  • Thank you fro encouraging me to start my own coc0nut kefiers. I am very excited!

  • Is it possible to make kefir with almond milk?

  • I saw your videos before and I have a great website for you.its called iherb.com.they have thousands of organic, vegan, raw products and supplements for the best prices.in case you'll order use code KEB068 for 5 $ off on your first purchase.personally love it

  • Thanks I'll try it. How do you know if your probotic capsules are still alive. I put mine in the refrigerator and they are still in there after 3 years.

  • Is using Appleseed a good away to make it?

  • Its a good video i like to share it with my friends, i learn from it.

  • i follow exacly your recipe. yesterday i made coconut yoghurt with probiotics. when i opened it today i was smelling realy disqusting. i even couldnt taste it and throwed it. why that happened? i put 3 capsul of probiotics. maybe that was too much? i also made cheese with probiotics. i like it. it was not like the yoghurt. but when i m done with my cheese sandiwich that smeel was like deep in my mounth. all the probiotic stuffs like that? and why my yoghurt smells like tghat :((

  • do you tighten the lid for the kefir and yogurt or just rest it on top? also, could you blend the coconut meat with the kefir liquid instead of water and then not add anything else to it?

  • Pasteurized milk has no affect on probiotics being able to culture dairy.... that's not accurate at all. But good point that you want preferably raw milk, not pasteurized or homogenized etc. However they still will make live kefir from kefir grains or yogurt.

  • Basically Im confused on how to ferment it since you didnt say what to do after you put a probiotic pill in(which I don't have obviously).

  • I got this inner eco coconut kefir with Trillions of probiotics and it is a month's worth of daily probiotics. I was wondering if I should guzzle this down since you said I can only keep coconut kefir for a week. I don't have kefir grains so I was planning on either making coconut kefir by storing it for a day in a warm place but could I mix my inner eco coconut kefir with coconut water and how could I?

  • Thank you so very much for your Wisdom but I had a question. ...Would you happen to know if one can use store bought coconut water instead of from coconutssa

  • Thank you so very much for your Wisdom but I had a question. ...Would you happen to know if one can use store bought coconut water instead of from coconuts

  • I work at a health food store and can testify to everything that you say. You would be surprised at what comes in warm. The probiotics almost ALWAYS are.

  • Hi Natasha,

Can I make the coconut yogurt with using the coconut water and coconut flesh only?

    Thanks,

    Laura

  • gr8 videos Natasha, keep it up, just wanted to clearify one thing , the first procedure you used to make kefir , did u just leave the coconut water by itself for 24 hrs and if so, how can hear something breathing in it, can i make coconut kefir without any kefir grains or probiotic capsule?

    thanks

  • will you marry me? we could run off and drink coconut kefir together

  • the probiotics are not dead because i've had digestive issues for years, now that i eat yogurt that i bought at a regular supermarket warm and toasty my stomach issues have vanished. so... you're pretty much wrong

  • @alizastaygolden lol !! warm and toasty. maybe u could be in even better shape. skin hair nails. bacteria out number the 100 trillion cells in ur bod by 10 to 1.

  • where did you buy the probiotic powder packet? what's the recommended brand?

  • When making the coconut yogurt, why not just add in kefir instead of water? that way you dont need to use the grains in cheese cloth. Would that work?

  • thankyou so much :) Im really inspired because you made it look so easy and affordable

  • I bought two tablespoons of water kefir... Now i have a lotttttttt and i dont know what to do with so manyyyyyyy

  • Hi, when you said that store-bought yogurt does not have active cultures because of pasteurization, I think its important to note that in most cases, pasteurization occurs prior to the making of yogurt. That is to say, prior to culturing. So to say that commercially produced yogurt/kefir will not have live active cultures because of pasteurized, is not accurate. You can culture pasteurized milk and coconut water. The culture only cares about sugar, which in both cases, is still in tact.

  • can i use coconut water + coconut meat to make coconut yogurt? In this video, you said add "water" I assume it's ok??

  • Hey Natash - Thanks for posting this -

I tried growing from probiotic pills and wound up throwing the batch away - Next I got some water kefir grains from Yemous. My first batch grew kind of slowly (48 hours), but it was OK. The second batch I added one teaspoon of raw cane sugar to the quart of coconut water and the results were amazing. The fizz was audible from across the room in hours and the first stage batch was done in 24. A second 24 grainless fermentation ... Yum!

  • Hi Natasha I just bought water Kefir grains from Kefirlady as you recommend it... the grains came by mail and I already am doing coconut kefir . After they grow can I use some of them to do Milk Kefir??? and what kind of milk can I use: Cow, Goat, Almond, soy??? I do like Almond milk a lot doyou think it can work???

