Why does Misery Signals wreck so many of the other metalcore bands out there? Because the vocalist is ARTICULATE, and even when he is growling, anyone can understand what he is saying. He knows the importance of words as a weapon, as a catharsis.

When I first heard this I was like

"WTF? This is Misery Signals?"

But I've grown to love this song, and the whole album

I was a bit iffy at first, but this song, Parallels, and Weight Of The World may be some of their finest work. They just know how to make the music ridiculously brutal, but somehow manage to make it sound almost beautiful. By far one of my favorite bands ever.

Hate to say it broski, but this is the type of music they play. The music just can't handle clean vocals. I think Karl's screams and growls are very fitting, especially considering the lyrical content. "Our fears ring true, we are numbered with the dead. When I finally come apart, every piece will now flow into the streets." So good. Karl has a real knack for lyrics too.

I'm not saying Karl should sing and I really like his lyrics too. I just think the vocals sound too agressive and that's what doesn't fit the music. But that's also to a great extent because of the production. I think Townsend did a way better job on Of Malice.
