The Atmosphäre of this Short Film in Impressive.Few Words only the Pics are Speaking. At the Point where the Boy is Trapped and the Steaw get in Fire it´s running cold down my Spine.
if they kid had really died, then his ghost should come over the burned hay and find there in the middle of the fire and what's left after a couple of hours the body of the kid or at least hisbones, in this way the audience will be able to realize that the kid was really dead. and the ending will me much crepier. however I assume the kid at the end was not dead at all and somehow he did manage to escape.
It is an awesome short film. We had the pleasure of showing it in our British cinema retrospective, at the Seville European Film Festival, a couple of years ago. It was one of my favourites.
it happend for me i was 12 years old and stupid fkin 19 guy hold nife on my neck and i was holding it too he was pushing with out tuchin my neck after like 20 sec i gave up and my hands getting weaker... then his knife get to my neck... my family was so close to his family so they didnt do anything for him after that but i am who got fked up.
@maddogz1303 Well, it's a film done on a level that requires a pretty extensive crew. For this kind of film, they need to be able to find and cast actors, scout a location, secure said location, procure all the necessary paperwork to use said location, maintain pay stubs for all of the cast and crew, have people build the giant haystack, and be able to get the funding to do all of what I just mentioned.
I mean, it looked like it was shot on a Red, so they had to have a budget.
@sad4ewer yeah i get you, i live in the US and people are just so senseless sometimes it bothers the living shit out of me, i guess i got carried away...it just gets to me you know?
@Jinnhotaru yo man, no need to call people names, i was just voicing my opinion just like how you did right now...no need to get your thong in a twist. and no thanks, thanks for the idea though (=
Watch a Pre-January 8th copy of Inception. Listen closely when the actors say imagine, reality, and safe, or point pistols. You'll hear the words, Loughner, offin' her, part of the word Giffords, and much more. Some say they hear, do it.
@Miikaika25 They probably thought the older kids would be responsible enough to get him out. You'd never want to believe your mate's burning in a fire at first, right? You'd think of every other reason possible.
This left more questions than story . ???? sucked.............. Woh, I guess that was all that it was about. The story was for the viewer to imagine the storyline to finish. I would like to believe it to be an art form with the unique ability to say alot more than can be said. good............
if he was a ghost i think he would have come back perect with no smoke on his shirt and face but seeing as hough he ame out the way he did i think he is alive and just escaped
A better alternative ending would be that girl who left the car and went back to the haystack died for saving the boy. The boy came back to see her burned body.
Smart kid. Good he run out. Maybe it would show something someones who bullies weakers and someones who lefts their friends. I would to show this film to watch some people
Esto es una forma de cortejar a la vida misma con acciones realmente insoportables, oblicuas, a que conducen a las persona a tener que tomar conciencia al final de todo caso, el valor y el sentimiento arraigado de ese niño me deja perplejo.
Ughh, I am so sick of British Film. I live in Britain, I live in a multi cultural council estate, and not once has there been anyone sold for sex trafficking (London To Brighton), not once have chavs beaten the living shite out of and/or killed everybody who even talks to them (harry brown) & guns arent nearly as easily available as portrayed in Bullet Boy. Seriously, these stupid cliche's are killing me, people have to learn that "independent film" does not just mean "overly depressing and OTT"
@squiddey4 films are meant to amuse people or catch people's attention. This video was not meant to portray britain as some sort of horrible place full of bullies or to confirm any clichés. if you think so you didn't get the message.
@Vleertouwer Yes films like these create an emotional response; and that is what they set out to do, but what a lot of filmmakers appear not to understand is that there are far more emotional responses than depression. And british film appears to be solely to do with depression. Why is it that we have to focus on the terrible aspects of life such as bullying, death and fear? I have seen beautiful shorts with true emotional response and as a rule they appear to come from everywhere BUT britain
@squiddey4 I know of two people who got killed in bacup just because of the way they looked and what music they listen to, also i theres asians in rochdale who used kids for money.
@deathcommulticom But these events are in an extreme minority. The films I mentioned make these things appear like everyday occurences that affect all of us in our daily lives. And that is just incorrect.
Furthermore, why is it that in a world dominated by conglomerates that supply us a torrent of depression via the media, constantly informing of us of terrorism and the failures of our governments; that one of the only ways we can express ourselves (film) is filled with the SAME oppression?!
@matt036 but when it does happen, it's in the minority. It really doesn't happen to the frequency/scale that it happens in the majority of British Independent Cinema, especially the films I have mentioned.
@Imnotbono14 I think to not help could be considered the same as helping...
The point is: People die because of things like this sometimes. You could ofc see it the way you just described - but it could be the other way around too ;)
Bullying, hmm, it's more complicated than this. This is just a cliché. And by the way, setting the haystack on fire wasn't a being a bully, it was being a complete idiot.
When they were flicked matches at him, I was almost in tears. I felt like it was me, panicking to get out, trapped and unable to get away from the fire. The end made me smile and give a sigh or relief. Very good concept.
@floorpuddle The story of 3 young boys, 4 teenagers, and the British countryside. Desertion, a misunderstanding, and the sparking of a chain of events that leads uncontrollably to a terrifying outcome...
2) his friends older brother and friends weren't cowards
also, the main character himself is not a coward, he might have been hiding, too afraid to jump or smoke, but in the end, he was the only one who displayed any kind of bravery, for example, lunging at the lit matches