  • Hello I used to make milk keifer but I couldn't tolerate dairy! I just discovered that you can make water Kiefer (: Alot of the recipes require sugars but I have candida and I think that would be a an issue for me. Is there a water keifer recipe with 0 sugar. Coconut can sometimes upset my stomach. I would like to buy the grains please,.....

    thank you. Rita

  • But didnt you say probiotics die if they're heated? Then doesn't mean the natural coconut probiotics are dead? And doesn't it mean when you add that probiotic pill thingie to the warm water it'll die? Also, didn't you say the probiotic pills that are sold most times are an actual scam?

I'm totally confused now, because you're using warm coconut water, and a probiotic pill.

  • Interesting. I never paid attention to kefir milk.

  • random question but would you suggest using frozen fruit for things such as smoothies or should it all be 100% fresh? Does it matter?

  • Cheeeeeezecloth. Duh....Never gave that a thought. Thanks!

    DAvid.

  • Can you I make coconut kefir using the coconut water (of young coconuts) from a store (from a carton)? It is 100% pure coconut water.

It+s really a shame that in my country it's not possible to buy young coconuts (just the brown old ones) :(

  • How to fix a pickled water kefir? My kefir has white spots on them and lately their making the water so thick. I used 4 cups spring water, 4-6tbsp of white granulated sugar, and 2 dates.

  • Thanks for the simple breakdown on how to make our own kefirs. I had one quick question. You mentioned there are a lot of probiotics in the coconut water kefir yet you added probioctics as well? Should this be done in addition to? Also, do you have a recommendation on where/what to buy? Whole Foods is always easy but not always the greatest. Thank You...

  • hey hey... do you know where I can get a starter with bifido longum in it.. or any other large bowel bacteria..?? the bodyecology diet had the essential duo starter but they don't sell it anymore..

  • hey hey... do you know where I can get a starter with bifido longum in it.. or any other large bowel bacteria..??

  • I know you are raw...we are no where near that YET, my son has gluten/dairy/yeast/etc allergies during this transition I would like to make him sourdough bread could the coconut kefir be used in a starter instead of just plain water kefir? Thanks :)

  • hey =) aweird question...once a week i put yoghurt into my vagina...because the probiotics help keeping it fresh and lovely and healthy..can you do the same with the coconut yoghurt?and can you put it on your face aswell(as a mask)? cause even though i don't eat yoghurt i don't wanna be using it when going vegan....thank you

  • This is like the anti nigella lawson, food is such a pleasure and here we have these people turning it into a science, everything has to be a long ass process, I eat my plain yogurt and make my own granola but I also enjoy desserts with obscene amounts of butter occasionally but i'm happy

This raw thing is just a damn hype, claiming everything you eat is poison,my grandparents and great grandparents are 90, 80 and 70 and they grew up without any of this nonsense

  • is there a way you can make the kefir grains??

  • they dont pasterize after they add the probiotics. they add them after pasterizationl. i would have to say you are incorrect about them. The quality of the probiotic will vary though and could be questionable. There are good quality products out there on the shelf.

  • your hair look beautiful!

  • You have the best tutorial on this subject I have found to this point. Great job!

  • i ordered kefir grains from kefirlady and mine are clear instead of brown like yours. are yours dehydrated, dairy, or something different?

  • Do the kefir ferment without oxygen?

  • Hi,I recently bought water kefir grains and put dates and prunes in by sunmade in the back it says they put potassium sorbate, will that harm my kefir grains or is that fine?

  • @TheLivingfood From what I understand, you want to use only dried fruit with no preservatives, sulfur or chemicals. They don't look pretty but work better and taste great.

  • hi Natasha I'm new to all this I'm trying to add raw food recipes in my diet . In an attempt to lose weight and the other plus benefits... I'm kind of scared to do too much and get myself sick I've never ever ate anything like this before. Thankx for all the videos and explaining you do your awesome =D

  • We're going to attemp it!!! Thx for the tips! :D

  • your vids are so great. you are simple and give great detail. keep up the great work...oh ya, you are so beautiful also!

  • I actually tried this and thought I'd be too grossed out to eat the yogurt, but it was good. Thank you! I have yet to drink the coconut water kefir.

  • When looking at probiotics in stores to add to your recipe, there are so many types and ranges. Which type must one use if they have entirely cleanses (and removed both good and bad)?

  • After a salt water cleanse and lemonade diet, I suppose I will need to replace the full range of probiotics. Rght?

Will the coconut kefir suffice as a substitute for the commercially available probiotics?

