  • is that the tardis at 0:10

  • General Tullius... woo!

Now I have to watch this.

  • i just finished watching all SG shows sad to see them stop, so ima watch BG now :D

  • best movie ever. i sat the roller coaster ride in universal studio and i was wondering who was the bad one and who won

  • Would I betray the human race to sleep with Tricia Helfer on a regular basis? Frak yes.

  • BSG Reimagined board meeting: "...I know, let's have characters and Cylons f!cking the sh!t out of each other! That'll bring in plenty more viewe...I mean opportunies for in depth characterization". Give me a frakking break...

  • I just don't know whether or not I should watch this.

It just seems like scifi for the masses to me and not like much scifi at all. There's robots, they hunt humanity, and people don't like each other. That's all I'm getting from this trailer. I suspect there's not much in the veins of visiting planets threats from multiple races?

I'm not bashing the show, I honestly want to know. I Watched all Stargates, Babylon 5, Farscape, Firefly and loved all of them. Will I love BSG, too?

  • @ZGoten If you loved B5 and those other shows I would say, yes, you will probably like this. There is only one Battlestar Galactica. And it is NOT reimagined as far as this dude is concerned. This show was full of hope (much like B5), the reimagined BS stands true to those initials imo XD Depressing sh!t. If they were gonna "reimagine" it, then that was not the route to go down imho ;)

  • @ZGoten Apologies! I should point out that due to the title of this youtube post not saying BSG reimagined, I took it for a trailer for the original Battlestar Galactica...I scrolled down to read the comments and had my pc on mute, during my attempt to answer your question XD

  • @ZGoten I lvoe scifi and I've watched all those shows you listed. And I have watched BSG. Easily the most memorable, epic and emotional show is Battlestar Galactica. Don't listen to dumbfucks saying this is bad because it's reimagined from the 70's campy star wars-wannabe. The reimagined(this one) is the real stuff.

I would go as far as to say this is the best tv-series I have ever seen.

  • This show was nothing compared to the original. I MEAN WHY IS STARBUCK A CHICK!!!!????

  • @v3r71c0r Because in all honesty - it made the entire series more 'interesting' by adding another story-arch :-) ... And this Starbuck was a way better character than the man-version ;-) - but that's just my opinion/taste - everyone's got their own preferences :-)

  • @RubenKremer Yeah i will agree that she was a great character but i guess im jsut a loyal fan of the original show so seeing it changed so much didn't sit well with me :P I was expecting the same thing but with better CGI which in all honestly would have sucked. For the time being we still have Starblazers :)

  • @v3r71c0r I completely agree with you. Imo this is just another post 9/11 depressive pile of horse hockey with no imagination or originality whatsoever. Typical modern day tv by numbers.

  • @johnjnukemsheridan TV by numbers? Oh dear. You like the original, fun, camp and completely shallow BSG then that's fine: I did too. But the lengths you go to slag off one if the most intelligent and soulfully written scifi show of modern times says more about you than the show, especially with shite like that.

  • @ZdPhoenix I'm sorry. But I simply will not be sold on a show because of "risque elements" mentioned in the advertising...that's alarm bell #1 for me because I'm a cynical SOB with a brain of my own - especially when everything today is sold on the lowest common denominator basis...If it's so important to show fucking in shows/films cos of the "emotional quota" then why aren't we viewers as frequently shown a person struggling due to emotional stress to squeeze out a shit? Hmmm?! ;D

  • @johnjnukemsheridan The point of drama is to explore the human condition, not to be a family friendly. If the sex and violence is incidental it would be just sensational, but in a show about what it is to be human, the value of love and hate and some fairly direct post 9-11 allegories, they're pretty intrinsic.

There's a reason why this show wins prestigious awards and gets a special at the UN.

  • @ZdPhoenix (Well said!!) As a dedicated fan of the original BG, I was reluctant to give this new series its due. I'm just now discovering Season 1 & 2 on Hulu and I have to say I'm loving it. It truly is an exploration of the human condition. Each episode has me on the edge of my seat, and that is what great story telling is suppose to do. The original series like all things 70s was a bit surface, and more feel good. Kudos to the writers of this awesome reinvigorated, re imagining.

