This routine is beautifully composed and beautifully executed. I agree with the poster below that says the routine is underscored. Isn't it nice to see difficulty combined with gorgeous artistry? Go Hollie!
Does anyone know if Hollie is working towards Beijing? I would love to see her in the beam finals.
In my opinion, Nastia Liukin's beam routine is much better than Hollies. Not to be harsh, but, Nastia cannot get as much deducted for her routines, even with a wobble or a bobble she can score around a 15.825. When she does really well she can be awarded over a 16.400!
That's because Nastia is overscored. Hollie is usually underscored. When they are both on, Hollie is the cleaner of the two.
Judges would disagree with me here most probably, but Nastia is not as graceful as people lead you to believe. She's graceful, yes, but she's not in the class of Podkopayeva, Khorkina, Bouginskaya. (I wouldn't hesitate to put Hollie there)
However, I would hesitate to put Nastia there. Her artistry almost looks forced.
Well, if you didn't hesitate, then why is Holie not in your 'graceful group'? I addmit, Podkopayeva was an exceptional gymnast on the beam. However, Khorkina's work looks more forced than ANYTHING. She struggles!!! Nastia is an amzing gymnast, better than Hollie.
I was talking about all around more than anything, but if you insist, Svetlana on the BB in the 1996-2000 cycle was beautiful also.
Hollie is there. When someone means they wouldn't hesitate to put them there, it means that she's not in the stereotype, yet in personal judgement, they would put them there.

I see Nastia getting a 16.400 at nationals and other events that are constantly scaled up in marks. Hollie had never had that pleasure.
At INTERNATIONAL comps, not ones that are scaled up in scores, Nastia scored a 16.000, 16.100 tops. Same as Hollie. Hollie was always consistently underscored. THAT'S why I said in my first post "Judges would disagree with me here most probably, but Nastia is not as graceful as people lead you to believe..."
hollie reminds me so much of carly patterson!! especially on beam she is very fluid and hits the beam so softly :)

She doesn't!!! Dont you see? Hollie and Nastia have the same artistry; but Nastia's top score on beam is 16.400 and Hollie's is 16.000!!!
