Why did people want to keep these animals anyways ? They are not fun to keep at all...Just call animal control when u don't want it. They most likely to take care of it for free ! Stop dumping them somewhere ...
its not the pythons fault that it was released and survived and now can thrive and reproduce. it was people who caused this. so why kill all the pythons? soon they are going to be extinct because people are saying kill the burmese, its sad that this is how people think on how to solve the problem. sometimes the problem is the solution. nature will take care of it eventually
@mouse1420 They are not going to kill ALL pythons. Just the ones in the Florida everglades, they don't mean for them to go extinct. Besides, what are we supposed to do? Let the aligators and everything else down there go exinict because this overgrown invasive species is treating the ecosystem like an all you can eat buffet?
Yea right that cold snap showed all those iguanas falling out of the trees. But I doubt that curled up 30lb plus snakes froze to death. Those are the big breeders that are imposing upon the ecosystem because there aren't 200 pound rats abound like in brazil. Just deer , birds, and gators.
If the snakes start to migrate north and anybody in government really gives a shit then they can give em a bounty!
The fact is that the pythons in the everglades are barely surviving especially after the last couple of cold winters .This whole situation is blown out of proportion by the media and the Humane Society which has been pushing for snake bans for decades. Thanks to the hard efforts of the humane society hundreds of pythons and along with them other snakes will be mercilesly killed. That's humane !
HHHmmm Obviously people don't keep up to date with statistics. The cold snap in Florida has killed off a large per cent of the adult snakes. Not to mention Hurricane Andrew dumped more snakes in Florida from warehouses that were holding reptiles than pet owners have released.
It's both moronic owners and keepers - these creatures do not belong in cages - only zoo's and related educational groups. It's man made and it's sad we have to kill and create TV show to sensationalize it all. Very sad.
thats what happends when animals are introduced to and environment they dont belong in ppl need to be more responsible when buyin a snake they cant just dump it anywhere
Very good point and completely agree with you, that isnt the reason FL. Is so over populated with burmese pythons tho. Hurricane Andrew is responsible for the majority of this. Countless pet shops were hit and introduced alot of pythons to the everglades.
stop! alright bring back the pythons to the Philippines we gonna eat them for dinner.

C'mon style leaders, popularize giant python leather goods: shoes, wallets, handbags, belts, etc. Problem half solved.

If you euthanize them, maybe. Otherwise, no.
