i kind of feel nostalgic at this too... i used to be totally into this show when I was in middle school. now, this isn't really my sort of show at all, but I heard a song or I saw a clip on here once that reminded me of this show so I went back and watched an episode and realized how much I had changed since my obsession with the OC. no matter how much I re-watch it i can't really bring back the same feelings I had for it, but they definitely bring back *a* feeling..
I think that it ended the way it did for a reason... Anyone that watches the show knows that what happens in the show is exactly how life is, and sometimes you lose the ones you love and you have to deal with it...
i have to say, i kinda like taylor and ryan together but it‘s not even CLOSE to a replacement to marissa and ryan. i guess they had to do something to keep the show going, but seriously, i think i would have preferred if the show ended earlier like after season 3 with ryan and marissa still together and not her dying.
this way, the o.c. ended with ryan and taylor and that‘s how it‘ll be remembered even though it‘s obvious ryan and marissa were meant to be together!

I'm glad they stopped it there, in fact I wish they had stopped it earlier - don't get me wrong, I don't love any show more than I love the O.C., but there is no O.C. without Marissa. Seeing Ryan and Taylor together and seeing everyone move on while Marissa was left behind was heartbreaking... well, unless you're a Ryan/Taylor fan. Ryan&Marissa forever!

These are all her mistakes and poor judge of character- all she ever did was make life difficult for ryan and dramatize everything, and she promissed she would never let anyone come between her and ryan after the oliver story but she did just that

He never understood the pain she went through and never tried to. The whole Johnny thing wasn't her fault - she was just confused. Ryan was the one who had trust issues and broke up with her, then proceeded to hook up with like three other girls after that while Marissa was left crying & heartbroken. Marissa loved Ryan so much, & she never got anything back.

I don't blame Ryan for anything in season one, but season 3? It was definitely Ryan's fault. And don't even get me started on how fast he got over her death - but then, that's the writers fault.

@XshamosasX Im a big big fan of the show, ive watched it several times and it means a lot to me cause Marissa reminds me of someone...For me 1st season was the best, after that the show was more or less going downhill / or ruined because some parts of the plot DID NOT make sense. Marissa and DJ were dating the whole summer when Ryan left, that means Marissa got over Ryan in a matter of days- that did not really make any sense

@XshamosasX Oliver was in 1st season but he was the thing that ruined Marissa & Ryan IMO , the breakup because of Oliver led to all the things in season 2 that stood between Ryan & Marissa. Bottom line is Marissa is just a poor judge of character IMO, just cant tell who is hitting on her and who is a friend, she gets attached to people because she likes to help people but shes just a terrible judge of character - luke , oliver , volchak, johnie ...

@zergb0ng Well of course she was self destructive! I'm not denying that. But that doesn't mean she was a bad person. Either way, just as her character was pulling herself together, they killed her off. Putting her on a downward spiral and killing her off as soon as she gets a little better? Not the best decision on the writers' part. And she did love Ryan - the only time she didn't trust him was with Oliver, and she proved herself after that. It's not like Ryan ever trusted her either.
