  • James Spader <3

  • This movie is chicken soup for the 20th century kid's soul. Jon Cryer was an epic doosh tho. Guns Gershon was the unsung hero in this film.

  • 38 people were born in 1990.

  • The Furs' original version is much better; I don't know why the movie made the band re-record the song. The original is available here on you tube, but the site won't allow me to post the link in this comment.

  • でも引き下がらないの(西岡語のまま)

  • @TehNemoz

    yes,

    i said so to かまプロ

  • i d never realised how much butler wanted to be Bowie before..love the furs..but the mime moves to every line in this vid is almost unbearable..bless

  • Is this about furrys?

  • @redfoxbennaton what? :s

  • @TehNemoz You know those people who dress up in animal costumes?

  • @redfoxbennaton Oh yeah I know, but this is deff not about furries, just an odd question to see on a video like this

  • love the 80s

  • @PAMAROSHOUSE Me too

  • i wish i grew up in that generation and i'm 22...todays world sucks major dick...

  • @ThaMunchkin007 umad

  • @ChriskOsborne ha..very funny

  • Andrew・・・X still now・・

  • its funny Ducky is thinner;not picked so much

  • I'm NOT liking this version!

  • Whenever I watch a video from a past decade, the number 1 comment is almost always something like " Wow! the __ was the best decade ever for music!" I don't think one decade is necessarily better than another. I just think whatever music you were listening to between the ages of 12 and 22 is what your going to hold onto. That being said, God I miss the 90’s hey-day of grunge!

  • やった、松たか効果で並ゲット!!

    でもこれ見ると(赤)松だね?

  • Spader was to beat Andrew IF NECESSARY

  • yes getting 73 was most considerable

  • Ducky is the best!

  • Wars the song called in the movie when ther at the dance

  • Love this song and the movie. By the way I to was a child of the 80s and a teen of the 90s. Sorry to say today's music suck's.

  • Ducky was more valuable than 3

    as this film shows

    OFFICIAL

  • for an ass hole James Spader was hot in this movie.

  • <3 Ducky

  • >existence of other two?

    and one more outside

    see guitarist>3

whom he kicked off @DD site!

  • or he noticed, so attacked??

  • can i understand Andrew did not notice existence of other two?

  • he seemed upset after fuss, but when i left C,he was not, as it turned white

    he had called KN&Debbie W-CAS

  • @FuckThatShitBitch100

    and he had domestic car

  • @FuckThatShitBitch100

    yes,proud of ebisu.

  • I adore this song........and the entire soundtrack from this movie. totally classic

  • Gutted to have been born in the 90's :( I definitely missed out on the best music :')

  • Worst song on earth!!!! And what an awkward dweeb in front of the camera. He had no idea what to do with his hands.

  • @seagrovesam oh really. and you have done how many music videos?

  • This version is way better then the original, the saxaphone makes this song great

  • it's sucks to be born in the 90s. i wish i was born in the 60s or something so i could enjoy music from the 70s and 80s at that time and avoid seeing Lady Gaga posters on the streets or Katy Perry videos on TV

  • is that John Cryer?

  • @bigdsears

    yes crushed was Ducky

    back then

  • I don't really like this version. It lacks the bitter edge of the original version from way back in 81

  • He was kind a sexy..and the song 2 ..It was good time !

  • Ducky for prez!

  • GREAT tune, but the re-recording has too little of the original's flair! John Hughes had such a keen ear for soundtrack, why didn't he lobby for the original?

  • wish was 80s again i feel so old, 37 here mmm

  • @dannymiller1950 37? Hardly old at all. They say life begins at 40 anyway so what you worried about.

  • @dannymiller1950 I'm only 27 but I don't see 37 as being old. Age is just a number, true age is in someone's heart. Most people feel the need to grow up or act more mature. I find that yes you have to be mature as far as work or adult situations are concern i.e. bills etc. but if you still laugh, love, and enjoy your spare time who cares what number represents you. God willing if I see 37 I know I'll still be the same person I am today, maybe more wise but still my goofball self.

