VF's not the flashily looking fighter but its great for the proper fighting game fan. Input timing it much stricter than Tekken, you gotta work alot more for your combos. Its a great fighting game

@Ioselash first of all the juggles in tekken 6 are alot more complicated i know because i have played both a whole hell of alot. second, in tekken 6 each player has alot more healht and a rage mode so not only is it easyer to servive a big combo that you may have been to slow to stay away from but you can actualy make a come back.

@classicblue I would say the opposite. VF juggles are alot harder to do and there not nearly a long (Its get boring watching yourself get juggle for 5 seconds a piece. Also.VF has a weight system. The same juggle isnt genna work on everyone unlike Tekken.

Nor were they hard to do in soul calibur, or any 3d fighting game or 2d fighting game for that matter. hell the first time i played virtua fighter 5 as brad the first thing i did was figure out combos that can be used in juggles. it really isn't that hard.

Played all sorts of fighting games TK, SF, SC, MK, MvC etc. but for some reason I always liked VF. Sure, the characters are kinda bland, graphics could'ev been a bit better and all that crap but, that's not the point. The game still features some interesting mechanics and it takes some time and practice to master the moves. It can be very enjoyable once you learn, at least, some basic moves. :)

It's just that graphics in the trailer look a wee bit outdated and they should'ev presented the game in "better light". @man3k Considering the mechanics and the fighting styles themselves, it makes me think a lot of if Tekken and Dead or Alive were somehow merged together. A lot of the characters share many characteristics, or even movesets, from characters of both series. I'm not so sure I'm interested in the game, with all the other fighters out there right now. I'm not going to say it's an inferior game though, perhaps if I picked up the series earlier in it's history, I'd be more inclined.

@Blakobness It plays WAY different from either of those games, trust me. I'm not a particularly big fan of VF, never quite enjoyed it as much as Tekken, but to it's credit it does NOT cater to button-bashers in the LEAST. If you're just trying to wing it, odds are you will get OWNED. I hear many fans say it's the most technical of fighting games out there today and I really find it hard to deny that claim. It's a lot more about reading your opponent than memorizing combos.

@IAmTheMikko I think generally button mashing only really helps players who are novices, across most fighting games. Sure, you can probably mash out some simple combos, but that's not enough to hold your own against an intermediate player. Intermediate combos, say in Tekken for example, take a least some timing to perform well. But I do agree with you, I get tired of games that rely on who can land the largest combos, rather than testing each other's skill at the game.
