Kleiber coaxes the best out of this so-so orchestra. To really here this symphony in its fullest, I'd strongly recommend Kleiber's recording with the Wiener Philharmoniker on DG.

This is absolutely beautiful. This music can move every fiber of your soul. There is nothing that can compare to Brahms. The passionate motif of his life is reflected in every passage.
