  • I remember the embarrasment when Roland claimed this was the first VA synth. Everyone was like, yeah, apart from the Nordlead :)

  • @riaiaikido1 And the Prophecy... (Unless they were talking about polyphonic VA...)

  • @MrMargaretScratcher The Nordlead has four voices, 12 with the expansion.

  • damn son

  • rolland could make this synth with 32 voices but they didnt want to cause they were cheap. now it has only 8 voices like a vintage analogue synth from the 80's..

  • Hi im hope!! check out my drumming at my channel :-)

  • nice job!

  • thank god for subtitles I really love these videos THANKS!

  • Po co tyle mówić jak tylko kosmici go rozumieją?

  • knob laden virtual analog

  • I'm thinking of getting the jp8000 or the yamaha an1x...I've watch both of music track demo"s and to me the an1x sounds better...more analogue...? Yeah the jp is better looking, but it just sound to bright....any idea's?

  • @djtricks1

the an1x actually sounds quite analogue and has many professional features such as fm, sync. it is not as immediate (fewer buttons, more need to rely on menues) but soundwise it will give you more options. I used it next to real analogues and found it quite impressive.

  • Sh 1000

  • Boooorinnnggg...

  • Good For Trance and house Music ?

  • @Tonorius yes - quite the trance machine! i can tell you that guys armin and ferry, etc all have this bad boy in their studios! either this or the JP8080

  • @TheDLovas

    Thank's !!!!!!!

    Very nice ! :)

  • This demo is so lame.

  • they got it right on this one.

  • 6:19 sounds like a computer starting up

  • The Jp8000 is really one of the best synths ever! I have a synth lead solo video when I play the jp8000 if you want to check it out. =)

  • Really great sound!! What a feeling!! :)

  • It's not just the synth that is amazing but also the guy himself. He makes every synths that he touches sounds(and look)sooo attractive and after you've seen his demo, you are bound to go and look up for one on ebay.

  • excuse the typos-PRESETS-typing during break- The JP is the shit- I use it also as a sound processor for the An1x, GREAT sounding board, but a pain in the ass to program, the JP opens it right up- I actually have the JP8080 with the An1x board-prefer the pitch beand wheels-thsoe two boards, I think are the perfect set up- the late 90's just made these POWERFUL rich sound engines-even the Virus-don't have that same sound- they sound artificial- and I have played them side by side.

  • Most prests are horrible and you have to be like a damn sound engineer to get a decent playing sound - the JP has the best prests I have EVER heard- the ""mini" alone si worth buying, Fender Rhodes, Ambient, trance, and then a very inuitive interface to make them even MORE to you liking- I know hte AN1X is really good, but you have to take weeks to learn how to program, this you can jam out of the box as you gradually learn the most simple-user friendly board since the Mini Moog-all knobs!

    .

  • there is poor synths, decent synths, good synths, and Roland Synths :)

    Simply the best.:)

  • I love that soft sound!

  • i bet this is the guy that made all the original sonic music!!? lol!

  • I am looking a for a uniqque sound, again, if I want total analogue- screw the ION, theMoogs are better and much better built, better yet-the Propet 08 is incredible and buries them all because it's polyphonic and U can get them for around 2K. The supersaw and the various goodies the JP, you can create sounds that are much more diverse- but if you're rolling in dough, I'd go witht he Prophet 08, add in the An1x, you are set.

  • Yup- sounds amazing and with the controls and wave forms, super saw- it's sort of like a modern moog. deep rich sounds, and it is polyphonic- def. a best all around synth and they did a great ob, it's like a volvo, no problems ever. EVERYONE I know has had problems with the Ion, I like the digital, analoguish sound of the JP better. If you want that total Analogue, go all out and get a voyager or phatty, or better yet- the Prophet 08 -save yourself the headaches- just want to play-no hassles

  • @realguy640 actually, when it comes to midi, i have tons of frustrating issues... and i know im not alone

  • I'll never get tired about the intro in this video... It's stunning...

