  • yes it took him 25 years to even see that there were "possible" negative side effects. Those of us who complained and those scared to say anything because of the threats of even further ECT treatments were never interviewed or consulted. I had more than 50 series given to me before my tenth birthday. Two IQ testings given prior to my 'treatments' indicated potential intellegence so high as to be unchartable (above 200.) Test given after the series show results of 140 to 150.

  • ECT is electroconvulsive therapy. Shock treatment to assist with overcoming major depression, should really be used as a last resort when other therapeutic options do not work (i.e. pharmacological treatment) for the patient but the pro-ECT scientists and medical activists have endorsed ECT as having no side effects. Evidence suggests otherwise but controversial topic.