  • @johnjnukemsheridan TV by numbers is formulaic, repetitive, non-evolving, pointless - all of which this show has been recognised for standing against. The original was sci fi by numbers . . . this used the template to do more high brow sci fi. It's a shame that offends you.

  • @ZdPhoenix You'll forgive me for saying so, but depicting people and robots fucking, is hardly "high brow". I'm afraid you just destroyed your own argument. And the most "soulfully written sci fi show of modern times" is Babylon 5. Any real Sci Fi, ney, TV fan who's seen it knows that. I'm glad you like a "high brow" show with no balls that frequently says "Frak" as a thinly veiled use of FUCK, that can't build its own story from scratch because the writers are too lazy. Good for you.

  • @johnjnukemsheridan No, high brow comes from reflecting life and grown up issues - you're just stripping the rest of it away and sensationalising it for your own purposes. The idea that portraying sexuality makes something automatically lowbrow is quite painfully ignorant.

If you hate the show that's your taste, but you're not the arbiter of what 'real' sci fi is - that just makes you sound stuck up, and writes off a hell of a lot of science fiction literature.

  • @johnjnukemsheridan You saying BSG is about fighting is about as insightful as someone saying Fight Club is about fighting. Or that Moby Dick is about sailing.

Now, B5 is a beautifully plotted show and I love it dearly, but it's also really trite at times and has some of the clunkiest dialogue imaginable. If you like that show more then that's valid, there's no need to be a baby about what other people prefer.

  • @ZdPhoenix *saying BSG is about fucking . . . or saying frak for that matter.

  • @ZdPhoenix If you think Reimagined Battlestar Galactica is more intelligently written than Babylon 5 you are sorely mistaken, and quite, quite deluded.

  • best fucking serie ever. period.

  • 240p... We meet again.

  • @Epidemicx333 Yeah, sorry about that - the original source wasn't any better. I even improved it a bit already. So this really is the best I could make out of it. ;-)

  • @vanquisher111 Everyone has their own taste and opinion. I personally think it was a welcome change of tone, an improvement on the scifi-genre. The action in most series is there because of the action. The action in this series was there because of the story. I prefer the latter approach.

  • @RubenKremer You just defined what I have been telling my girfriend, I´m watching it all over again, it´s even better the second time, since you can get lots of details that escaped you before. :)

  • @vanquisher111 it was supposed to be a drama the sci fi action was extra

  • i just realized that the 12 colonies got wiped out because they were using cloud computing, oh fruck we doomed

  • "our enemy, our own creation" <u just lost me already BYE not wasting my time on a show based on a mistake that you made.

  • Awsome show but... if they're from another planet how do they explain the similarities with our planet? Ok Let's say they have the same ancestor as we do. But why would the cigars come from Cuba? Really Cuba? haha. Still awsome show.

  • @0eulogra0 i guess you could argue its just human nature. in just about every culture around our planet they bee smoking....... i liked the series too, but when they got to the point in season 4 when everyone turned out to be a robot dude........ errrrrrr..........

  • Chuck Norris Loves you.

  • @cspankey777 It seems not.

  • @cspankey777 No.

  • This is the worst fucking show doesn't make fucking sense bullshit just bullshit

  • @mrfreedom05

There's a tree shredder outside my house. Do me a favor and throw yourself in it.

  • Just finished watching season 1 today, I'm hooked!!!!

And that doctor is so damn lucky to have that smoking hot blonde around him lol.

  • @jakxcombat season 2's great aswell , thats when you find out lee adama's a cylon

  • 23 people are sexual manifestations in Baltars head

  • Great series.

  • Hello, Are there any other seasons / films before season 1? as the first episode starts with ... last time on battlestar galactica..?!

    Thanks

  • @monstanator You probably started out with the first episode of season 1 called '33'. Before season 1 was a miniseries of two episodes, maybe that's something you've missed?

  • @RubenKremer Should i start on the Miniseries or Season 1. Also would i be able to buy the Miniseries?

