Let's say that Daigo isnt the best in japan (like they said), and justin still lost badly to him, what makes them think he'd fair any better against the REAL best player in japan, whoever that may be?
It's just kinda hypocritical for ppl to win and say "I just out played my opponent", but when they lose its, "That was a bad matchup" or "he shouldn't have been there to begin with". At some point you just gotta give credit to daigo for playing a better match.
