  • What a touch... Great Pilot for a historic landing. Due Respect.

  • What's the song?

  • The Israelis were the one's to invent clapping after landing and thus became a tradition worldwide.

  • firsttofly group on board, Mel Wildman from Doncaster Uk won the inflight trivia challenge quiz.

  • I thought that only Polish clap after a landing ;o

  • @slawek2109 Most poles have the clap.

  • waww... its a smooth landing

  • emagine been in that qantas 737 and seeing the a380 landing

  • does avery a380 have music on? lol

  • NICE VID!

  • Is it kay if i subscribe and click the 'Like" button?

    Ooops Too Late!

  • anyone notice the loud noise from the flaps when they started to detach?

  • @Wtrxprs007able Nope!

  • @Wtrxprs007able Imagine how much power is needed to move those gigantic flaps!! now imagine the size of the engines that move them..

  • DUDE! there is a nother dudie tht was recording on that plane!! i heard the same music from the vid

  • vvvvv (this indivdual) vvvv is pretty ticked off because of all that clappin' nonsense....

  • What is the Jazz song?

  • @jhtricky229 Maputo by Bob James and David Sanborn

  • i am a commercial pilot first officer i currently work for british airways but next year i will be working for singapore airways and i have the awsome pleasure of flying one of these babies i cant wait if anybody has any questions on flying or planes please email me on mattmotley@bigpond.com

  • Whzt is the name of the pretty Jazz piece? Thanks

  • @travelplus1 Maputo by Bob James and David Sanborn

  • why not start clapping when the pilot has turned off the runnway,

Where has been times where people have clapped after a landing only to run out of runnway and crash...

  • lol why do people always clap when landing : / wtf

  • @presstrigga It was the first commercial landing of the A380 so why not clap and cheer???

  • i like how retracting the flaps is louder than these 4 engines :D

  • Massive plane what was the flight like and where was it from such a cool plane please tell who was it with

  • Massive plane what was the flight like and where was it from such a cool plane please tell

  • After long international flights like that. I love it when the passengers clap. It's just a great thing to do :)

  • Nice video dude!!!

  • I like it when a plane touches down and the people in the plane clap. :D

  • Does that thing always land that hard?

It's not really good for te fuselage...

  • @wesselg2 that was quite a nice touch down actually

  • I really hope I get to fly one of these one day. Simply amazing.

  • What song is playing?

  • @QF210 just elevator music

  • At 0:17 when the clouds shoot past the window you see how fast this huge bird is still moving.

  • how many times do you clap lol

what did she say 5000 dollars for what?

  • Please, May use this audio? I'll credit you

  • what is that sound on 3:41

  • é o som do recolhimento dos flaps

  • terrible landing hit the ground to hard

  • @kellyslater12345 its an A380...

  • @kyleb9899 A320 mate

  • @kellyslater12345

ARE YOU STUPID!?!?!?!?!?! This landing was incredible for and A380.... You do realize how much harder it is to land this then a 737 or A319....

  • now that's how its done, wat a landing!!!

  • great aircraft

  • WOW!!! There's even music on the airplane!

  • wow i didnt think that flaps were really that loud!!

  • 2:54 - 2:57

    Virgin Blue cool

  • good

    in wat class you go

  • i was in that !!!! 153f

  • awesome video

  • nice video

  • I would've liked to be on this flight.

  • coolest flap sounds ever heard

  • Awesome. Smooth landing. Amazing.

  • so if you're on the lower deck, the wings are in your way so you cannot see anything... :S that must suck...

  • @greengoblin200 many people like the view of the wing :)

  • @greengoblin200 well actually nothing blocks your view when flaps are up.... but the wings position is higher than usual so it feels a little weird. like if youre sitting at the baggage floor in a A340.... i cant describe it, you should get on one to understand lol :)

  • Hopefully they didnt play the background music during the complete flight, thatd be so damn annoying xD

  • wow what a beautiful aircraft! i waas watching one of these videos and it made such a hard landing!

  • takes a long time to stop

  • woa heavy rain at sg haha nice vid anyway 5/5

  • that's sidney, not singapore

  • thats one ugly beaver

  • Sounds like they are half gassed.

  • thanks rolls royce for quiet plane lol

  • Notice the opposing aileron action...