  • @ChevyDerald VERY wise words my friend!!! I appreciate them and needed to hear that. I'm the same age as Danny and I can say that sometimes when we looks at these videos, it's hard to believe that so much time has gone by. I just thought to myself that Pretty In Pink(movie) was 25yrs ago. *smh* Damn, it even hurts to say that!! LOL!!! BUT, you are ABSOLUTELY right about age just being a number. Even with maturity, you're still you at 27,37,47,57,67.....it's how you live that counts!! = ) *HUGS*

  • I'm surprised anyone remembers Muppet Babies! That was my show as an 80's child! I liked parts of the 90's as well-1993 to 1996 were the best years of my teenhood. And there were some good 90's bands in the alternative rock genre...Lush, The La's, Blur, Nirvana. It's a shame that the 90's flew by so fast and are somewhat forgotten! There was a sort of hippie revival in that decade that also faded fast...I visited Berkeley, CA often during that time, and it's so different in Berkeley now!

  • @hiracktoman9 i tried to tell someone about the shirt tales and gummy bears cartoons...they had to youtube them cause they didnt actually belive there was a gummy bear cartoon...makes me feel old

  • @hiracktoman9 I loved the hippie revival in the 90's! Blind Melon, Phish, Aleka's Attic and many other 90's hippy bands got me into Hendrix and Grateful Dead and all the old school greats. 80's and 90's were great decades for creativity in music and art and film.

  • They really need to do a sequel to this movie, high school reunion and Andie is a famous fashion designer now and Ducky is a DJ, please, please make a sequel to this !!!!!

  • If I could go back in time, knowing what I know now, how differently I would have turned out ( still not all that badly ), how differently I would have done certain things, handled people differently and this music brings it all back for me,I guess we all wish that we could have done things differently, but this music, The Furs, just drive me back to a place in time,,,,,,,,Man how I wished I had listened to my Mother !!

  • This is a lot better than this chavvy rubbish we put up with today

  • Listen to White Lies- Bigger Than Us. Its exactly the same.

  • Yes, the original version was better, but I would gladly settle for this one given the state of things today. I don't think I fully realized how awesome times were back then, but I would certainly go back in a second if I could. Did anyone ever watch The Young Ones on MTV?

  • I remember the first day MTV went on the air when I was at school....what a revelation. And the first time Pat Benatar broke bad on the pimp in Love is a Battlefield. And the Psychedelic Furs in concert (I was @ school in Richmond, VA), Black Flag, the guys from GWAR before they were famous, Slam Dancing to Romeo Void "Never Say Never" & screaming "I might like you better if we slept together"...up in each others faces. Then of course, most of us DID sleep together at some point and it WORKED !!

  • The original version is so much better, this is a re recording for the film and simply lost all the coolness of the original 82 version!

  • awsomely good group and song.take it from me that most of the posters who post cynical crap about 80's videos are 70's hippies who still think crosby ,stills and nash and simon and garfarkle are the coolest singers ever/jeeesh!!!//i'm 56 and in 1980 i wasn't even 30 yet./i lived through the 70's and 80's and let me say that the 80's were totally awesome./i forgot all about the 70's when MTV came along in 1981.the 70's suck..trust me/ the 80's rock!!.and yes-today's music sucks hamster nuts!!

  • Molly Ringwald is frakken hot. She was hot back in the 80's now she's hot AND is a MILF XDD

  • This guy very badly wants to be David bowie, but i suppose that isn't a bad thing...

  • Thanks sooo much for this!

I love it. I love it!

  • James Spader was the best part of the movie.

    deal with it.

  • Why cant Molly ever close her mouth? She's like a gaping carp.

  • Simply awesome the Furs were. To bad that you still here about the movie, but not to much about the awesome sound track. Weird.

  • he has no ears

    self-decisive.

  • problem is;he kept coming one-way ignoring her answer!

  • >said he just cheer me up BEHIND,

    this was expectable answer

    >BUT kept coming so HOT.

    this part was outrageous!

    C-magic?

  • it may be his way of cheering-up, but too loud and blowing others away!

  • @lurch321

Andrew said he just cheer me up BEHIND, BUT kept coming so HOT.

  • @lurch321

Andrew said he just cheer me up, BUT kept coming so HOT.

  • Weak. No comparison to the original version.

  • Saw them in the 80's several times and they always put on an amazing show and sounded fantastic live!

  • when MTV was MTV original clean artistic fun .... CORPORATE F "U" CC all up

  • Some useless info: this video was shot on the day after the Challenger explosion......................so the mood on the set wasn't exactly cheery.

  • I saw them last sunday at Sinner's Day here in Belgium :D

  • @virginiaxvita did they play their hits? I saw them in the 80s and go figure, they did not play this song, Heartbreak Beat, Love My Way or any of the stuff I really wanted to hear..... I mean, good for them for 'artistic integrity' but not so much for their fans, LOL....