  • I always hear about the Alessis Ion in the company of the best VA's, but they seem to have more operational problems than a 9's Ford escort. Any other contenders that anyone wouldn think would go with these two?

  • @realguy640

My Ion had output problems. I got a JP-8000 now. If you need deeper synth engine that has mod matrix, serial and parallel filters, more LFOs, get Ion. The Ion = more "analog" than the JP-8000 but I think the Roland is more fun to program and just sounds better!

I had a MS2000, mickroKorg, Ion, the JP-8000 is staying, it really is like an analog synth with all digital controls - don't doubt those who say it's among Roland best. I am shocked when people call it just an okay synth.

  • I have a JP8080 and An1x, my first synths-played just organ/paino for a while, after a YEAR of just these synths - honestly, the Tritons (Korgs) the new motifs, even a virus I tried - does it seems they just made the VA's with more powerful synth engines in the 90's - because next to a Moog, I never felt such expressive POWER than these two keyboards, I mean a 3000 motif sounds thing and like shit next to the JP's and AN1X's same for the Korgs- I mean SYNTH sounds not immitating a flute.

  • SO much better than the Jupiter 80

  • Best synth ever made by Roland, it's that simple.

  • I... I want a keyboard. Musical keyboard like that desu. Mugi-twan will teach me~ <3

  • 5:16 IS SICK :O

  • now i know how to say 8000 in japanese, i hope it takes me far

  • Great Synth ...Great demo

  • omg subtitles!!!

  • Needs more supersaw. Also more cowbell.

  • @uglybuckling totally agree, it needs tons more cowbell, and it would have been a perfect demo if he would have really explored his studio space.

  • Super arpeggiator!!!My subwoofer starts to dance when i playing this:)

  • Roland rlz!

  • haha) cool)

  • Used by Tangerine Dream ..........

  • this man looks funny xD

  • I love my Roland JP 8000, he`s sound like an old analogue Synth, forexample Jupiter 8.

  • My God, the first tune is so Vangelis-style... Love it.

    Wonderful vids.

    Go Japan!

  • Sensei is rocking the keys pretty awesome :D

  • JP-8000 simplemente un legado para Roland, sin duda es poderoso para todos los gustos

  • ..... Welcome to neuronaluniverse.....

  • it look very professional

  • Super saw are the best!!!!!!!! (Along with low square detuned basses and ramp leads)

  • I have heard all these sounds before, but now I know where they come from.

  • lovely horn sound. Is that similar to the jupiter 8?

  • SUUPER SAW

  • I have one of these and a JP-8080 to go with it. It's an awesome synth!

  • neskutečně vynikající mašinka

  • That sounds like a really powerful synthesizer.

  • i love japan! histamarstarastararaa.... hehehehehe

  • Great demo! This guy is really good. And I love the way he says "performance"! he he

  • You are both a keynius and a genius! I will rely on your videos from now on before purchasing anything. Thanks very much.

  • Nice demo video of this! Commenters probably are meaning: After-touch as in pressure sensitivity. Just like they left off the (logically helpful) backlight on the first generation VS-880's, seems they left the after-touch off of this. I love the mod ribbon, it makes doing leads and bass lines a rush, but keyboard pressure sensitivity to sweep the filter or add some ring mod would have been the max.

  • Exelente syntetizador...

me gusta el arpegeador y los sonidos...

    exelente video.

  • Lovely synth, lovely tunes!

  • Just for sharing The JP 8000 was used by the Crystal Method, BT, Orbital, Ken Ishii, Vince Clarke, Goldie, Dave Holmes, Prodigy, Groove Armada, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, ATB, Überzone, Faithless, Gary Numan, Scooter, Konflict, William Ørbit, Paul Van Dyk, Garbage and Jean Michel Jarre

  • the opening music is beautiful

  • @BatNuklier its sounds like Mannaheim Steamroller

  • One thing that kills me about the JP-8000 is the lack of aftertouch. I mean, why in the world such a synth which begs to have aftertouch doesn't have it, heh?

  • @dvamateur sry, whats that exactly?