  • @Gelo1305 You should start with the miniseries, definitely. Amazon has it for sale, but if I'm not mistaken, it's included in the Season 1 DVD/Bluray boxes (don't pin me down on this though) The complete series-boxes (bluray/dvd) most certainly have the miniseries inside :-)

  • @Gelo1305 I don't know what your background is to watching this, but I didn't know much about the show beforehand and *maybe*, had I started with the miniseries, I wouldn't have continued. It's still quite a bit different. I started with season 1, got the story figured out pretty easy, and was intrigued. But maybe just keep in mind that the show itself doesn't pick up every strand from the miniseries (which is good)

  • Much Mormon doctrine and values are is in this show because it was created by a Mormon Glen Albert Larson For example, "endure to the end", "God created worlds without number", marriage for "time and eternity" , "council of twelve", etc. (much more) I'm a Mormon and I enjoy the show but the Mormon religion is far more profound than this show hints at.

  • Amazing how they took a cheesy 1970s crapfest and turned it into one of the most thoughtful and thought-provoking dramas in TV history. A masterpiece.

  • I love this show, it's my favourite.

  • Shame because SGU is so much better than this.... why the fuck did they cancel it?

  • @Atheist269

LOL. Its funny because you are wrong.

  • @HeroicSandwich hey it's an opinion, so not right or wrong you idiot. i think sgu is a hell of a lot better than this and i know tons of people who'd agree.

  • @Atheist269 Time Magazine obviously doesn't. They called the new BSG one of the top 100 tv shows of all-time.

  • nice I should def. watch this !

  • I hate so much when they were praying for gods and all that bullshit.

  • 4 likes are from sheldon, raj, howard and leonnard haha..

  • seems ecstatic :)

  • Baltar for president!.... oh wait

  • Those 21 cylon's souls won't make it to God...

  • Does anyone know the song starbuck plays at her house when she goes to get the arrow (I think its on Caprica) if you do please reply, thanks

  • 21 people are cylons

  • Bears, beets....Battlestar Galatica.

  • Best show ever. Period.

  • @HortonofDOOM Agreed - but then we're talking about a whole different sci-fi genre alltogether ;-)

  • @HortonofDOOM As it is - there is no sound in space, at least non within our range of hearing ;-)

  • play the game on bigpoint.com

  • I was very much astonished when they just ended the whole thing by making peace between cylons and humans and found a destroyed earth.. wtf >.<??? I need a better end for such a good tv series

  • @EEastCCoast haven't u seen the 10 finals episodes? cause what your describing is the season 4 mid season finale( that is the10:th episode of season 4, and season 4 have 20 episodes)

There is 10 episodes left for you to see(season 4 episode 11-20)

hopefully you like the real ending more :)

  • 'four seasons then they ended it on their own terms' Yes and evidently not a thought about the fan base. Great production values outstanding acting ensemble and writing and music that other series only hallucinate about, but when the fans signalled they wanted more-they got frakked! Over a year between seasons and the fans kept coming back. rocking dvd sales but not even a hint of a movie. There are executives and creative talent then there are loyal veiwers-see who got screwed

  • There is only one great SF show and it is Firefly!

    FIREFLY RULES!

  • @bojance11pa Firefly is amongst the greatest, agreed! But it's not alone at the summit ;-)

  • @bojance11pa

    Indeed.

  • Firefly had a happy balance of scifi/drama

  • @RiVvenGuard It really didn't. It was episodic light entertainment that just happened to be set in space. A typical Joss Whendon product with lots of snappy dialogue and sickeningly likeable characters, but not much in the way of plot. It was great TV, but not great sci-fi.

  • @RiVvenGuard Completely true - Firefly was just sheer fun - the scifi/drama mix was excellent. Add to the mix a good dose of humor - and success guaranteed, or at least .. it should have been ...

  • I loved SGU and SGA. I believe I will also like BSG which I haven't watched yet. On a side note, even though SGU is unfortunately cancelled, I hope the stargate series isn't killed off. I love the idea and has allot of potential.

  • @HDaviator i heard they killed the franchise and that theres no chance of a new series or film to happen, hopefully they will bring it back in a few years but i doubt i will be any sooner.

