Have a look at the trees bacward of the turbine. They dont move soo i supose the wind speed must be at most 100-120 km/h.Near here there are winds of either 180 km/h.I dont think this thing can support them. And i belive this turbine is not on job...no?
wow!!! that thing is sure cookin. Muddy , you of all people should know power is not speed. It could stop dead if you try to harvest some power. I'm not sying it will but it takes a lot of wind to support certain types of vawt. It doesn't go slow enough to see them but if this is a lift wing it should be a good producer. once it gets up to lift. till then, it looks nice spinning. It sure looks bigger than 1.3x1.3 and that.s a good thing. great rpm for size 7-8ft.?
these would prob. be super efficient if properly stabilized also balanced!,This type of design maximises wind force to the blades of the machine...just wait to you all see what I have built! but this one is very good and on its way to being productive!
WOW THAT IS POWERFUL FOR THE SIZE. WHAT ANGLE ARE THE BLADES AND WHAT IS THE TSR? I WANT ONE. IVE MADE SO MANY HAWTs IM NOW DROOLING TO FABRICATE A VAWT FOR MY HOME AS WELL. I WANT TO START WITH A SMALL FIVE FOOTER TO START JUST AFTER I FINNISH THE ONE FOOT PROTO FOR ASSURANCE. THE ALTERNATOR IS ALMOST FINNISHED. AXIAL FLUX!!
