I was so angry after this. A tenth of an inch of snow would have gotten that school closed for the day, but a high risk of severe weather + a tornado watch...and they just let the kids go on like it's nothing. Needless and senseless losses of life that could have been prevented if people would start taking severe weather more seriously than they do now (ignorantly so considering all that we know now about life threatening weather.)
@CombatSportFan I was in the school that day, and I still think that the administrators did the right thing by holding us inside the school. We all know that if they had let us all leave that we would not have gone home. There would have been people still hanging out in the parking lots and people just driving around town. I think that if they did let us leave that there would have been a lot more than 8 people that died.

This really gives perspective to life itself when tragic events like this occur. We can all learn to appreciate the delicate nature of life and how precious each moment is, god bless all down there.
It saddens me to hear of any loss of life, even more so in a tornado outbreak, I hope with all my heart that all those people can somehow rebuild their lives again.
I was looking at Yahoo News and looking at the damage photos and oddly enough it looked very much like F3/EF3 damage, but god I wish that I could come over and stormchase, just to try and help save more lives, it sucks being here in Ireland and not being able to help.

We did lose several kids in the Wedgwood Baptist Church Shooting and a couple are in a wheelchair for life.
I think you will find that in 4 or 5 years most people forget and move on. That's a good thing and a bad thing at the same time.
