Gus Van Sandt (the video's director) is gay. Bowie was bisexual in the 70's...but married twice to women...I love this video, it's androgyny at its best. It's like Bowie is doing a retrospective of his "70's song, nodding to his "interesting' sexuality, but he's moved on since then...I saw him on his 1990 tour, he was GREAT!