  • Andrew's main purpose was pushing down Ducky??

  • seeing these on thursday :D

  • this is why I hate music videos

  • Oh what I wouldn't do to be a teenager when songs like this were coming out

  • @corazondeleon92 i agreeee

  • Ohhh how I miss the 80s! You can watch the whole movie here if you want-

    gomoviez . info/links_page?movie=19025

  • gotta thank Saints Row 2 for introducing me to this.

  • I thank God every day that I was around in the 80's as a child. I was not an 80's teenager, more like an 80's teenager's kid sister. I still have my old cassette tapes from the 80's and old VHS. I remember MTV music videos like this one, Atari and Nintendo, and those fabulous cartoons for kids - Muppet Babies, My Little Ponies, He Man and She Ra, Chipmunks, etc. I finally became a teenager in high school in the 90's. But the 80's were always in my heart. I am now in my 30's

  • @AmericanEvita lol thats exeactly how i feel dam i miss those days and coming home from school and watching those cartoons ugh i need a time machine hahaha

  • @AmericanEvita OMGOODNESS you are me in another universe. I could've written that word for word,

  • @AmericanEvita You said it best. I was in school during the best years of the 80's - I cannot imagine growing up any other way. I sorta feel sorry for today's music - it just does not have it's own originality, and recording studios just pump out vocals that depend way too much on computer technology to make it sound decent....

  • @AmericanEvita Your a teenager's Twisted Kid Sister...

  • @AmericanEvita

    Me too!

  • @AmericanEvita Don't thank god you ass ! thank your' parents for ploughing!!:D haha

  • I wish I was around back then. Everything had feeling behind it. One amazing 80s hit after the other. Its like something happened that caused a wave of spectacular music and films and now it is gone. Nothing lives up to 80s..I wish they could go back to what they used back then to make it as it was. Maybe just feeling, emotion, heart. That is missing a lot in the world these days and maybe that is why. Black Eyed Peas "where is the love" is only good song I heard recently. Good because its true.

  • @sissyfit89 It was a great time! I feel bad for kids today that they couldn't grow up in the 80s, it was still a fun, innocent crazy time. I'm 36 years old now and wish things could be how they were then. We didn't have cell phones, the internet, email, Twitter, Facebook, etc. but we somehow managed to still have fun!!

  • Love this song, wish we could go back to the 80's and undo the mistakes, like the marriage, and following losers around and instead going for the best friend ever and seeing him in a different light!

  • I love this song!

    So sad can't get

    back to the 80's!

  • @karrs8000 Someone really should invest on a time machine, not only to go back to the 80s but send all the racists to the 1800s... i see no harm :D

  • @karrs8000 Great scott! All you need is a DeLorean to go back in time.

  • @karrs8000 just be fortunate that you were alive in it like me :)

  • back when men could move their hips instead of grab their crotch!

  • best music. back in the day, live music sounded the same as what was on the record. now a days, live music sounds like SHIT compared to what's played on the radio or cds.

  • All Hail the Duck Man! Such a cool character. How comes James Spader was in so damn many Brat Pack movies, but was never considered to be one of the Pack? He had more talent than any of them and does to this day. Blaine!? That's not a name, it's a household appliance. LMAO

  • Annie Potts....H-O-T.

  • I play this song on rock band 2 all the time it's awsome

  • .............isn't she.............. I missed the pistols & the 'clash' but found this & John Hughes Films, Tony Hawk, Stevie Haston, Vespa T-5 & nearly a loving marriage...never let go of your dreams,,,,,,,,,,

  • I loved Jon Cryer in this movie!

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND I LOVE THIS SONG! I wish I had a friend like Duckie

  • I studied acting with Sanford Meisner.

  • @MPL029 so...u are actor??

  • @153xristos I am...what do you do?

  • love this song was the Theme song from Pretty in Pink starring Molly Ringwald Jon Cryer and Andrew McCarthy

  • I have been a Furs fan since i was 11.i'm almost 39.I have a sentimental attachment to this song, this version because i loved the movie "Pretty In Pink"i related to it.Richard Butler is an amazing talent and a beautiful soul.

  • Molly Ringworm!! whatever happened to her?

  • @TheSpursrule4ever She invested well and now lives a quiet life in Fiji, along with her husband, 2.3 children and Rufus the family dog.

