoff games/sequels eg. FFX-2 & Crisis Core FFVII (there are way more than this though). The anime spinoff is Final Fantasy: Unlimited. There are two movies (Advent Children and Spirits Within) and a few OVAs (Legend Of The Crystal - kinda sequel to FFV; Last Order and On The Way To A Smile - both based on FFVII). Hope this helps