  • @kuladoo Aftertouch is keyboard's ability to do what a mod wheel can do, but by pressing the key down after the initial key strike. Most cheap keyboard don't have it, but JP8000 was no cheap keyboard by any means. That's why the lack of aftertouch in it puzzles me.

  • @dvamateur Actually, aftertouch does not necessarily have to control just the LFO or filter cutoff. I'm fond of the idea of using it for pitch bending.

  • @dvamateur

    true

  • @dvamateur -- hi, so "after-touch" is when the sound continues after the key is lifted, right? -- why doesn't this jp8000 not have it then? odd... sounds good, but to not keep the aftertouch is odd..

  • @deviatea No, that would be release velocity, which not too many keyboards have (Roland D-70 had it). Aftertouch is applying pressure to the key.

  • @dvamateur -- great thanks, very helpful!

  • SUPPA SAWWW

  • he is working the shit outta that thing.

  • Sounds a bit like a CS-80. (P.S. it would be cool for you to get you wonderful wings on one.)

  • I can't understand shit, but what I want to say is that "Roland" had a "distictive" sound when it comes to the "BASS." No other synth has this fatness. Very nice.

I just got a Gaia btw.

  • @LittleNegrillio Im thinking about getting a Gaia. How do you like it?

  • @LittleNegrillio many synths lack power and tightness in the lower octaves but even my mv8800 build in synth has a really clear and tight powerful low.

  • @FullFledged2010 Man, I just acquired an "Access Virus Ti2," incredible! More than 2700 presets/sounds. Really nice fat sounds, very alike the jp8000

  • @LittleNegrillio yep the virus series definitely has that low power

  • Question. I just got this Synth on eBay an it came in 3 days ago without a manuel is there any website or video tutorials on how to get used to it for a first time synth owner? Also I've figured out how the sound bank work that it goes up by 10 till 88 and you have to click on the numbers themself to get to like 17 after being on 10 and hitting 7. Only problem is I havnt heard 1-10 nor any of the 9-00 sounds? Any help?

  • I have a few questions for you my friend. I just got one of these synths 3 days ago and it didn't come with the manual, is there any website or video tutorials that can teach me how to use the synth to its best level. Also ive figured out patches and banks but the problem is when i press up or down it skips by 10 and you have to maunually click the numbers on it. Say i clicked to 10 i would have to click 7 to get to 17. Thats fine an all but 1-10 i havn't heard.

  • hi, does the JP8000 sound like this right out of the box?

Because I heard alot of people buy Patches for there synth.

  • @nicolasgeldhof Yes, thats all "on board" patches. There are in fact a lot of banks, especially Trance banks. But in this demo theres only sounds "out of the box"

  • very nice...

    thank you for that!

  • Phat phat phat!

  • Japanese have so much power in their voice. sounds like you know what you are doing ;)

  • Is there something wrong with the audio? I can't understand a word he's saying.

  • scooter band use this synth in their live shows

  • great playing. theres more to this fella than karate chops

  • It sounds so good....and is very nice looking.

  • @fromthispoint It is one of the best sounding synths and also one of the best looking ones.

  • A man who likes Vangelis can't be wrong! ;-)

  • Roland JaPanese-8000 ^^

  • I woluld like to see Rudess playing that keyboard!

  • I wish I could understand Japanese because I'm really interested as to what he's saying.

  • That Japanese dude sure can play!

  • I wish I could Afford this beauty.

  • @Medardo4Life2Death It's not expensive to buy it not. I think they're around $ 400 US.

  • @TransynthMan I meant to say "now".

  • @TransynthMan $600 about

  • The first song (0:00~1:15) is similar to Chariots of Fire by Vangelis, but the sound is definitely different.

  • I wish I could understand japanese, you make excellent demos! Thank you very much !! (:

  • @Audionized i can translate it 4 u

  • Beautiful sounds.

  • I think this is one of the best VA's ever made.

  • @renevanderwouden

It was...until the Alesis ION came around

  • and the supersaw?????????

  • does it has midi?

  • Finally a JP-8000 video with not just using supersaw sounds. Thanks! ^-^

  • すごい !