  • @TheSpursrule4ever shes on the secret life of an American teenager :D only reason to watch!!

  • @modbeatlefan thanks for letting me know!

  • yeah todays generation sux with the music, 80 s and 90 s had better tunes coming out, now it emo this and emo that, when will they realize emo is just goth , new wave , and punk imitations

  • do you know who was important back then?

    (not love affair or like)

  • the original version of this song is about 1000x better. why oh why did they re-record this totally watered down version? the original was brilliant, they shouldnt have touched it!!

  • Love this film always watching it and think 80's have the best music ever!

  • All I need it a hot tub time machine and I'd be back there tomorrow!

  • @skatepunkuk41 take me with you PLEASE!! i cant take anymore of this BEAVER CRAP!!

  • i really hate the new mellennium it just sucks i wish i was a teen in the 80's especially to go c def leppard live along with all the other ggod bands in the 80's

  • >Andrew McCarthy was better in those

i like his character in St.Elmos

  • >Everything was live

    he stick to that point

but everyone need "stability" as well you know!!

  • @evil2392 Everything was live, vocals, guitars, keyboard, and sax.

  • @evil2392 Definitely a participant.

  • heck I still have a crush on Molly

  • @webratt69 I like the bug tooth guy

  • Saw them in concert last night at warehouse live in Houston.

  • My ex-supervisor used to say, "Molly Ringwald couldn't get laid in prison with a fistful of pardons".

  • Andrew McCarthy always seemed like a crashing bore.

  • @Spartacus217 sort of. he always look like he was going to wet his pants. i think he was a bed-wetter...

  • @Spartacus217 I hate to say it, since I really didn't care for Mannequin and Weekend at Bernies like I do for a Molly Ringwald film, but Andrew McCarthy was better in those than he was in Pretty in Pink.

  • I dont know recent good things, but good thing is good thing.

  • Molly, ordinary but not ordinary girl

    (I saw this comment re;SUPERCAR)

  • Timeless classic. Still sounds AWESOME today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • You said you couldn't be with someone who didn't believe in you. Well I believed in you. I just didn't believe in me. I love you... always.

  • I'm with Zedsdead1968. I'd go back to the 80's and stay there if I could...

MTV was just a simple show with simple videos of AWESOME songs. It was shown on 1 channel in Aussie, it rocked, had real music ALL night till dawn. We would all go back to my joint and watch tunes till dawn drinkin beers that are no longer around. We did this 3-4 nights a week for something like 12 years+... I miss it those simple times.

Modern times, the world is full of lemmings...

    Oh god I'm depressed now.

  • @truespyfan

WOW! You managed to stay in the 80s for 12 whole years?! You need to publish your technology that made that possible. I think everyone who commented on this page would pay to go back to the 80s. You'd be rich.

  • "He's walking around in this dress that she wore...she's gone, but the joke's the same...pretty in pink...isn't she..."

  • The drummer has great style

  • i was born in '92 n im 17 lol ..i love 80's music i think its so much better then all of the rap crap that we have 2day...

  • @krisroxshow you are a smart man, I lived through the 80s, was a skin head, punk and romantic, saw these guys, saw the pistols, saw and lived it all, now I'm 54, and love to read comments like yours, seems if a 17 year old likes my old stuff, then it must have been good, good luck to you, I hope you listen to Clash, Jam, and New order

  • @redredreds100 lol im girl =D ...fuck yea 80's music rocks lol its got meaningful lyrics not like todays stuff..=)

  • good song, click on my name to see a cool bull dog & if your on this video i think you will like what you find....

  • I love Duckie 4eva! =)

  • It is pitty this video has a poor quality. Imo this version is better, because the guitar plays more like a guitar than in the original version. I mean the main guitar passage.

  • I LOVE being an 80's kid/teen. This is the best!

  • 1980's was one of the best decades. Ronald Regan, jelly slip ons, gaming consoles, apple iic, ford pintos, mall rats, arcades, Phoebe Cates, Aqua Net, Public Image T shirts, velcro wallets, ET, etc. The bomb!

  • @1usc2 Great list! I'd also add Izod shirts, Rubick's Cube, Sperry Topsiders, John McEnroe, Sony Walkman, Swatch, Warhol, Polo cologne, the GoGos, etc!

  • I agree with zedsdead1968!

  • Does anyone know the name of the video from the 80's where a mean guy dies and goes to hell and the devil is there and says ''That's Right ''. Thanks