  • such a quiet plane

  • LOL the passengers goes mental xD

  • 5/5

  • The people gave the pilot the standing ovation that he deserved! Great landing!

  • hey was this music being played inside the plane or is it u who has added it???

  • I think it was being played. its Kenny G.

  • no it isnt

  • isn't what, being played or Kenny G

  • Kenny G. It's Maputo by Bob Jmes and David Sanborn

  • 2:00 - 2:10 the wing was pissing!

  • It's actually moisture.

  • what is pissing??

  • Wow, those flaps are noisy. =O

  • Yea, but for some reason, I like them.

  • SOFT

  • hope i get this seat or directly above it on the upper deck on my flight from SIN-NRT. perfect view!

  • the music in the background is like from a porn

  • @fejic sounds like you know that sort of music well

  • @fejic Ummmmmmm?

  • @10newsrox NO NO NO I attiuly think ur right dude!

  • @fejic UR right dude it does sound like from that

  • You had the first commercial flight? LUCKY!!

  • wow, that's amazing! very good vid and a damn nice airplane!

  • Yeah, that's cool.

  • I like how the wing bows down as the plane loses airspeed on the runway after touch down.

  • Comment removed

  • This was the first commercial flight... i.e. the first flight with paying passengers. I had nothing to do with building the plane.

  • Dude, you are so lucky!!!! : D

  • the hell's up with that dog-awful music (yeah, I meant dog cause a dog is real). I want to hear the engineering masterpiece of those turbines.

  • The music has not been added by the author of this vid, is the ambient music prior to the landing. I agree with you, is better to hear the engineering masterpiece of the turbines. :P

  • smooth landing!!

  • Wow I never knew how steady that plane is for its size, Its very impressive!

  • damn the music, i wanna hear the engines, its already hard as it is in the a380!!

  • Actually winglets and spoilers are 2 different things. Winglets are the pieces that jut up from the wing tip. Spoilers are the things on the trailing edge of the wing surface. So I guess neither of you know what you're talking about.

  • Those are actually speed breaks, not spoilers. Spoilers are located under the center of lift on the wing, which sailplanes use. Commercial airliners use speed breaks, which are located further aft on the wing.

  • When people say spoilers they mean speed breaks.

  • i LoVe Airbus A380

  • very loud aplause

  • not a great day to be on the beach, right mate?

  • Note, when an asshole claiming to be pilot meets a REAL pilot, they try to get out of it. Classic. Also, I'm surprised Airbus didn't use triple slotted flaps.

  • great vid. whe the flaps retract they sound so odd i dont know if i like it or not....almost sounds like a fire alarm

  • New hydrolics...

  • I'll help you out, they sound great - like it! lol

  • cool......how many time did the fligth last???

  • the cabin song reminds meof the movie "Passenger 57" staring Wesley Snipes.......

  • You gave yourself away. Those are called spoliers and if you were a real pilot you would know that.

"This is the method I use and works very well."

Well duh! every pilot does, most airlines demand in their SOP to arm the spoilers during the landing checklist.

    btw; in your previous message you claim;

"I pilot the A330 and used to fly the A320 for Easyjet"

    And in your profile you claim;

"I am an A330 Pilot for Cathay Pacific.

I used to fly for BA on the 777-200ER aircraft, "

    So what is it

  • loser your not even a pilot!

  • TheA330pilot, you're probably a dork kid with ambitions of flying for the airlines but the fact you're pretending to be an airline pilot indicates such a flaw in your character that it's unlikely you'll ever get to such a respected position in life.

    Loser.

  • you dont even hear nothing....

  • You mean the A320-100 (first version, no wingfences) is better then the A320-200 (main version, wingfences)? That is a very odd thing to say by a pilot. Especially because wingfences are different from winglets.

  • We clearly see the airflow over the wing during the landing, awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • just immagine the pepole's faces on other planes on the background,ATC and the pepole inside the airport

  • anyone wanna go play some football with me on the wings? I already have the zones and yard lines marked lol

  • lol

  • @Airportchris2 You dont have to be afraid. The a380 is a topmodern aircraft flown by the best pilots. Thrust me, its a million times saver then going by car or bus! And in case of engine failure, you dont crash like a stone, Aircrafts, even such a big one, can glide for a very long distance. Plus: You can land with only 2 engines running very well.

