@4theluvofcandy I usually do just by coincidence but I really think styles hold much better when done on freshly washed hair. It just takes my hair a long time to dry so I don't want to wet it just to do a new style
Yeah, that's what it is called. I think as long as you are on a soft pillow, it shouldn't bother you. I can keep mines twisted for about 3 hours, and take them out, and they hold pretty good. I twist mines in the Bantu Knots every now and then, just to make my roots tighter, after washing my hair. I've had my dreads since March 2008, and I seem to can't get my hair to locc up, at da root, not the new growth.
@ginufine3011 i think i'll try bantu knots after i wash my hair- you're right it would be easier than the pipe cleaner. When you say you can't get your hair to loc at the root do you mean only the bottom half is really locked? Are you free forming? or do you have loosly curled hair?
Have you tried twisting each individual locc, starting from the root to the tip, into a ball? Just another way, without using any assistance from clips and those pipe cleaners, and the curls will be tighter. I believe the curls will stay longer then a day. Work well on dry hair also. Let them stay in overnight of course
@ginufine3011 do you mean bantu knots? If so I haven't tried those but I might..I imagine they may be hard to sleep in b/c they stick out but I could be wrong.
