I think this song holds alot of meaning, in different ways, for different people. It reminds me of my mom. Me and my mom had a rough relationship when i was growing up. My dad left us real early. So, my mom was left raising 7 kids on her own. We have turned out pretty good, though. Now, me and my mom are closer than ever.

I recently spent some time in the USA and was sitting in a Diner in Newport, New Jersey when I heard a song come over the music system. I didn't know the artist, but it was a catchy tune. I wrote down on a piece of paper 'a song with jackie brown in the title'.

Anyway, I got back to the UK and found the piece of paper then searched online and found it was John Cougar Mellencamp. Lovely song.

I have now purchased his greatest hits CD.
