It appeared to me Jon, that your approach was right on target each time. The flaring high problem looked to only happen after you raised rpm and the frame rocked back some at that point. It looked like the decent to the runway would have been right on....without power. But hey, the landings were still smooth.....and instructional!
The amount of flare for that gyro was appropriate. The problem was not excessive flare, but that I leveled off too high. If I had flared at 5' where I initially leveled off, the gyro would have dropped to the ground hard. Adding power allowed me to sink and flare at a more appropriate altitude. Good landings as long as the engine doesn't fail. If that happened I would hit hard. Better to level off at 1' to 2' and not have to rely on power.
You know...next time I may not do an "honesty annotation." It did sound cool and the timing was brilliant.
