Thanks, I'm glad you like the music and the video.

  • @nycolas1712

    Thanks

  • Funny the first time I heard I got an egyptian vibe too I could see thousands of soldiers marching through the desert or the opening to the greatest zorro movie ever lol

  • My father told me, always when he is listening this song he has to think on a caravane going and going with camels thrue the dessert and then.....the oase is there.

  • MY FAVORITE WORLD WAR 3 SONG !!!

  • erotisch

  • It has been debated by musicologists that Ravel suffered from Alzheimer's disease when he composed this work. I also heard a lecture on P.S.B. that it is speculated that if one listens to this composition for too long, it can actually damage the brain, due to it's repetitive nature -- same lines over and over again. Beautiful though, isn't it?

  • @offyougonow1007 amazing. I don't doubt art can change our minds. When I saw a Burger King commercial, I thought the music was from the orgy scene in Conan the Barbarian, but it was Bolero. They are similar but alas, this is more repetitive.

  • I need to pause it to go somewhere but I can't. I simply can't. It is that beautiful.

  • @nexoudin

I'm glad you like it. Thanks for your comment.

  • @nexoudin Yes, indeed.

  • Mes Amies -e- et mes amis -i-,

  • die beste musik und meine pyramiden, was will *FRAU*mehr

  • A vision of trekking across the great Sahara as part of a camel train comes to mind when I hear this...Lawrence of Arabia stuff you know...an epic timeless masterpiece!

  • I first heard this song on an 8-hour drive over dirt road with my parents when I was younger, reading the Goosebumps book Curse of the Mummy's Tomb. Because of that this song has always had a distinctly Egyptian feel to me, so it was strange and pleasant to hear it accompany a video of the pyramids.

    Awesome :)

  • @losermonster

Interesting. I had an association between Bolero and the ancient Egyptians, too. That's what inspired me to make this video.

  • @FrankCoffman Strange, considering it's a French piece. And not quite 4000 years old like the mummies ;)

  • Ravel's masterpiece, fascinating rithm, moreover I love Egypt.

    Well done. Thanks for sharing

  • @tabo1601

    You're welcome.

  • Die Musik (unumstritten ) und Video genial !!! Tolle Idee....

  • @TheMedusa3463

  • Olá! wonderful. maravilhoso.

  • @mariasegal

    Thank you, my dear.

  • Remembering Digimon 1....good times

  • sounds like a war song...does it have to do something with war...?

  • @ggghhhhgg

No, this is a classical piece by French composer Maurice Ravel.

  • How I can find this movie, that showing in this video?

  • @src438

I took the movie from a DVD about Egypt.

  • This is how I always imagin that the picture was, people riding on camels through the desert.

  • Maravilhoso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg my band teacher made us hear this song today, i loved it! repetitive, but has some changes. weres the full version? :(

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SOOOO MUCH !!!

  • for me this is a perfect song for a passionate night, with candles, little drops of hot wax, massage oil and so on....

  • this video is 100% perfect

  • @szirenke53

Thanks. Yeah, except for the lack of naked women, it's not a bad video. : )

  • @FrankCoffman naked men would rather do it for me ;]

  • @szirenke53

The video has THOSE (semi-naked, that is).

Einfach genial

Unvergessen der Eistanz mit dem engl. Paar Torvill/Dean nach der Musik.

  • how enchanting...

  • Beautiful!!! This is like a video of a dream I had as a kid. I was studying my textbook on Ancient Egypt while listening to my father's tapes...Maurice Ravel's Bolero was playing. I dreamed of caravans, exotic clothes and adornments, headdresses and linens. I dreamed of the pharaohs...kings and queens, leopards and soldiers with headcoverings...Anubis...Bast...Osiris...Isis... Needless to say, that is why I enjoy history and classical music to this day. They enrich everything! Thank you!!!

  • @RosyAfterglow

Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like the combination of Ravel's Bolero with scenes of ancient Egypt. I had a similar experience with Bolero as you did when I was a kid. That's where I got my idea of putting this music with Egyptian images. Yes, the music conjures up various images. Bolero + Egypt might seem like an unlikely pairing, but it works.

  • @RosyAfterglow

Me too :) This music brings back memories when I studied history about Egypt :))

  • I Love This Song A Humble Beginning Then An Exciting Life Then Boom Death !!!

  • This piece leaves me breathless every time I listen to it. Simply amazing.

  • @syren345

    Yes, Ravel's Bolero is. mesmerizing

  • "Men fear time!" ?? :))

Generally we all, men and women fear the time... for different reasons.

But I'm now a over 30 year old grown child man, and my experience is that women have the most "fear" against TIME:

"eternal youth" = eternal "beauty" (?)

Of course also men fear the time:

    "eternal youth" = "eternal power/force" (?)

These are not my own view/opinion because i think real eternal youth, beauty, power comes from heart, mind, soul.

Thanks much 4 this good classical video & music.

  • Although this song has nothing to do with the egyptian sculptures, i love this song and the pictures, let me guess the song sounded a bit arabic right, well heres the answer>>>Spain, france conquerd by muslims and so forth >>muslims equal >>> ARABICS bingo!

  • vwlover94,

I'm glad you like Bolero with these images. You have an interesting musicological theory. Yes, Bolero sounds vaguely Arabic. The Moors left their influence in Spain, but I'm not sure about the music.

  • Frank Coffman, you've done a great job here. I've always visualized Roman soldiers marching to this music. I was informed that Ravel was thinking about machines when he composed this piece. I like what you have done very much! As I breathe in while listening I realize that there is one mind, and music is one of many universal means of communication, "Music" beautiful music. In any language it soothes the soul. Long life and happiness to you. Namaste

  • grandpanick

Thanks for your nice comments. I'm glad you like the video. Ravel's "Bolero" is an usual piece of music -- pleasingly hypnotic and compatible with different images.

  • My favourite version of this song. I could listen to it the whole day. Soooo great!!

  • Good Good Good

  • I have to admit i love this upload. Exellant video by Frank Coffman. 5 STAR RATING !!

  • donkey3214,

I'm glad you dig it. I also made an improved, longer version which is on my YouTube channel.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • I was very interested in Your video. There are great frames of ancient the pyramids , Times of Pharaohish. "Bolero" by Maurice Ravel emphasizes the contents of the video. Excellently 5* :)

  • JINCA690

Thanks, I'm glad you like my video. I also made a longer version of Bolero with Egyptian scenes. The video is on my channel.

  • the video fits very well

  • meggie1974,

    Grazie.

  • me encanta

  • ....... I thought that too, sort of slaves, heaving heavy stones to build the pyramides ............

  • Actually, extremely clear evidence shows there were no slaves, people were paid for the construction. Of course, people died, but, there's always that risk today, even though it is much safer.

  • I always thought that Bolero had a kind of desert quality to it. Pharaohish. Nice vid.

  • fooooooooooooooooda

  • Livaleriali,

  • Karak92,

I'm glad you like it. I'm curious about how you found this video if you've never heard the music before.

" Bolero" was composed by French composer Maurice Ravel in 1928.

  • Yes yes...i love the classic music, and the other types...but this...i heart Bolero times ago..and i finaly found it ^^

(sorry for my bad english :P)

  • "I'm curious about how you found this video if you've never heard the music before."
