Im 24 and have one. got it when I was like 13 I guess but I can tell you personally they are bad you modify them right and learn to ride. mine keeps up with a suzuki king quad 750 FI on trails and mud obviously a straight shot is no contest. herd you were talking about a lift. instead just go with progess shocks they are stiff and cheap but the lift they add is great and any serious bumps they soak up like butter... as if they knew what 300 riders wanted

additionally forgot to mention I added an oil cooler by perma cool... made a HUGE difference once I had the need to keep up with big bores