  • i'll "thrust you" lolololol

  • Planes to big, I don't trust something this big, while it is a proven aircraft, I like something that won't become a rock if a flash, if something bad happens such as engine failures.

  • The wing is bigger than Vatican City! xD! Ps: not making fun of anything this was just a joke

  • just imagine the looks on the faces of the people on the other aircraft!

  • I don't know about you, but I've never been on a flight and wished there were 100 more people on it.

  • Lol me too

  • I read somewhere that the A380 produces 30% fuel emmissions per passenger compared to the 747!

  • Well it does have newer engines, it's not the plane, it's the engines.

  • Nice landing!

  • That's a massive wing, but it looked very rigid, I expected it to flex quite some more through the heavy clouds. Thanks for the clip!

  • I thought the current a380s in operation were only equiped in a suite-like seating configuration. in this video it almost looks like you're in economy. :')

  • wtf? no, it's just like any other aircraft. theirs econmy, business and first class (or singapore airlines likes to call: suite class)

  • Thick clouds there...=)

  • What a nice plane

  • Holy crap, look at the spoilers at 2:17, there are so many of them! It looks so cool.

  • ailerons

  • Well, they are the ailerons too, but in this case they are being used as brakes to slow the plane down... do to the pilot activating the spoilers... aka speed brakes.

  • How fantastic aeronautic enginner is ....

  • at 2:14 it still looks like the plane hasent touched down like its a couple of meters of the ground

  • I like the clapping... celebrating the landing.

  • only for that flight yeah, every other flight, forget it

  • I was on that same flight. I won first class tickets on that flight from a contest.

  • I hope I made your flight comfortable :o)

  • how to be cool like you?

  • Dat is a BIG!!!....MUTHAFUCCIN......WING!!!!

  • I love the landing music. I wish all airlines did this.

  • whats with the alerions?

  • no idea... i noticed it too

  • The alerion are acting that way to keep the plane stable in-flight and to reduce turbalance effects.

  • Edge of the Wing That Help The Plane Turn

  • WOW, The wing does nott make any movements!

    5*

  • i know how sturdy

  • YEAAAAH

  • The more rigid the wing, the less sturdy it is, and its more likely to break

  • Can one ever go wrong choosing Singapore Airlines? Even a non-fan hoping to find fault will admit the task is a difficult one. The consistency with which service is dispensed, the quality of the offerings, and the seemingly perfect down to her symmetrical smile Singapore girl are some of the reasons why so many travelers choose to fly nothing else but Singapore Airlines

  • how come a380 uses 2 reverse truster.747 use 4?

  • The reason why the a380 has 2 reverse on arrival is to minimize the sound during landing.

  • actually its so that not so much debris is thrown up by the outer engines

  • I also heard it's so that they will not pick up any debris and damage the engines while doing so, because they're beyond the width of the runway. I am not 100% sure on that, but it's what I heard.

  • Good point, though keep in mind, that two of the innermost engines will always be above the runway, and also, an engine that overhangs the outer edge of the runway is much more likely to pick up debris from the grass/dirt there...You know, things like Small animals, children, workers... hehe :p

  • if im not mistaken i think it had something to do with saving wieght by eliminating reverse thrust on the outer engines...although im not sure.

  • No, actually because the wing is so long, the outer 2 engines werent able to have reverse thrusters as they hang over the ground/ near the edges of the runways, so any obstacles that may be there, and having 2 large engines would stir up alot of crap thats on the ground.

  • i think its a new feature on the a380. Not sure.

  • The chime sound means that the plane is still on the runway. It is also the same when the plane enters the runway, you get 2 chimes instead of one.

  • O yea also note then the plane exits the runway, you hear another chime. I think its a feature to let the cabin crew know where they are at.

  • Its the seatbelt sign.

  • The song is called "Maputo - Bob James" just incase anyone is wondering.

  • the sounds of the wing when they put the flaps to 0 degree it's like the sound when somebidy enters into A321

  • lol idk I think its the sound the FA use to get the passenger attention.

  • The chime sound is the wing its folding back inside lol I think they are called the flaps or something like that it supposed to help slow down the airplane but they use them on take offs as well i guess it helps with some lift as well. Correct me if im worng lol

  • Good job. I had chance flying to different places. So far, the PIA has the best pilots. Excellent landing skills.