  • @Benr96

I thought Stargate:Extinction was in production and supposed to be released in 2011.

  • @HDaviator Negative - sadly all of Stargate has now passed to the historybooks of television ;-)

  • How much does this series tell about the happenings from the Cylons' side? Or is it mostly just about humans?

  • 0:25 music???

  • Quick question: I liked SG1 and SGA very much but SGU sucks. Will I like BSG? I haven't seen any episode so far and I'm just wondering if I should try...?

  • @eonwe27

in SG1 and SGA you get 90% of pure sci fi

in SGU you get 50% sci fi and 50% space soap

in BSG there is like 25% sci fi and 75% space soup

if you cant stand SGU you will definitely get totally bored with BSG

  • @Vanhyo I'd like to put it a little more subtle....

    SG1 - 75% Science Fiction - 20% Fantasy - 5% Drama = 100% Pure (Light) Entertainment

    SGA - same as SG1

    SGU - 50% Science Fiction - 5% Fantasy - 35% Drama = 100% Quality Entertainmint

    BSG - 10% Science Fiction - 90% Drama = 100% Quality (Heavy) Entertainment

All of these series have their proper place, they're all enjoyable. SG1/SGA goes with popcorn, SGU goes with anything, BSG goes with a nice cup of coffee/glass of Scotch ;-)

  • @RubenKremer Dude you just lost all creditability when you listed SGU 100% Quality lol

It is the worst sci fi show made.

  • @RiVvenGuard It's not the worst-made scifi show, it's crap compared to BSG (like every SG series is crappy compared to BSG), agreed... but I've seen way worse.

  • @eonwe27 Auch, that's a tough one. I personally found that SGU is very much inspired by BSG, and that SGU is one of the best SG-series in the franchise. SG-1 and SGA always felt a little too 'jolly' and 'easy', SGU felt way more serious and dark - much more to my personal liking ;-) .... so in short - you might wanne try BSG nontheless, but I suspect it won't be your kind of series!

  • I don't regret the time I spent watching the show, but by the series finale, I was tormented by the thoughts of things I would change. I loved the show and the entire concept. Hard science fiction is rare and always welcome. But these little things just brought the show down to a place it didn't really deserve to be. Consider the ending: Returning to a primitive state because apparently, enlightenment is bad. They could have saved a few people from being sacrificed if you ask me.

  • what are some other good sci fi shows?

  • Bears. Beats. Battlestar galactica.

  • I wish i can just go back in time and watch bsg all over again. I could watch the box sets but its not the same, because i know how it ends.

  • @unfeelingthor Sadly ... I know exactely what you mean by this ...

  • @solhasse are you serious? lol i find that hard to believe

  • I laugh every time they say frag, sunds so funny :P

  • How the f.. did islam get in the comments ? get a life man !

  • i'm...so confused by the series emotionally, some episodes i love it, the character development, the plot, Giaus is without a doubt my favorite character, and sometimes it bores me to death, and some of the characters just annoy me, especially Starbuck and her...issues...seriously it's like that sour patch kids commercial, sometimes it's sour, sometimes its sweet...

  • @AdriasSoap As a matter of fact, I have! And even though SGU was a lot darker than SG1/SGA - it still didn't manage to get as grundgy as BSG. Moreover, SGU felt a little like the studio asking the writers for a new series. Pointing at an opened DVD set of BSG - 'Something like that!' But thats just how it felt to me ;-)'

  • @RubenKremer I prefer AD_E. DWT was a lot of crap. OVC had a lot of action in it. And don't get me started about TGHUD/FG34.

  • @RubenKremer lol SGU? What a joke. How can it even appeal to someone who has seen BSG before? It has not plot, only these crappy boring soup-opera gay lesbian tales, each for every plot, but overall, it's not going anywhere. It doesn't even feel like they've tried to imitate BSG. It fails on every front to come anywhere close to BSG's qualities. It almost feels like the producers of SGU are unaware of the fact that BSG exists.

  • @RubenKremer I still wish it didnt end =-(

    SGU That is.

