STOP FUCKING LIKING MY COMMENT! There's a guy just below me who met 'Tallica in the glory days, I insist that everyone takes the time to click the little upwards thumb next to his comment. Thank You.
@skiiddo lol-thanks bro :) This particular metallica show was before my time, but i saw tons of shows in the Stone (SF)and the Omni (oakland) in the late 80's-early 90's. i saw James and Lars once at the stone right after cliff died (i think Exodus was the band that night), years later I bumped into jason newstead and jim martin of FNM at the Omni during a blues show. It was a great time for thrash metal then-Forbidden, Testament, etc...saw them all. Sad that these venues are gone.
@thylegion now right, Ron was the original bass player, but Lars had a friend making a magazine , the magazine was named metal mania and Lars took the name METALLICA and used it for the band "METALLICA" ahaha
I'm going to San Francisco end of the year. Any places of historical significance in the thrash world anybody can recommend? I've heard of ledgendary bars like the Stone, Ruthies Inn etc that i know probably don't exist anymore, but if anyone can tell me other places to see, please do. The Bay Area Crunch rules!
@gordonbrown76 might be a bit late maybe, but you could walk right past the metallica mansion if you wanted to, it's not quite as ironically shitty as it used to be, but it's there. *searches interwebzz* 3132 Carlson Boulevard in El Cerrito. The home of Exodus' manager Mark Whitaker, who let Metallica live and rehearse there starting in late '82. They didn't actually move out until around 1987, since they were on tour so much, they just lived there when they were at home :L
Hey thanks for posting this. This brings back a lot of memories of The Stone in SF where this was filmed. I saw everyone that played there in the late 80's- from Death Angel, Exodus, Voivod, Vio-lence to ronnie montorse, greg allman, even screamin jay hawkins. I met metallica hangin out at the bar. it was a real cool time to be 16.
how did you get this its lijit from 1983 i have seen the origonal but never on you tube.... what kinda day and age is this were you can look this up on you tube lol

Some cool stuff:
- This is Cliff's second ever gig with Metallica
- It is Dave's 3rd last gig with Metallica
- It is the last gig they played in SF before going to NY
- Paul Baloff and Kirk Hammett are in the crowd.
