hey... for the all american band, did you have to play the whole thing, or only a portion? and did you have to do all three types of minor scales?

No. You need like 2 minutes of clips from concertos or solos. I used the first 2 minutes of this. And I didn't have to do scales =)

@kantalope Well, I played the rhapsody in blue solo, glissandos and all, for my school band, this year. I am the second of 3 first chair clarinets in my band, and my teachers say I am much more of a soloist than an orchestral player, which is very true.

Well this is a very hard solo. This was my audition piece for All-American band which is above all-state and I made it. You can try it and work it up though =)

Seriously awesome job, especially for a Junior in HS.

My only advise would be take your time; it sounds like fast notes get faster and faster, when there is a lot of great music in those quick phrases. Try to get a hold of some good recordings. Don't let them change your style (because you don't want to start sounding like a copy-cat), but take advantage of them. Listen to them and take what you like and throw out what you don't.