  • @Kaarox Agreed - SGU wasn't as good as BSG, but I did thoroughly enjoy it! I just watched SGU completely and it is one of the best SG's so far. It's a shame that's been cancelled!

  • BSG was really good

  • Stargate has a jolly feeling, and you get to know the characters really well. Is BSG like that?

  • @Foxie1995 In my experience you'll get to know the characters in this show way better than in Stargate.. however, the 'jolly feeling' you mentioned - you won't find that in this series. This series has a much darker and more serious tone to it. Stargate always remained 'light' entertainment, this then would be 'serious entertainment' ;-)

  • @RubenKremer "Stargate always remained 'light' entertainment"

You haven't seen SGU I take it... xD

  • @RubenKremer I seen both, I prefer Stargate for its much more massive story but I have to say the fact that Battlestar Galactica's protagonists took hits left and right from day one made it feel much less prolonged and was overall more enjoyable in those ways. They actually didn't seem to think "How can we get out of this one?", the developers probably thought "What would a robotic army do to them if this was the case?".

    Mostly robots. xD

    And yeah, SGU = BSG / SG1/A hybrid imo :D - H

  • @RubenKremer SGU was not light entertainment.

  • this show is not islamic; when sharia law come to united states insha allah, this dirty battlestar show will be banned

  • @IslamIsTheWay2010 haha love how you take the piss out of islam hating everything your a funny guy

  • What I love about Galactica are the characters. They're so amazing and I LOVE them all.

Tigh is a drunk, but I think he's awesome.

Balthar is a selfish fuck, but he's my fraking idol.

  • finished 1-4.5 season on netflixs and i gotta say this show is an epic 5/5

  • I just finished watching it also for the first time as well as the Plan 3 days ago and I agree 100% Frakkin awesome show!

  • @Rodmunch15 another good show if you havent seen it yet Firefly and the movie Serenity

  • @lixourius It doesn't - That's episode 1, it's title is '33' ;-)

  • Today I finished the miniseries and I love it .. I look forward to watch the sequel .. does anyone know why the series starts in episode 33;;

  • cant seem to get into it with the cast they got!

  • @Daniel170393 - In my opinion: no. The SG series have a higher 'popcorn'-value than BSG. This series leans more to the serious side. Also, BSG has less of a fantasy/fictiony feel to it. It feels more real than the SGs. You may love it, you may hate it - but mostly there's no middle ground.. Just try a few episodes ;-)

  • @RubenKremer Thanks For The Reply, I will check out few episodes

  • Is This similar to stargate SG1, SGA, SGU ?

  • @Daniel170393 i honestly don't even think they compare. this is original in it's own way. it knows what thrills people and use that. watch it and you'll be hooked. Warning: BSG seasons 1-4(incl. Miniseries) EXTREMELY addictive.

  • wow this looks good just finished watching all of the stargates i think i will start watching this !!

  • I've seen all Stargate series and movies and am now looking for a new good Sci-Fi series that I can watch, I've decided to watch BSG, it seems from trailers and scenes that is looks more like SGU than like SGA or SG-1, amiright?

  • Save Stargate Universe!

  • @AnonymousPanacea I miss SGU already

  • @AnonymousPanacea that show sucks

  • @Brocassionfilms nah it doesnt. In my personal opinion its the exact change SG franchise needed.Until SGU it was ( as mentioned above ) always merry , light , and for entire family entertainment.I personally grew up with SG-1 , then SGA got little bit more serious ( little tiny bit ).Always certain everyone will survive , everything will turn out just fine.On the other hand SGU was all the time dark atmosphered , characters depressed , slowly loosin it.Much more interesting to watch , imho.

  • @AnonymousPanacea too bad it wasn't saved.. it's gone.. an ending to another great series

  • BAZINGA!

  • old 97s brought me here :)

  • The new Battestar sucks major dick. Not even worth a pile of year old horse shit.

  • @mountainstandardtime are you talking about Caprica? i found it interesting to find out about the pre cylons and the build up to the 1st war. A truelly smart tv show but sadly it was canceled

  • first music???

  • I prefer SGU, but enjoyed this too :)

  • So So long ago that was made and yet it was the best show on tv

  • I love this show.

