They are great cars. Really. They are Ford's answer to the Chevy Caprice. Bulletproof. Well, kinda.
All kidding aside...
I thought it was cool that someone took the time to replace the (missing?) '86 and earlier 'cross hairs' hood ornament with a 1988-up one. They don't have quite the same caliber/class, but your video made up for it! Cheers!
I have one, and I absolutely love it. Massive trunk, a great engine that can be economical, (for a V8) and can haul ass, (for a full-size sedan) when you need. Infinite interior space, amazing ride quality, and they just look cool.
T_T Well I have the same year and everything that he has broken actually works for me. Makes me a bit more grateful but its my first car and $700 have been put into it. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
A lot of things he said are so true and so freaking funny
You're right about the Marquis and Grand Marquis being on different platforms. Learn something new everyday. The mid size ones were dull with a capital D. I imagine the larger one with a big V8 was much better.
@jakesaintsrow123 ur 85 could not have had a v-6(stock) bc the only engine that was avalible for the early-mid 80's marquis was a 5.0 liter windsor v-8 so it must of been a replacement or the previous owner must have put in a different engine
Honestly I like the 80's cars. But his Marquis was kind of blah. It threw a rod while we were driving in it that probably didnt help my impression of it. My early 80's Cutlass Cruiser station wagon w a V8. Now that car I loved.
These cars sucked. Maybe the V8 version was tolerable, but my friend had the miserably slow V6 version. The headliner was falling down, the seats made you all sweaty and felt cheap. To top it all off the engine threw a rod while we were driving in it.
The Ride is enginerred by scientists?? I suppose you believe there is really a "ponds institute" as well. But really I love the car - that and also the crown victoria. They don't sell nothin' but small cars now a days and cheap also. Sincerely,d JAMES.
I have this exact car, finally somebody reconizes how great this car is! Unfortunately I had to replace the original engine block, but soon it will be runnin great.
the engine i have in the car now is a used 84' 302 5.0 engine block. the difference is that 84' one had a throttle body injection system, And my 86' grand is a multi port injection. right now the being worked cosmeticly and mechanicly. if you want i can send you send pics
I want more videos like this. Has Rusty done any other cars? Where is this dude?
Someone let this guy borrow your car so he can worship/trash-talk it. Good stuff.

As far as the year it was the late 80's when he got given the car. I would guess the Marquis was an '85.

If it isn't to much trouble sendings pics via youtube...
The fun part is: I'm expecting delivery of a '86 colony park this very evening. It's a real 80's icon, practical AND stylish!
Thanks for the info on the multi port, I'll keep you informed!
