Most of the comments are most probably from people who do not live in Maryland. Our state is known for having excellent and beautiful hospitals giving excellent care.
This commercial is not out of place at all. Maryland is NOT a poverty state!
I mostly wanted to know who the singer is, and also the band backing him. Excellent!
The spot is great for several reasons; the familiarity of the song puts you in a receptive mood, the footage is beautiful, it covers all of the aspects people worry about when they go to the hospital... including parking, and it essentially changes the paradigm people feel in their gut when they have to go - that a hospital is tight, maze-like, and kinda smelly. Totally gorgeous and effective.
This is disgusting...Millions of people don't have health care and then we advertise this monolith like a Vegas casino. Its nice and all but we need to get back to the purpose of having a hospital ...helping heal ALL of the sick...not necessary just those who can afford it.
The most hilarious commercial I've seen in a while. I especially enjoy the man standing on the staircase at 0:49. He looks like he's trying not to fart. Classic.
Talk of the city? Oh? A nice commercial, but I want to cringe everytime I hear the guy attempting to sing the lyrics.. Marvin has got to be turning over in his grave... Sorry, not trying to offend anyone.. Again, nice commercial, nice views, but bad choice of song...
the music was produced at jeff order productions. The singer in the video is the actual voice in the recording. and to answer creative juices questions, please contact DGH productions at 410-591-7612 and we will be happy to introduce ourselves and give you our history. Don't want to bore everyone else.
travis, you missed the point, you started out by saying "people at work have been talking about the commercial". Right then and there, the commercial is a success. I work in advertising and I know that 4 other hospitals in town have commercials on tv right now. Is anyone talking about their commercials. I think it is brilliant. I'm more interested in knowing who is behind dghproductions. anyone know? Never heard of them, where are they out of?
To clarify, I think the guys who filmed the spot did a great job. Newsy looking and a bit cheesy but much better than most of the stuff that hits the air in Baltimore & DC. And I totally get what you're saying about the buzz. I'm just saying that much of local advertising isn't thought through. For example, my coworkers really believe that's an actor portraying a leprechaun and refer to the spot as "creepy". not the kind of buzz a hospital should get.
@TravisRogers1000 Again, I'm not criticizing the producer. I have a feeling they were at the mercy (get it?) of an internal marketing dept that was thinking, "hey, our name is in the lyrics! get it?" Never mind the "things ain't what they used to be..." Def not as bad as "If you have a phone, you have a lawyer", the Brick Bodies spots (which I think were filmed by a relative with a camcorder) and the horrible Joe Flacco bank commercials. All buzzworthy... in the shaking your head kind of way.
Here it is! People at work have been talking about the commercial with the leprechaun dancing on the hospital roof. It's funny and clever but it certainly doesn't make me want to go there for serious treatment.
I'm from Baltimore, and I'm ashamed of this commercial

It's quite frankly the worst commercial I have ever seen, and by far the most annoying.

Awful. I'd be worried that the surgeons would break into doo wop harmonies over my liver. Wrong mood entirely.

@wooduck45 Clever? How so? Wasting money on Las Vegas - like ads, expensive architecture? the money would be better spent on real medical care.,

it is a little cornball-ish however, it's a nice commercial.

This is not appropriate advertising for a hospital.

at the end: "now protecting you from the zombie apocalypse"

@wooduck45 Do you have some personal or financial interest in this ad firm? Can't you see how retarded this ad is???
jitenshajin 1 year ago
Is this some sort of joke?? It CAN'T be for real! What sort of marketing lame-brain would think up such an ad????