  • I'm a Cylon

  • i think star trek is lot better than this

  • @BendikBS u r retarded if u think star trek not better..my advice is watch it again

  • @ceasefire066 each to there own

  • @stormer55 how many seasons it has,,i mean this battlestar

  • @ceasefire066

4 seasons but season 4 is split into season 4 and season 4.5

  • @stormer55 gr8,,i guess i will watch this battlestar if have time

  • A friend at work just boxset bullied me with this.

  • @drbradpitt youre such a pussy thats why I keep beating you at warhammer

  • Just watched the miniseries in high def with my bud. It was better then I remembered it. It also looks sick in high def. Amazing sci-fi series although it's more drama then scifi. Epic to say the least.

  • Tricia Helfer <3

  • 2:10 he looks like han solo and the logo looks like jedi order logo

  • this is the most epic sci fi movie

  • I've never seen a single episode. I kind of feel excited that I get to watch all of it, now.

  • I was never a big sci-fi fan. But that all stopped when a friend told me to watch this show. I got hooked straight away, and saw the whole thing (every fraking special as well) in a mere 2 and a half weeks. This show has one of the best cast-rosters, writingstaff, storyline, plot etc etc. It's got it all, and I strongly recommend everyone to watch it.

  • @substitute91 you will definetly enjoy watching battlestar! it is amazing! once you watch one you wont be able to stop

  • @seanymo Google "Tesla Scalar Weapons" and you will see hundreds of informative links that reality is indeed stranger than fiction. There are weapons today beyond Battle Star Galatica

  • @ComradePatriot you mean the highly theoretical weapons? that rely on "old (dis proven)" physics?

  • i have a question..so, i just finished watching Fringe season 2 and i was never a sci-fi fan, but now i am. and i'm just looking for another great sci-fi, i know its too late to love BSG, but is it worth for me, to start watching it? from season 1 - season 4? from what i've read, this could be the only sci-fi that is in the same level, if not better than Fringe... help me please.. thanks! =]]

  • @substitute91 If I were you - I'd fetch myself the first season of BSG (incl. the miniseries) and start watching tonight. You can always decide to not continue watching after the first season, but you won't....

  • @RubenKremer thanks a lot. now that i've got your assurance.. i'll get myself a BSG 1st season. i'm so eager to watch now! oh, btw, (off from the sci-topic), just wondering.. does In Treatmen (season 2) or Breaking Bad is a good series to watch now? Well, i know i'm a little bit behind..since i'm not from the states, i do need some opinions =]] hey, thanks a lot for the BSG recommendation!

  • @RubenKremer I just learned of the series too. Well, I didn't just learn about it, but I did just start watching it. A friend of mine introduced me to it with the miniseries, and I just had to buy the rest of the seasons.

  • @RubenKremer lol that was so true. I had my concerns, but that season one finale...

  • @Damon242 Of course it was ;-) ... no surprise here :-P

  • @substitute91 You should star watching it because BSG is not really over because of Capirca a story that shows how the Cylons revolt against the human and start the Cylon war.

  • @substitute91 Read Frankenstein and watch Bladerunner or read the book, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep." They will give you a good core concept of the show.

  • @bootsdog3 thanks for d recommendation. and I just finished watching the whole whole 1-4 seasons of BSG! my goodness! it is by far the best sci-fi ever made on tv! love it.

it is so good to watch that i or even anyone, could watch it over and over again...

  • @substitute91 Yes, one of the best series I've seen, I started watching around season 2.5 and was hooked. I went back and rented everything that came before it. You really should watch it. It was quite unique.

  • @substitute91 Watch watch watch watch watch watch WATCH WATCH WATCH WATCH WATCH WATCH.

It is by far the greatest thing I've ever seen.

  • @substitute91 BSG is the BEST sci-fi series you could watch yes it is defenatly worth watching

  • @substitute91 I like fringe, but BSG is a billion times better than Fringe.

  • @substitute91 I'd also check out Firefly, one of the best tv series' ever made, plus there's only fourteen episodes so you only need to buy the one boxset :D
