It is a good idea, but what they didn't mention is that the main reason company cars produce more emissions is because the people driving them have the mentality of, "it's not my gas, it's not my problem."
If doing something good for the environment (i.e. saving energy) also happens to be good for business (i.e. reducing costs), then businesses will have an incentive to do good things. I think that's an overall net positive!
Fleet vehicles average nearly double the mileage, fuel consumption and emissions of personal vehicles. As a result, they are a major source of global warming pollution. Pollution by definition is waste, and waste costs money. Therefore, reducing pollution is a win for both the environment and business.
Actions such as the ones in this video are among the thousands of small steps that will help all of us reduce global warming pollution. Not taking these steps is the real fail.
What didn't you get? It goes from showing how one person reducing their emissions can affect entire companies = how small things can make huge differences. Maybe your brain is the thing that failed, not the video.
the clip opens by showing a bunch of people cleaning up a park, giving the idea that this is going to show methods for the average person to help out, then out of nowhere "So, what is fleet efficiency?" what does that have to do with people cleaning a park? at the beginning of the video i was hopeful it was going to show me a way to improve my community, rather i got an efficiency briefing for a corporation, no thanks.
This video went from attempting to show how small things make a huge difference, to a plot to help companies save billions by doing obvious things with their 'company cars'.. fail