    Thanks!

  • Oh my God I just jumpd from ep.9 to this episode and you look fabulous!!!! Holy shit I'm going to start at ep.1

  • how can you tell when you have a probiotic that's alive and not dead. like you said, just cause it's in the fridge doesn't mean it's alive. so how can you tell?

  • wouldn't they just be biotics? labeling them pro is just marketing.

  • How long can I ferment coconut milk and kefir grains for?

  • This seems ''too simple''!

l want a non-dairy yogert & I;ll buy coconut milk or try & make any other type of seed milk (like rice, almond, etc.) but is this "spoiling/fermenting" process the same with any liquid?

Lastly, what is kefer? l know the actor Keifer Sutherland of 24, but what is this kefer grain?!?!

  • Natasha,

Does the jar has to be a glass jar?

  • I have some water kefir grains, if I can find some coconut water in Asian stores I would like to try your recipes too.

    Great video.

  • I haven't taken an antibiotic in 6 years. Should I still try to take probiotics? Is there any research which supports probiotics supplements being safe for the body? Is there a limit that is good for the body?

  • I am into raw foods but am not stirct or 100% about it. I usually make my own dairy yogurt but am embarking upon this vegan probiotic kefir thing. Question: if the yogurt you buy in stores is pastuerized than why does it work as a starter whenever I've made homemade yogurt from it?

  • I have probably watched this vid 4 times now... I finally got my three cultures and am trying the coconut water kefir.. it should be done later today if it is supposed to be 24 hours. but I do have a question.... what is the difference between 24 hours of no kefir grains and 24 hours with?

  • Wow, I'm excited, can't wait to try this.

  • Can you Please share your non-dairy Probiotic source. Thank you so much for post.

  • how do you make water kefir grains from dairy ones?

  • Great video! I just got into coconut kefir and while doing research I heard Truth Caulkins say you dont even need a starter. And now your the only other source I heard that from =o) Do you follow daniel vitalis at all?

  • Wow, I always thought you needed some sort of starter to ferment coconut water. Are you really sure its safe to just let it sit by itself with no starter? What if the bad bacteria takes it over instead of the good bacteria?

  • Jim Humbles MMS takes care of bad bacteria

  • Thanks for the great video! I am trying both your coconut kefir and yogurt recipes and have questions. First of all, my probiotic supplements are enteric-coated and sealed; the capsule doesn't easily open like yours. What brand are you using? Secondly, I purchased kefir grains from body ecology and it looks like a white powder and not like the little brown nuggets you show in your video. How do I get those? I like the idea of being able to re-use the grains in making yogurt to save money

  • Do the kefir grains keep growing?

Do the kefir grains ever have to be replaced or does one just strain & keep using them?

Thank you so much for all the awesome tips Natasha! :)

  • Yes the grains do keep multiplying. They live forever! Enjoy!

  • This is great. Question.

I am having trouble finding B12 in the Raw Food Diet. Can you help me on this ?

  • raw grass fed meat look up daniel vitalis

  • Whats better milk kefir grains or water kefir grains?

  • It depends on what you want to ferment? I would go with the water kefir grains.

  • Thanks so much for the video! Probiotics have been missing from my diet for a while now and I have had stomach problems my whle life- explains alot :-) Great video!

  • The probiotics will really help with your stomach issues and you may notice other improvements as well. Thanks for watching the videos:)

  • I love, love, love this video!!!! Thank you soooo very much for sharing it. I will have to give this a try.. I am new to the raw food world and have traditionally been taught to through out food that has sat too long out of the fridge :) Now I know better thanks to videos like this one. (((HUGZZZ)))

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for checking out the video!!! Wishing you all the best on your raw journey!! Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • you are awesome! thanks!

  • Fabulous!!!!!!!!!

  • Wonderful info - I'm definitely going to try this, many thanks!!

  • Awesome, Thank You!!

  • Your welcome! I have tried this and it seems to work with coconut water about a day and a half in the cupboard and nothing extra added. It tastes a little sour so I figured it was done. I did not notice any fizzing though how to y ou know for sure if it is finished?

    Thanks!

  • Sounds like its done!! You can just tell by the sour taste and definitely by the scent. The coconut water should no longer be sweet, but sour tasting. Enjoy!!

  • You video is wonderful and very informative. However it does stop and stick like every few seconds. :) I wanted to let you know. I don't know if maybe it is a youtube thing or not. many blessings.

  • Thanks for letting me know, I will look into it!!!

  • This is simple and inexpensive to follow.

    Thanks!

  • Awesome!!

  • Love the info....keep up the great work,...

  • Thank You!!!!
