  • This is my absolute favourite Ed Alleyne-Johnson live performance. And its even better than the cd versions of the 2 songs. <3 it.

  • I had chills through the whole vid. The way he plays that homemade violin of his is amazing!

  • almost make me cry

  • Wait ..why is this only showing my views?

  • Okay, that's it. I'm buying an electric violin.

  • amazing, sent chills through my body

  • nah those 3 ppl didnt slip ...they just dont like this vid ... AND I HATE EM FOR IT ARGH :@

  • teach me now please

  • It's amazing that he can hold a note through a bowturn. Probably the hardest skill on a violin to master.

  • I just happened to stumble upon this man and his music. It is very good. Very likeable. I just wish more updates would become available for all subscribers. Keep up the good work.

  • Well done sir!

  • I really love the music of this guy. He is not very famous in Spain, where I am from, but "Oxford Suite" shocked me the first time I've listen to it, the second, the third, the fourt... and I fell in love with his violin before Internet existed. That's one of the things that Internet is the best invention of History: I've never imagined that I will be able to find so many videos about Ed Alleyne-Johnson or even buy his recordings by web. Septicdonkey thanks a lot for this video.

  • *strings

  • Does anyone know if he records the backbeat (if that's the correct term) as he plays the first part, then plays it in a loop as he proceeds further with the song, or does he simply record it earlier and then pull up samples as he plays the notes on the dstrings? Thanks.

  • @IAmMoparNut He records the background riff there and then on the loop pedal. It is all live with no pre-recorded samples.

  • Three people slipped and hit the dislike button instead of the like button.

  • He loves what he does and people love him for it, he plays everything by Ear, I don't think he has a single note of Music written down.

  • I see that now!!He's indygo guy, crystal man, who come's together people.

  • it bothers me that so many people can watch from the railing but never come around to tip the man for his outstanding performance. my hats off to you ed alleyne.

  • I Wanna Move To Chepster. :(

  • Well done! Very entertaining. =)

  • he is a pure talent.. playing sinserely for the sake of music, not for fame and fortune....awesome!

  • whooa saw him this sat in york took my breath away ,great player but for me it is is master off the loop and echo pedels tha impresed me so much . not taking away his fidle playin talent .some people try to play music and some just have it he dose .

  • saw him at York this weekend performing Sweet Child of Mine. Amazing :D

  • I think somebody find that a bad comment and he don't know the acctually meaning of the spam-function. Even if it is a bad comment, some people mark it with spam while it's just not a opinion and really not spam.

  • Always awesome, I would love to see a concert of him.

  • Don't be so selfcentered gekkedavid. Promote yourself somewhere else /ppl from sweden who is planning a trip to york just for ed

WHO IS THE BEST BUSKER IN BRITAIN???

    for more info on Ed

  • he has been playing york recently

  • Dude, how cool is that!

  • got goosebumps dude! awesome!

  • perfect ...

  • awesomeness

  • this particular video always loads really slow ;-\

  • i too have sen this guy live in york... fantastic guy.. fantastic artist

  • Nothing can compare to hearing this guy live. He is often outside my shop where I work in York and his music is haunting and beautiful. It dosnt translate to youtube very well, its so amazing in real life. His version of with or without you made me realise I loved a girl who had been in my life a long time.

  • Which shop? - we used to know where to find him in Chester

  • does he still do chester?

  • He plays more in York now than Chester, the Chester council won't give him a license to play that much anymore. We met him in York, my dad bought his CD's. He's a genuinely nice, very talented guy :)

  • Just came across this Christmas morning....awesome! Makes my whole day even better.

  • So what if he had to redo the beginning, with a song that is this good who cares, ha ha.

  • omg he had to re do it in the begining :P, Anyways this is soooo good realy u2 song is so beatiful on violin love every second of it

  • he is not re-doing it, he is recording the loops for the Track

  • he is re-doing it,made an very early error, listen to it again im sure u will notice it =)

  • the one at 00:07? im reckoning its to do with loops

  • Nah, that's a clear misstake, u never hear any of the first 7 second later in the song, no loops just a misstake

  • I think what happened was he was supposed to be playing at exactly the same speed for the loop to work so he had a fuller sound cause if you listen it's like there is an echo at about 7 seconds in. Then when he does it again, there isn't. Or that's my take on things anyway.

  • This guy is great. "Alex Mitchell" is in the same neoclassical electric violin genre. If anyone knows any other good artists, please message me!

  • I could listen to this for hours. I'd put it in the background while I work if I could.

  • Back again! I love this song!!

  • AWESOME!!!\

  • wonderful, never heard anything like this!
